Busy weekend. Spent saturday Christmas shopping and buying clothes for my new job I start tomorrow. I am:wink::snowball::mad: so excited! Today getting everything ready for tomorrow morning. I had to jump on line to read here alittle. Now I am off to read on my kindle. A Cowboy under my Christmas tree. This time a year most books I read are Christmas related! Everyone have a blessed week.

Good Morning Christmas Gang!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was pretty quiet. Saturday I was cleaning the house and went groceries shopping. Yesterday we had Thanksgiving services at our chruch. Thanksgiving isn't celebrated as big as in the USA. But the service was great and I enjoyed it very much.

Other than that we had our first Raclette dinner yesterday evening in this fall/winter season. I missed eating Raclette and it was so good eating it again. Can't wait for the colder days when we will have it more often.

Today is the first day with single digits this fall. We only have between 43 and 48 fahrenheit degree (6-9 celsius)! Snow came down to 700 meters above sea level. Down were I live we have heavy rain. I hope the clouds will be away this evening so I can seee the snow on our mountains.

Morning everyone. Had a great weekend away with my wife. Off work today to wait for the internet people coming to connect the phone and internet. Amazing how you miss something. Hope everyone has a good start to the week.

I think I just managed to follow up on all the things you wrote over the weekend. Sorry I can't anser to all of them but know I have you all in my thoughts!

Looks like I will be setting up the tent tomorrow in the back yard and have a camp out with my girls. Lows around 50 will make chilly in the morning but I think multiple blankets on top of sleeping bags will work fine. We'll build a fire & roast some marshmellows. Maybe grill some hot dogs. Perfect month to sit around the fire and tell ghost stories.

Have a great weekend everybody.

So how dit the camping went?

Good news about your Dad making it threw all those floods hope your Grandparents house was OK

My grandparents house is okay. The flood didn't reach that part of the village. Don't know if other parts were damaged by the flood though. But they didn't tell anything, so I think it was "only" the neighbour village that was affected.

Hello, everyone! I just wanted to say that I received an honorable mention award from the Journalism Association of Community Colleges last weekend, for an article I wrote in my college's magazine last Fall. I'm so happy to be an award winning writer.

Congratulations! Could I read your article somewhere online?

I work at a grocery store, I run the meat/frozen area

Oh, know I understand. My sister also work at a grocery store. So I know that this is hard work.

Why do I even bother with cleaning my apartment when I know my nieces are coming over?

Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk 2

This sounds so familiar. Only in my home it is the cats that can't apprecate a cleaned apartment. How old are your nieces? I guess when they get older they know better how to behave.

Good morning!
It's so cold here today.
But the sun is shining so it's beautiful!
I really love this time of year....

As some of you know I administrates a few discussions forums in Norway.
One is the only Christmas forum in Norway (Bulletin, just like this)
And finally members are comming back, falling into the Christmas spirit
It's about time! Yes? So I have a lot to do "backstage" and my moderators have finally some work to do.

The funny thing is, I am more active here
I have twice as much posts here then in my own forum.
Even I have had my forum up since 2007.

My Christmas forum is 'my baby', and I love it.
But I think here I can be just 'me'....and not 'the boss'

And that's a big difference!

And at MMC there is something happening all year round!
And I must have an 'american heart', because I LOVE everything about
the American Christmas! (all Holidays actually)

Well, I have some shopping to do. I'll be back later!!

Have a SUPER Saturday! =]

LOVE

Are those forums only written in norwegian? Otherwise I would like to have a look at them. Since I like norway as a country and am very interested in its customs and culture.

You are right, I like this forum because here are so many nice people and I am able to learn a lot about christmas customs all over the world. Makes it a very interesting place!

I found this huge tree in the forest, so I hang up
my ornaments I bought at QVC's Christmas in July sale

So sweet! I can't wait to hang them on my tree!

(Photo from my Christmas blog)

Wow those ornaments are beautiful!

I am soo glad it's Saturday. I've been sick since 1 a.m. this morning but (thankfully!) my furbaby, Missy, has been a good girl. I've just been in my pajamas having a Harry Potter Deathly Hallows movie marathon this weekend. My tummy is slooooowlllly getting better so I hope to make some beef ravioli in my crock pot later today.

I'm looking forward to all the Christmas CDs coming out within the next few weeks and all the new decorations.

Wish you a speedy recovery!

