Good Morning Christmas Lovers Around the World!!!!!!! It's going to be a chilly day here with a high around 52 degree's. I have to get some more cleaning done today before my niece's come in later tonight. I'm also thinking about doing some more baking. I'm thinking bananna muffins sound good for breakfast this weekend. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

The Detroit Tigers won!!!!

Sorry for being completely ignorant, but what do they play? Baseball, football, basketball or something else?

Friday hello ... I'm going to need this weekend.

I did not know this! Thanks for the tip
452222222222222 ok, that was from Penny walking across the key board, I guess she wanted to say hit to! LOL

Hello to Penny! Loved her "message"!

MC!!! Thanks for the scoop!!! I think that is what I will do; it went down again around 5 ish I have to admit I just gave up and said I would try in the AM... Now I will try to attempt and catch up, again thank you this is most helpful info!

Glad that works for you! I share your frustration. For the past couple weeks, not every night, but several times, our Internet connection fails at some point during the evening and stays off for anywhere from an hour to overnight. It happened again last night. Restarting the modem and router, rebooting the computer, etc. don't have any effect. I haven't called the ISP support, because ... well, ask caninemom3 what a "goober" is. My last experience with them was so bad, I really stress about calling them again. I could give them up and switch ISPs, but I don't know if that would be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. (Yes, I worry too much about small things.)

I was at work today when a customer came in and asked me if my name was Ron, I said yes, and he said he was so and so, I was shocked. It was my best friend from elementary school, who I haven't seen in nearly 30 years. He said I looked like well I guess me. I was 10 years old the last time I saw him. I still cannot believe it, we were inseparable, we lived on the same street, same classes, and so on. He moved away first and then I moved farther west in the state.
It's always neat when that happens! With me, it's always someone I'm supposed to know, but I'm so bad with names I can't remember. They're always, like, "you don't remember me, do you?" I'm so bad with names!

Sorry for being completely ignorant, but what do they play? Baseball, football, basketball or something else?

I'll hide with you. I've never been able to muster up much interest in sports on TV, other than golf.

Baseball.

Wow you all were busy today, not enough time to reply to posts tonight, I just caught up instead. Another crazy day at work, doing the final prep for all my Thanksgiving turkeys that will be coming in. I will be selling over 4 tons in the next 5 weeks, my arms will be nice and toned by the end of November. cheesy

That is cool about your friend!! Be careful with all of those turkeys!! We don't need you ending up like my brother in law.

I'm the same way. I constantly run into people I knew in scouts and I can never remember their names. Heck, sometimes I can't even remember my neighbors names.

Hello friends!

These last two days have been really frustrating. Without going into too much detail...well...it's just been rough. Yesterday with the testing was a mess (note to self, never register for anything under your new married name while you still have all your identification cards under your maiden name...ugh), I almost ran over a speeding motorcyclist (double ugh), and I spent hours in the social security and drivers license offices. Then today I had trouble at the bank trying to deposit wedding gift checks, followed by a huge fight with my mom which resulted in me storming out of the house. I am really upset and don't know what to do...hubs and I both believe what she said was uncalled for and there is just no reasoning with her when she's in a mood like that. Top all THAT off with the fact that I called and texted our wedding photographer again with no response still, and you've got one very unhappy person right here.

I guess I'm gonna go to bed and hope that tomorrow is a little better. Goodnight everyone.

I hope today is better!!!

I can't wait for a fireplace, period!!! I want to have one in every room!!!!

I miss my fireplace too. The farm house down the street had a fire going the other night and I could smell the smoke while I was sitting out on the porch. It took me right back to when I was a kid and would spend all day watching christmas cartoons beside a roaring fire.

Hey everyone!

My hubby and I just finished celebrating our 8th wedding annversary. We spent the day together, along with our baby girl. He surprised me a diamond anniversary band. I've been wanting a new one because my original ring scratches the baby. I was so excited! He's such a good man.

We're gearing up for Halloween, stocking up on candy, getting the costumes ready and preparing for fun night of trick or treating with the kiddos. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm getting a cold. :( I guess it's to be expected this time of year but I sure was hoping to avoid it.

I'm so ready to set up our tree and start decorating! It's about to drive me crazy. I'll most likely get everything set up at the beginning of November because we're trying to plan a trip to Arkansas to see my family (first time in two years) and I want to have it all ready for when we come home. Everyone pray for me, this trip home might be a stressful one. I'm going to say my final goodbyes to my Grandfather and I'm dreading it. It's hard coming to terms with it. But I am glad that he will finally get to meet his new great granddaughter, my little Sadie. My son is excited to see his cousins. :)

Hope all is well with all of you!

