Today is my parent's 47 year wedding anniversary!!! I just love them (of course I do ), they are an awesome couple!

It is also my son-in-law's birthday today!

Big celebrations going on today!!!

Oh well, the camping in the backyard started well but didn't last. About 1 am my 8 year old woke me up to tell me she was cold so I let her go to her bed. Less than an hour later my 7 year old did the same thing. I wound up sleeping on the couch because I didn't want to wake up the Mrs. I promised them we would try again in the spring when the nights would not dip into the 40's and they had no problem waiting until then.

I wish your parents a great anniversary! 47 years being married is wonderful and unfortunately it is more and more rare.

Oh, and I wish your son-in-law a joyful birthday.

Monday hello :-)

Morning everyone. Had a great weekend away with my wife. Off work today to wait for the internet people coming to connect the phone and internet. Amazing how you miss something. Hope everyone has a good start to the week.

We're switching Internet providers from DSL to our cable company, and they're coming Saturday to get us set up. We've had DSL for years, but it was getting unreliable. Besides which, when we have a problem, the ISP blames it on the phone company's system, and the phone company insists the ISP is responsible, and we get stuck in the middle. Once our service was out for 10 days. Service with the cable company is less expensive (even after the introductory rates expire) and their support is more accessible. I'm not looking forward to changing the email addresses (which we've had since about 1996) and moving the websites, though.

I hope I'm able to explain it. Raclette is a original swiss traditional meal. Raclette are cheese slices which are put into an little pans:

Then the pans are put into a Raclette Oven, which can looks like this:

The cheese will melt and we eat it (like you can see on the picture) with jacket potatoes, meat like bacon, saucages, different kinds of vegatables and other things. If the cheese is heated up enough it looks like this:

There are special kind of cheese, since not all cheese brands will melt well when heat up. We usually only eat it it during fall and winter. It is very yummy but one should be very hungry otherwise you won't be able to eat much of it.

Mmmm---melted cheese ... I'd love to try raclette ... reminds me a little of "welsh rabbit."

good morning y'all! it's warming up around here so we had to close the windows & turn the a/c back on this morning. :( after the summer power bills i would love to get it waaay down now.

my daughter is a junior in high school & she has her ring ceremony tonight @ the school. @ 1st she wanted something new to wear & wasn't going because she didn't get it. i was kind'a upset so she decided to go anyway.

i sure hope i end up doing some of the things i need to today.

have a good 1 y'all!:rudolph:

I hear you about the power bills !! Here in Ohio we have First Energy/Ohio Edison and I think we are going to practically owe our souls !!

Good luck to your daughter and I hope today goes exactly like you want !! xo

This looks so delicious, Cetacea !!! xo

On the positive side, The Walking Dead comes on tonight....I'm stoked. We are about to eat and watch the final episodes of last year. See yall later tonight or in the morning!
I've been hooked on The Walking Dead, too. I just watched the end of season 2 on Netflix. I can't watch it on the airdate because of the kids, so I had to wait a year for season 2 on Netflix. Now I gotta wait a year on season 3!
:zombie:

Another Monday means another week closer to the Holiday Season!

Just played 4-5 Xmas songs as part of my weekly countdown to the holidays incl. Michael Buble's Jingle Bells / Manhensteam Roller's Deck the Halls and from the Charlie Brown Xmas album, Greensleeves, one of my favorite albums of the Holiday Season but there are so many, it's hard to narrow it down to just a few.
Then ended with Barenaked Ladies' take on God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

Another week closer, only 10 weeks to Xmas Eve!

To some, that seems like a lot, but I know that this will go by so quickly especially once Nov comes around.

Have a great week all!!

Cheers!!

Your selections for Christmas music are some of my very favorites too !!! xo

Good morning, MMC! How are you all doing this morning? How are your families?

I could not drag myself out of bed this morning. Why is it that I can never get comfortable at night, yet I could probably be upside down and still comfortable in the morning? Lol. I was about to literally roll myself out of bed so I couldn't lay around any longer! I have a lot going on with my classes this week. I finished a few projects this weekend, quizzes, and assignments. I have a test this week as well as a quiz today, so school is definitely keeping me busy.

I think I am going to start all of my Christmas shopping the last week of October. I am still trying to decide right now what I want to buy for everyone, so once I narrow it down a little more I will be ready. I think I am going to get a lot of online shopping out of the way first. Then when the stores get all decorated and pretty in the mall, I will head there and finish whatever is left of my shopping. I love the smell in the mall during the holidays. There is a booth that sells nuts and candies that always smells like cinnamon. I can't resist so of course I end up buying someone a gift from there!

The most difficult person to shop for will be my twenty-five year old brother. I already have a million gifts in mind for my mom, and my dad is simple when it comes to shopping. My brother, however, always stumps me. I don't want to get him sports jerseys because I feel like someone does that every year. He doesn't really play video games anymore. Clothes always work but if I am getting someone a few gifts I don't want them to open just clothes. Even though he's an adult it's always nice to get a surprise or something fun! Last year I got him a few things and a gift card for his favorite store - but I want to opt out of the gift card route this year. Oh well, I guess I need to do some brainstorming!

Now that my mind is filled with Christmas shopping, I better drag myself away to get ready for school. Have a good day, everyone!

I have a really hard time dragging myself out of bed too even though I work at home !! How is your mother, Jennifer ??? Keeping her in my prayers xo

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was a busy weekend again. Nancy kept two of our little great nephews Friday, all day Saturday and Saturday night, while their mom was away at a wedding. Nancy kept them at their house so they would be in familiar surroundings. So, needless to say, I didn't get any sleep with my wife away.

Jacob and I went hunting at 6 am Saturday, then we worked all afternoon on different things, then hunted that evening. I was beat by last night, and slept like a baby. Ahhhh!

Did anyone else watch the space jump yesterday? 833 MPH?!?! Wow!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy
