Beautiful picture, Solice ~ thank you for sharing!

Hello everyone. I hope you all enjoy your weekend. My kids are headed off to a pumpkin patch with the grandparents, so my wife and I get a date night!
Hard to believe it's only one month until the season officially starts here on the forums. I usually start it right after Halloween, and that's only 18 days! Starting next weekend there's a ton of Halloween activities we'll be taking the kids to, so they'll be getting some free candy. When they get candy, I get candy! Should be fun. Have a great weekend!

Ahh, I love pumpkin patches!! Hope the kids have fun & you & your wife have a wonderful date night!

I am very behind but I think I read everything! Lots of interruptions here but nothing bad, just busy!

Got a very busy weekend so I will try to be on when I can.

Caninemom, take care of yourself! I hope you are out of pain soon!

Binger, take care as well.

Snowflake, good to see you back!

Thanks, CAH!! Good to be back!

Christmasstar, this is for Penny... 2984976894037!

^^Love it^^ Penny is just too cute!!

Hello, everyone! I just wanted to say that I received an honorable mention award from the Journalism Association of Community Colleges last weekend, for an article I wrote in my college's magazine last Fall. I'm so happy to be an award winning writer.

A big congrats to you, Spyells!! What an achievment!!

Hope all is well Binger and you heal up real fast

Thinking of you, Binger!!

Snowflake oh man your post was touching you are such a great member here will miss you bunches but I really want you to do well on your tests and be sure your move goes OK, just remember when you need stress relief we are here for you ((((((((((HUG))))))))

Thanks a bunch, LB! Very sweet of you to say.
I feel so blessed to have friends like you here @ MMC. What a magical & wonderful place!!

LOL you have my vote!!!!

It's Friday Yea!!!!! I just woke up, got my coffee and here I am.... ugggg! I had to work a double+ last night and didn't get home till 8:00 am this morning. 32 hours of ot this week.... that's a long week!

Wow, I awoke to the feel a real crisp breeze blowing thru the window, and now I can really feel Fall's cool touch in the air. Yes, I believe I'm going to get another cup of coffee and make a nice fire in my fireplace. I'm going to also try to get caught up in the posts, I hope everyone had a nice day so far and I wish you all a safe, relaxing weekend for yourself and with your families.

Me, my daughter is coming home from college for a few days and I am planning on taking her and some of her childhood girlfriends out to a fall festival in Western maryland tomorrow and then stop at a roadside farm stand/ store up there and let them all pick out pumpkins for themselves. I sort of wanted to give them a little break from their studies and let them regress a bit to feel like they did when they were younger.... after that I believe I have a special someone that is looking at me right now, that wants me to work on her honey do list.... Ahhhh, a hubby has to do what a hubby has to do!!!! Talk to you later!

Have a fabulous time w/ your daughter!! What a lovely thing to do for her & her friends. And good luck w/ the honey do list =)

Why do I even bother with cleaning my apartment when I know my nieces are coming over?

 I can sympathize with you! I'm admittedly a bit OCD about my place, too. Except the one I get annoyed w/ is Adrian, lol.

I am going to retire for the evening, I have to head back to work in the a.m. then we are taking the boys to Six Flags.

Just watching Gremlins now, I love this movie.

Good night all!

Have a great time today @ Six Flags, xmas!!

Good morning!
It's so cold here today.
But the sun is shining so it's beautiful!
I really love this time of year....

As some of you know I administrates a few discussions forums in Norway.

One is the only Christmas forum in Norway (Bulletin, just like this)
And finally members are comming back, falling into the Christmas spirit
It's about time! Yes? So I have a lot to do "backstage" and my moderators have finally some work to do.

The funny thing is, I am more active here
I have twice as much posts here then in my own forum.
Even I have had my forum up since 2007.

My Christmas forum is 'my baby', and I love it.
But I think here I can be just 'me'....and not 'the boss'

And that's a big difference!

And at MMC there is something happening all year round!
And I must have an 'american heart', because I LOVE everything about
the American Christmas! (all Holidays actually)

Well, I have some shopping to do. I'll be back later!!

Have a SUPER Saturday! =]

LOVE

And we are blessed to have YOU, my friend!!
Hope you have a beautiful, Christmassy day! xo

^^What a great idea!! GORGEOUS!!!!!!!^^

Good afternoon Christmas family !!