What a lovely gift, how thoughtful. I know this is a hard time for you but and I don't mean to come off as disrespectful so if I do I apologize now, but just think of the positives of this, how many times do you hear if only I could have said goodbye, or let them know I loved them, all to often we leave words that should be said to a person for after they are gone, how awesome would it be to tell them while they are still here with us. I am not sure if you are close or what your relationship is, but if it is that you are close to them, I urge you not to let it be stressful, celebrate the life you had with your Grandfrather and focus on the love that was shared. Don't think of it a loss or goodbye, as you can all visit with him in your heart so it is never really goodbye. If you were not close and there wasn't a loving relationship, focus on the here and now, tell him your plans and dreams, take some time before the trip to think of a few key things that you either respect or cared about of him let those be your guide. Remember everyone is here as a guest, we all will leave one day, so treat everyday as a gift and never let it go by without telling those you love that you do. Best of luck.

Silent Night- You could do the silent night chapel.

Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)- A house with Santa coming down the street in front of it

I saw three ships- Beach cottage with someone standing on the porch watching three ships

Grandma got run over by a reindeer- Grandma in the yard

Frosty- Schoolhouse with the kids putting the hat on Frosty in front of it

I love this idea Made

Good morning everyone!

It's Friday! We're one day away from a month from the beginning of the Christmas Season. Hooray! In celebration, Kim and I are going to the Rideau Centre prior to she begins work. I'm excited! Not much time to talk now though... We should be heading out shortly. I'm hoping to see some real signs of the season today

Have a great Friday, everyone. The weekend is almost here!

Change of plans: Kim cannot go today, but has to go tomorrow to make some purchases. Therefore, it will be delayed until tomorrow, which should be the perfect way to bring in the one moth countdown.

Good morning, snowflake! It is so good to see you! I knew you hadn't been on here for a bit, but I figured you were busy with school and trying to get in all that needs to be done for your move. What a crazy busy time you are going to have the next few months! Take care and good luck on your quiz! {{{HUGS}}} to you and Harlowe!

Thank you, Meceka!
How are you? How are Palmer, Mouse, Bo, and your outdoor furkids? Sending hugs to you all. xo

The border is priceless! A whole border of grinning pumpkin faces!

That is a really sweet pumpkin face!

I miss my fireplace too. The farm house down the street had a fire going the other night and I could smell the smoke while I was sitting out on the porch. It took me right back to when I was a kid and would spend all day watching christmas cartoons beside a roaring fire.

I bet it smelled so good!!

Those memories that bring you back to your childhood are priceless.

Good Morning everyone!

Okay it is almost lunchtime here, I was trying to read all your posts since yesterday evening.

By the way this is my first multi quote post, don't know if it works.

Good Morning, Cetacea!!
You did great w/ your first multi-post

Oh, are you sick? I hope you will get well soon. Don't let yourself get scarred by the doctor. They are human beings aswell.

I looooovvvvvvvee these! Unfortunately I hadn't any in a very long time. Need to eat some next summer!

Good idea! At the moment I am thinking about christmas gifts for my family. Actually I have to look for birthdays and christmas gifts. My sisters birthday will be in the middle of November and my moms a month after christmas. Makes choosing christmas gifts difficult.

I want to be prepared as soon as possible. I don't like a stressful advent.

Wow you have every right to be proud of her! Congratulations! It is great if kids find something they enjoy and are good at.

I hope you soon find the right house. Don't get overstressed by the good chaos.

Thank you, Cetacea. I appreciate that.
I'm going to start searching again for a bit. When I start to get stressed, I'll pop on here to see my Christmas friends =)

Hope you have a great day!

I hope you don't think I am noisy, but could I ask you what kind of job you have? You are selling Turkey?

So cool that you met your best friend from elementary school. Hope you can stay intouch now.

I am so sorry to hear that you had a couple frustrating days. I hope life gets better soon.

:merry:

Good Morning, friends~

TGIF =]

What are your plans for the day? The weekend?

I am going to look online @ houses for a bit, and then get back to my syllabus. Need to finsih the chapter I am on, and prepare for the quiz.