What a long day! My mom is really sick, so if anyone can, prayers would be really appreciated. I need a good Christmas movie to wind down the weekend today or tomorrow. I can't wait for the season!! Walmart needs to put their dang wrapping paper out already - we all know how I feel about that! I search the aisles every time and I think the employees all know me by now to know what I'm hunting for lol!

Your mother is in my prayers! I hope she will get better soon!

Good afternoon!
Cold but sunny day here...

I just made waffles for lunch and are now enjoying my coffee.

I have a headache. And it's been there since last night.
Medicine dont work.
So I guess I just have to take it easy for the rest of the day.

Wish you a beautiful Sunday wherever you are in the world! ♥

Seems like it is headache weather! I had a headache on saturday evening and on sunday morning. Luckily it went away after I slept some hours after church.

Good morning, MMC!

Another rainy day here ~ we really need the rain so I hope it lasts a long time! After I made my cookies yesterday, I decided to lay down and take a nap ~ it was a little after six and I don't usually nap all that good, but my head was aching and I had to do something. Four and half hours later I woke up long enough to check on the cats and then back to sleep I went. I must have really needed the sleep as I got over 12 hours in. I'm really behind on everything again though, and I missed the Greasy Skillet ~ that bums me out more than anything.

Today will spent playing catch up ~ and if time permits, reading and knitting.

Have a MERRY day!!!

You really needed the sleep then! Sometimes it is just neccessary to take a long sleep.

So, I like to tell everyone I do not listen to Christmas music until November 1. Yet, 101 Strings Orchestra's "The Glory of Christmas" seems to be mysteriously playing on my computer.

Strange, that.

My sister is always scolding me whenever I listen to christmas music before November! Yesterday I suddendly heard her summing a german christmas carol. Guess summing is okay but playing not! :-?

Good Evening!

I have a busy day tomorrow.
Im taking my 8 year old son (one of them) to the hospital for
some new blodtest and stuff. Controlling the celiac disease ++
And I have so much to do here before we can leave 8:30 AM

So Im off to bed. And pray that I get a good good good night sleep.
I really need that! .....!!

Goodnight!

Oh, I hope the results are good! How is he dealing with this disease?

A picture that I took this evening

Good evening, MMC! How did everyone spend their weekend? Any plans for this week? It was a pretty quiet weekend here. The temperatures were actually nice, so my family spent a lot of time outdoors today. We are thinking that this is the last "nice" day of fall where it won't be too cold. It is hard to get the energy to go outside when the temperatures are in the 40s or 30s!

Last week was such a busy week, I feel like I spent so much time each day running around. I had classes, appointments, errands, etc. It is so hard to find any time to relax when you're so busy! When I wasn't running around I was spending time with my friends - it was nice to be able to relax with my family this weekend.

I have been seeing so many Christmas-related things these days. I saw a Target commercial the another night where there was a village all lit up and snow. Then the Target dog came on and was wearing a Santa hat :] The stores have been putting more and more decorations out. I went and purchased a few baking/cooking magazines completely filled with Christmas goods. I am so excited to try making some things! Christmas is coming quickly! Just think - a few more weeks and we will be at November. Crazy, huh?

Well, I am off to relax for the night because I am sure I will have another busy week ahead. Some of my favorite shows are on Sunday nights, so I am about ready to watch them and be lazy! Have a good night and a fabulous start to your week!

This tree just looks beautiful! Our Trees here aren't colored that brightly yet.

The stores here are starting to but out christmas related things. They already sell christmas chocolate and a few decoration article. In the coming weeks there will be much more. People in my country aren't very happy with it though. Here christmas is only on full appear during advent. Things are just different in europa!

Good evening!!

What are you up to?

Adrian & I are making dinner, steaks on the grill & au gratin potatoes.

We are exhausted!! Packed a lot today, even though you wouldn't know it just looking around the house. And we are sore, lol. I see a bubble bath in my future.

Hope you all are having a wonderful night!!

GO PACK, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now don't do too much that y'all hurt yourselves.

Also, should I make sliced carrots or baby carrots to go with the turkey?

For now, I am going to go upstairs and read for a few hours

Good night everyone

so happy to see you so excited justme324! good luck w/ the new job!!!
what will you be doing?

She gets 4 weeks paid vacations a year and in most cases I really do get the whole week off! It's rare they ask me to babysit when they are off work. They usually have family stuff planned that involves the kids.