Nothing too much going on today. My main plan today is to finish up matching folks and letting them know they have a partner in the ornament exchange. Last year at this time I was done far in advance of this date....I guess things just happen !! I do feel bad for the members who in good faith signed up last year (Christmas star and Irish Snow to name two that I know of and I am sure there are more) and did not receive an ornament. This makes me very sad and upset. I understand that circumstances can change but I am hoping that this year if someone cannot send their partner an ornament to at least please be courteous enough to LET THEM KNOW or LET ME KNOW. Okay. I'm done. This has become a pet peeve of mine because I want EVERYONE to enjoy the exchange equally !!

It is quite chilly here still and that is just fine with me. I see it is supposed to go up to 73 sometime soon here and I can't wait til those warm temperatures are GONE.

Right now we are watching a CLASSIC bad horror movie from 1958....The Attack of th 50 Foot Woman....My goodness. Folks thought this was scary ????

Have a wonderful and Christmassy day everyone !! xoxo

That is unfortunate that some people didn't get an ornament last year =[
I hope that this year's exchange goes well, and all involved treat others the way they would want to be treated.

I am really going to miss the card exchange this year! But, with the move, it just won't work out. Next year again, for sure!!

And maybe the ornament exchange too! I haven't done that yet, either. Lots to look forward to for next year :-D

Saturday hello :-) ...

Kinda busy today. We have to settle some business with the cable TV company (they're doing away with our channel package, so we have to pick another one, and we may switch our Internet service to them) and do some household paperwork that the deadline is creeping up on. Not biggies, but they're time-consuming and require our complete attention. Mr. has to work from home tomorrow, so we'll whip up a lunch here. Today, though, we'll probably go out while we can. It's brilliantly sunny out there and it's a brisk 50 F.

Hope you're having a cozy fall day!

Good evening MMC community! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend so far. :] I feel very strange that Saturday is almost over (at least in Europe ^^). Time flies! My day went very well. There was international student lunch organised by campus' headmaster so I attented it. It was so great to meet other international students with whom I haven't met before at the university. It was so great to communicate with foreign students, especially with those who came from so far away, like Azerbaijan, Nepal or Pakistan. I think being a part of multicultural society is definitely the biggest advantage of studies abroad. :]

Glad you had such a nice day, Victoria!!

My family & I hosted foreign exchange students when I was younger, it was a great experience!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend =] :rudolph:

Good Morning, Christmas family!!

Happy Saturday!

It's beautiful here today, sunny & cooler. I have the windows open, and I'm sipping on some hot apple cider.

What are your plans for the day?

I need to do some laundry, work on some packing, and read some more in my course book.

Hopefully, Adrian & I will find a good spooky movie for tonight.

Hope you all have a lovely day!!!

:pumpkin: :witch:

Good afternoon, MMC!

It is a dreary, rainy day out ~ I love it! Went to Goodwill this morning, didn't find much. Then went to the Mission store in my town, and I found a lot! It was the first day of their Christmas sale ~ books, ornaments and cookware galore. One of the ladies waiting in line was singing "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" ~ LOVE it!!! The only thing I did not like is the way people cut in front of you there ~ grrrrrrr! Good thing I was the first in line ~ I made right for the boxed ornament section and came away with four Shiny Brite boxes, mostly full of Shiny Brite ornaments. Those are for the store, though. They are nice, but not as nice as the ones my dad left me. The Hallmark Keepsake ornaments I found are for me ~ cats and mice (of course, right?!) cheesy

I am sitting in the kitchen, a Yankee Candle "White Christmas" is burning on the stove ~ smells like pine in here. I think I have to bake something!

Have a MERRY day!!!!

Aww, lucky you. I wish I had Christmas candle right now. ^^ Your bakery should bring even more cosiness and Christmas mood.

I sudenlly became inspired by your post and I'm off to make a cup of hot milk with honey and take some ginger biscuits. Ginger reminds me Christmas.

It would have been so much fun if you could have gone shopping with me! I'm leaning towards baking something easy ~ either a rhubarb dump cake or magic cookie bars. Hugs back to you and Har!