At noon, we have our landlord's (sounds so weird to say) Dad coming over to look at an electrical problem we are having in the downstairs bathroom. This is the first house problem we've had since we sold the house, and became renters. Adrian's first thought was to attempt to fix it himself, but I reminded him that we have to go about it the right way, and through the proper channels. So, for two days, we can only use this bathroom during the day, when we can see in there. Hope he can fix it.

We had a crazy thunderstorm last night. It was actually very neat to see, since they are so rare here. But, Vegas can't handle them, and there's flooding everywhere. We even had hail, too!

Harlowe was actually at the vet last night during the storm, she had to get some vaccinations that were due. Adrian was there w/ her. So, I just turned out all of the lights, turned on MCR, and watched the storm. It was quite amazing.

Well, better get my day going.

Praying for all of you, especially those who are sick, stressed, or having a difficult time.

Thinking of you! Hope you have a lovely weekend!!

Looks like I will be setting up the tent tomorrow in the back yard and have a camp out with my girls. Lows around 50 will make chilly in the morning but I think multiple blankets on top of sleeping bags will work fine. We'll build a fire & roast some marshmellows. Maybe grill some hot dogs. Perfect month to sit around the fire and tell ghost stories.

Have a great weekend everybody.

Hello Christmas friends! Happy Friday everyone and I wish you all a great weekend! :]

My day was quite strange actually. I received an e-mail this morning saying that my results of academic writing test which I had done at the end of September wasn't good enough so I have to attend classes to improve my skills. It frustrated me a lot at first because I had done a lot of academic writing. Amyway, I was absolutely sure that I didn't do very well at the test not because of lack of knowledge about academic writing but because I was in a rush. I was given one hour to cope with three tasks so I was affraid I could face a lack of time. Anyway, after some time of being in a bad mood because of the results I started thinking that classes which are compulsory for me to attend aren't actually very disadvantegous. 'If you’re not failing regularly, you’re definitely not making much progress.' It was once said by Robin Sharma (bless him for inspiring thoughts ^^). From then, I'm not so worried about that test because its results aren't really that upsetting. :]

I also went to the town centre this afternoon. I bought some lovely Christmas presents for my cousins. Also, 'Marks&Spencer' started displaying Christmas stuff in the store. There were so many lovely things: Christmas decorations, candles which were incredibly beautiful and incredibly expensive.

Have a warm evening everyone! :*

Good Morning Christmas Gang!

Am I the only one awake?

I had a really nice evening yesterday. I hope you all had a good evening as well!

Luckily the rain finally stopped. It was getting scarry and a lot of people have to deal with flood damage on their houses. My dad drove to my grandparents yesterday and close to their home he had to drive through a flooded street. The water reached the door of the car. Luckily nothing happened to dad and the car.

Good news about your Dad making it threw all those floods hope your Grandparents house was OK

Good Fourth Morning of the Work Week, Everybody.

The week, the month and the year are rolling by inexorably.

And again we are drawn to this, the official count of Christmas Season 2012:
Days to the Season: 33
Days to Christmas Day: 75

Hey! Look!
ONE MONTH from the day after tomorrow.
The Season arrives, right on schedule.
Gadzooks and Forsooth!

Nice day yesterday with the high in the low 70's and no rain.
Wish that could continue but I'm afraid it's going to turn cooler again.
We are at 49 degrees here in the capital city at this hour.

Ready for a Through and Through Thoroughly Thrilling Thursday, Folks?
Well, this is where it starts -- right here at MMC -- the fun and smile capital of the internet!
And it's because of all of you that its magic works so well.
Be proud.
Be very proud.

Ok, Ok, I know I am late but this was a CLASSIC countdown post!!!!

Good morning, MMC!

I was woken up early, so I have started getting things sorted out for the day. There is a cookie sheet full of green peppers drying in the oven ~ the scent of peppers is rather strong at the moment. The oven is helping to warm up the house ~ it was 59 when I woke up. Didn't feel too bad to me, but the cats were upset. They have calmed down and are now both sleeping, as is Bo. He climbed up the stairs himself this morning ~ I guess it was too cold for him when he was outside. I'm glad he was able to climb, but I really don't want him doing that without someone by him ~ it is so easy for him to take a tumble and I don't want him to get hurt. I am working from home today ~ going to log in and see if any work was sent for me to do and then I have a lot of stuff to take care of for the store. Found some good deals at a couple of estate sales yesterday and I have to find a place to store three boxes of glassware and Christmas items.

Take care, everyone, and have a most MERRY day!

