Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Wow, it's crazy here at work today. Doggone engineering consultants for the power companies are trying to prove that they are needed, so they force me into revision after revision. Grrr.

My mom has decided to visit the Smoky Mountains by herself since no one else can take to go with her. I don't usually mind her going alone; her place is in a great area, and she's still very capable and independent, but she's getting over a recent shoulder surgery. She saw her doctor this morning, and he released her to drive and told her a trip like this was ok, so who am I to try to stop her? I'm just jealous that I can't go, too!

My parents will be 85 (Dad in December) & 84 (Mom in February) They are both doing pretty well - my Dad likes to grump. Lol! He had a dehabilitating stroke when he was 69, so things are harder for him sometimes. But generally they are both really good - Mom takes water aerobics at the Y 3 days a week... but yes, we always worry about them! I hope your Dad is feeling better quick!

Bless your parents !! They sound wonderful !! My father was 47 when I was born and my mother was 40 !! They were in their 60's when I was in my late teens !! And in their late 70's in my 20's. They were always very active too !!

Good morning everyone. It is too warm here for me. Yesterday, today and for the next couple of days highs in lower 70s and lows in lower 40s. But better weather is coming, starting Sunday forecast highs are lower 50s and lows in lower 30s. Much better mid fall weather.

I have a lot of leaves to move. Our home is in the woods so I just rake/blow them away from the house and off the driveway. I worked on it this past weekend but lots more have fallen since.

Can't believe how fast time is moving by. Our family's Christmas season always starts the weekend of Nov 9. It is son's birthday and since he was 5, we go to Pigeon Forge for the weekend to celebrate. They turn on their Christmas lights that weekend and we always look forward to it. Our son will turn 17 this year so he probably will not be going with us too many more times.

Hi MerryM !! I think Hermione is getting better !! She certainly has not even acted sick !! Her doctor was not in today as this was his day to do surgery but he will be there tomorrow...I am planning talking to him even if the swelling is all gone.......I don't want to take chances with one of my babies !! xo Thank you for asking about her xoxoxo

Mr. sent me this link, and I had to post it here. It's the commercials from the first broadcast of the Rankin-Bass "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"---featuring Santa's elves! (P.S.---I also submitted it to the Videos section of MMC.)

He also tells me that in the opening credits, the star on top of the Christmas tree is round in the center because it originally spun around to reveal the round GE logo!