I am excited about having the week off but I tend to miss the kids too!

i hope you enjoy your week off & get all the stuff done you want.

Good Mid-October Morning, Friends of the Season.

Ready for a new week?
Ready to move another week closer to Christmas?

Well, ready of not, the following figures warn all readers that it's getting close:
Days to the Season: 29 (Four weeks from tomorrow!)
Days to Christmas Day: 71 (Ten weeks from tomorrow!)
Great balls 'o fire, time's a wastin'!

Very pleasant here yesterday with the high in the low 70's.
Lots of sun and no rain.
Great!
We have 63 degrees currently here in the capital city.

Say! Will you have a Marvelous Monday?
Knowing that each and every one of you is infused with the spirit of the Christmas Season, I have every confidence that you will!

good morning y'all! it's warming up around here so we had to close the windows & turn the a/c back on this morning. :( after the summer power bills i would love to get it waaay down now.

my daughter is a junior in high school & she has her ring ceremony tonight @ the school. @ 1st she wanted something new to wear & wasn't going because she didn't get it. i was kind'a upset so she decided to go anyway.

i sure hope i end up doing some of the things i need to today.

have a good 1 y'all!:rudolph:

hey cetacea, what's Raclette?

I hope I'm able to explain it. Raclette is a original swiss traditional meal. Raclette are cheese slices which are put into an little pans:

kaltenbach-raclette-pan.jpg

Then the pans are put into a Raclette Oven, which can looks like this:

b_4011833300713.jpg

The cheese will melt and we eat it (like you can see on the picture) with jacket potatoes, meat like bacon, saucages, different kinds of vegatables and other things. If the cheese is heated up enough it looks like this:

Raclette.jpg

There are special kind of cheese, since not all cheese brands will melt well when heat up. We usually only eat it it during fall and winter. It is very yummy but one should be very hungry otherwise you won't be able to eat much of it.

Another Monday means another week closer to the Holiday Season!

Just played 4-5 Xmas songs as part of my weekly countdown to the holidays incl. Michael Buble's Jingle Bells / Manhensteam Roller's Deck the Halls and from the Charlie Brown Xmas album, Greensleeves, one of my favorite albums of the Holiday Season but there are so many, it's hard to narrow it down to just a few.
Then ended with Barenaked Ladies' take on God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

Another week closer, only 10 weeks to Xmas Eve!

To some, that seems like a lot, but I know that this will go by so quickly especially once Nov comes around.

Have a great week all!!

Cheers!!

Good morning, MMC! How are you all doing this morning? How are your families?

I could not drag myself out of bed this morning. Why is it that I can never get comfortable at night, yet I could probably be upside down and still comfortable in the morning? Lol. I was about to literally roll myself out of bed so I couldn't lay around any longer! I have a lot going on with my classes this week. I finished a few projects this weekend, quizzes, and assignments. I have a test this week as well as a quiz today, so school is definitely keeping me busy.

I think I am going to start all of my Christmas shopping the last week of October. I am still trying to decide right now what I want to buy for everyone, so once I narrow it down a little more I will be ready. I think I am going to get a lot of online shopping out of the way first. Then when the stores get all decorated and pretty in the mall, I will head there and finish whatever is left of my shopping. I love the smell in the mall during the holidays. There is a booth that sells nuts and candies that always smells like cinnamon. I can't resist so of course I end up buying someone a gift from there!

The most difficult person to shop for will be my twenty-five year old brother. I already have a million gifts in mind for my mom, and my dad is simple when it comes to shopping. My brother, however, always stumps me. I don't want to get him sports jerseys because I feel like someone does that every year. He doesn't really play video games anymore. Clothes always work but if I am getting someone a few gifts I don't want them to open just clothes. Even though he's an adult it's always nice to get a surprise or something fun! Last year I got him a few things and a gift card for his favorite store - but I want to opt out of the gift card route this year. Oh well, I guess I need to do some brainstorming!

Now that my mind is filled with Christmas shopping, I better drag myself away to get ready for school. Have a good day, everyone!

Morning all!!

Happy Birthday to her!
38 more days until Thanksgiving....
Yay!!
39 more days til Black Friday....
I can't wait for that day too!!
good morning y'all! it's warming up around here so we had to close the windows & turn the a/c back on this morning. :( after the summer power bills i would love to get it waaay down now.
That's the weather is here and will be up until sometime in November. I want it to get cold and stay cold!