Oh, Meceka little Bo is my thoughts, wishing him all good days for much, much longer...

Of course Scooby gets the sofa!!! You sound just like me!

As I tell everyone, "This house belongs to my fur children, they are just nice enough to let me live here".

My son is the same as me too. I will go in his room and see our cat standing on his desk blocking his monitor. My son will not move him at all and let him block it and then baby him. He just waits until he moves on his own then continues with computer stuff afterward. LOL!

CAH!!! Perfectly put... Or should I say... PUUURRRRR-Fectly put LOL

Hey Christmasstar, You should start a thread of having people come up with ideas for a Christmas Carol for your Gingerbread House theme. I am enjoying the ideas everyone has here and it would be fun to see what the rest of MMC comes up with

Good idea I have to go look for it

I love when those special Christmas only treats start to show up in the stores! We have a special chocolate store here in town the make the most amazing hand pulled candy canes.
It is so great to hear about couples who love to surprise each other, shows how much they love and care for each other. You are so blessed.

Wow hand pulled candy canes that is the coolest

I do peppers every fall, use a mixture of hot and sweet. When they are all good and dry, put them throught the grinder and they make and amazing spice for dips, chili ect.

CS thanks for the handy tip

Thursday hello, BTW

Yesterday evening I also saw peppermint sticks that were labeled as "cocoa stirrers." I never saw them before, but they look like the porous type of peppermint stick rather than the hard, shiny kind. Some people like to stick them into oranges or lemons and suck the juice out through the peppermint stick. I like this idea, I will have to keep my eyes open for them

We are SO blessed to have the feelings we do for each other. Not to brag, but ... the little nice things others do for their spouses on anniversaries and Valentine's Day, we do throughout the year. So we don't make much of a fuss about Valentine's Day or anniversaries.

I like reading about what I call "Epic" couples, you and Mr. as well as a few others on here need to be on that list, it is all too often the little things that makes couples grow strong together as well as the little things done or not done that can start to rip at the seems...

I think your right there about the house they think they own it . my parrot jake he has 3 keys bitten of my laptop , but i only care a wee bit lol

LOL my kitty Bella stole a few keys from the lap top!!!!

@Meceka: Yes, we are very happy that my dad is fine. In the last couple of years there was a flood around here at least once a year. It is normal when you live in a mountain country. :-) But I am grateful we live up on a hill therefore we will never have water inside the house.

So happy to read that about your Dad

@Christmasstar: Wow you already have frost? That is so cool. I am afraid we have to wait till November or December until we will have frost here.

Same here but a few miles from the City (north) they will have there 1st frost tonight!!! BRRRRRRR

Finally after four working days of very very slow internet servers, they solved the problem! It is so great to be able to do your work without lagging sytems.

Here the weather is still around 59-60 fahrenheit (14-16 Grad), which is still pretty warm. I'm waiting impatiently for the day when it is so cold I can wear my thick hoodies (bought in Carmel, CA)!

Christmasstar has her thread up now:

Be sure to go there to give her suggestions on her Gingerbread House. To those who already made suggestions here, go there to list them again. I loved what you all came up with already!

Good Luck, Christmasstar!!!

Thanks CAH

Good morning everyone. We are enjoying a nice cool day here. Temp was 40 when I left for work this morning and looking at a high around 60.

I am going to have kind of a lonely long weekend coming up. The youth from our church, including our son, are going on their annual retreat. There are so many high schoolers going this year, they needed another female adult so my wife is going also. Our church youth leader has an uncle that lets our youth use his beach house near Carolina Beach, NC for a 4 day weekend each fall. It is a time for the youth to be alone with God. No electronics are allowed on the trip. Each youth has a 2 hour alone quiet time daily for Bible study & prayer and are encouraged to keep a journal. They also have intense group Bible studies daily. This year's theme is Psalms 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God...". Of course, they have time for fun also. Each year they come back more determined to make a difference in their school and to show off Jesus Christ in their daily lives.

They leave tomorrow morning and return Monday evening. Monday is a teacher workday so they only miss one school day. We are such a small community, the High School knows about it since there are quiet a few kids that will miss. Have to admit, I'm a little jealous of my wife and son. Wish I could go on this trip and wish I would have been involved is something like this when I was in HS. But it is a youth trip and I still have to work.

Have a blessed day everyone.

MG, sounds like a great weekend for your son & wife. What a lovely program put together by your church & the members.
