Days to the Season: 15 (Two weeks from tomorrow!)
Days to Christmas Day: 57 (Eight weeks from tomorrow!)
Days to Halloween: 2 (The day after tomorrow!!)
The rolling year is slipping away like a greased eel.

Steadily colder as the days go by.
Windy too!
I show 47 degrees here at this hour with rain, and the "feel" of cold is just around the corner.

Be you warm or be you cold, be you stormy or calm, you have a Marvelous Monday in the spirit of the situation.

Good morning, Christmas family

Just caught up on the posts here and drinking my coffee. I checked and there is no work at least right now. I was thinking today might be a normal day and tomorrow would be the day w/o work but I guess not. I know they were asking that as many jobs as possible be typed and the system left as unloaded as possible because of the storm. I certainly want ALL to stay SAFE but I was not counting on not having work possibly for two days. That going to REALLY impact my first of the month pay. Oh well. Storms happen and nobody human can stop them.

Right now, Hermione is curled up next to me, my Lily (feline) is asking to go out into the breezeway and sit. I don't think she is going to like it - It is freezing cold and raining pitchforks but I will let her check it out. She and smokey often go out there and just look out the windows. I think they are pretending they are lions or something in the jungle ! (LOL)

Because of all this wetness my condition is really flaring this morning even with the medication. I cannot even IMAGINE what it would be w/o it !! I think I am going to go ahead and change my signature to a Christmas one !! I really like Halloween but I am so anxious to get on with the Season !!

Still on my diet but I didn't lose anything this week, in fact my weight is up a bit. Such is the course of dieting. It goes like that sometimes. I will just keep on keeping on and see what happens !!

The wind is supposed to be hittting us here in our section of Ohio soon. I am still so afraid of that.

Good Monday morning everyone. We are praying for all of you in Sandy's path.

We are seeing some effects of the storm. Our weather is a little cool. It was breezy and 37 when I left for work. We are expecting winds in the upper 20's/low 30s and about 4 inches of snow. October snow is rare for us. We have a lot of trees and will probably lose power. We have a well so we have no water when we lose power. I filled one bathtub up with water to refill the the toilet and be able to flush. Our fireplace is our backup heat so we have firewood ready. Hopefully we are ready.

Everything went fine he said and I feel good...I just got home and am looking at my webcams at beech mtn..nc and I see snow!!! the ones I have in Wv and maryland are all offline..they are under a blizzard warning. it's 50F here with wind..blowing away alot of our leaves that have yet to change colors...but I am just glad it's cold now!!! have a great monday everyone.and stay safe!!!!

Ah yes....I can understand why those webcams are offline. The storm hasn't even hit us yet, and things are already going crazy with wind and rain here. The temp keeps dropping, and I understand that the folks up in Gaithersburg might see snow. I wouldn't mind seeing some myself, but not under these conditions.

Glad you're home from the Doctors office. I advise hot chocolate and a good nap (as long as it's OK with your Dr.)

Hey everyone. Coming home from FL tomorrow afternoon. Flying into PA (not eastern). Please pray that I am able to get home - otherwise I am stuck here and it will be a huge mess. We are supposed to get high winds and tons of rain starting tomorrow at some point. I do not know where my plane is coming from to FL so I don't know if we will make it. Thanks - miss talking to you all!

Good Morning Christmas Gang

I hope you all had a great weekend. Over the weekend we got snow! The last two days we had winter wonderland outside. It is so much fun. Unfortunately it will warm up this week, so the snow won't last.

Hope everyone on the east cost will stay safe during the "frankenstorm".

SNOW?? It feels like it could snow today...it is in the forcast today & tomorrow, but nothinn yet. ENJOY!!

Monday hello ... Nervously waiting to see what Frankenstorm Sandy is going to dish out. We're out of the main path, but we're still expecting hurricane-force gusts of wind and sustained winds of about 30 to 40 mph later this afternoon and tonight.

I did decide to work from home, as long as the power holds out. There are a lot of trees hugging the road along my commute route that could easily come down and block the road. I'd rather be stranded at home than cut off from it. Mr. went in to his office because he takes the train. I hope they don't suddenly suspend service during the day and strand him downtown.

Glad you can stay safe at home, Merry! The husband is at work. I am so bummed about that.

The tree out front is not meant for wind. Our town planted a bunch of Braddock Pear trees years ago and they are reaching the end of their short lifetime. We lost MANY during a freak storm early last summer and some more during Irene. Mine is large and swaying from side to side... eeek. I could hear it tapping our bedroom window all night!

Those tree's are so pretty, & fast growers...too bad they don't have a longer life span! Hopefully your tree will stand strong & not cause any damage to your house or anything/anyone else!

Hi everyone! I have not been on here in a week!!! I have been very busy but we have been having fun! It's that time of year when we have lots of family things going on and will be busy from now until after Christmas.

Friday we went to the kids Halloween School Carnival, Saturday we went to Six Flags with my mom, daughter, grandkids and Wayne. My 6 year old grandson is brave this year and riding the coasters (he wouldn't in the past) but only wants to sit next to Grandpa Wayne, I guess he feels safe with him. My 3 year old granddaughter wants to ride EVERYTHING but she is not tall enough for the big coasters. My 8 year old grandson is riding all the big coasters and loves them. Sunday was church and work.

I miss you all and praying for those on the east coast. I am not sure if I can catch up on all the post from the week and hope I haven't missed any big news. Praying for all those who are ill or on hard times.

Good chilly afternoon MMC!!! Sounds like many of us are having some crazy weather. Hoping & praying everyone stays safe!!!

There's not much going on around here today. Just got a text from my niece -she said my post on Facebook (which was just a "like" on one of her pics) made her really excited for Thanksgiving for some reason. Ha ha!!! She said it made her think of all that yummy food we will be eating that makes her feel like a big stuffed teddy bear! She's so funny! Made my day!