Good evening, Christmas family

Just winding down another day. It is cool here this evening but not as cool as last night - it was plain freezing last night !! I love it though. There is nothing better to me than when it is cold outside and I have a nice cozy fire in the fireplace. It will soon be time to put up the tree and I can't wait. My Wish who is 16 (80 years old in reality !!) acts so feisty sometimes you would never know he is an old man or that he has a heart problem !! He has arthritis pretty bad and I can tell sometimes it is a little hard for him to get around. We are a perfect duo these days. With my foot problems and pain and his arthritis we are well suited !!

I hope all have a wonderful, Christmassy evening !! xoxo

Here is one for Halloween !! xo

In the South, at least where I am from, we have a Christmas tradition that entails "juicing" an orange (rolling it on a counter, using your palm), cutting a hole, putting in a porous peppermint stick (using Bob's Peppermint Sticks), biting off each end) and sucking on the peppermint stick like a straw. It is Heaven!!!

...

There is a local Faerie Festival around these parts in early May and they have a stand that sells lemonade with the cocoa stirrer peppermint sticks. It really puts a different yet awesome spin on the drink!

That is a beautiful photo! Did you use any photo effects on it? It's breathtaking!

I know this is late, but I hope things are better for you!

Hello friends!

These last two days have been really frustrating. Without going into too much detail...well...it's just been rough. Yesterday with the testing was a mess (note to self, never register for anything under your new married name while you still have all your identification cards under your maiden name...ugh), I almost ran over a speeding motorcyclist (double ugh), and I spent hours in the social security and drivers license offices. Then today I had trouble at the bank trying to deposit wedding gift checks, followed by a huge fight with my mom which resulted in me storming out of the house. I am really upset and don't know what to do...hubs and I both believe what she said was uncalled for and there is just no reasoning with her when she's in a mood like that. Top all THAT off with the fact that I called and texted our wedding photographer again with no response still, and you've got one very unhappy person right here.

I guess I'm gonna go to bed and hope that tomorrow is a little better. Goodnight everyone.

You did a good job multi-posting, Cetacea!!!

Good Morning everyone!

Okay it is almost lunchtime here, I was trying to read all your posts since yesterday evening.

By the way this is my first multi quote post, don't know if it works.

Oh, are you sick? I hope you will get well soon. Don't let yourself get scarred by the doctor. They are human beings aswell.

I looooovvvvvvvee these! Unfortunately I hadn't any in a very long time. Need to eat some next summer!

Good idea! At the moment I am thinking about christmas gifts for my family. Actually I have to look for birthdays and christmas gifts. My sisters birthday will be in the middle of November and my moms a month after christmas. Makes choosing christmas gifts difficult.

I want to be prepared as soon as possible. I don't like a stressful advent.

Wow you have every right to be proud of her! Congratulations! It is great if kids find something they enjoy and are good at.

I hope you soon find the right house. Don't get overstressed by the good chaos.

I hope you don't think I am noisy, but could I ask you what kind of job you have? You are selling Turkey?

So cool that you met your best friend from elementary school. Hope you can stay intouch now.

I am so sorry to hear that you had a couple frustrating days. I hope life gets better soon.

It is Heaven!!!

Folks from Baltimore have a tradition of doing that with a lemon. Our friend from Baltimore tried to show us how, but it wasn't very successful. Maybe because we didn't bite off the ends of the peppermint sticks first? It took an awful lot of suction to get even a little juice. Come to think of it, we didn't roll the lemons first, either. I guess we had it all wrong!

This sounds absolutely perfect!!!

Looks like I will be setting up the tent tomorrow in the back yard and have a camp out with my girls. Lows around 50 will make chilly in the morning but I think multiple blankets on top of sleeping bags will work fine. We'll build a fire & roast some marshmellows. Maybe grill some hot dogs. Perfect month to sit around the fire and tell ghost stories.

Have a great weekend everybody.

congratulations spyells! what an accomplishment!

Oh yeah, one more thing, I bought my first Friendly's Jubilee Rolls today, one of my favorite Christmas themed desserts. Woooohoooo!

what is this? can you describe it please?

I got a fiberoptic house at a local do it yourself store....it was the last one...they took it out of their programm.....so it was only 6euros and 95 cents...I couldn´t believe my luck...cos I wanted to have one for quite some time!!!

JACKPOT!!
