Lauriebear and Jayish are the 2 that still haven't checked in that were in the heart of the storm and the most likely to have damage.

Then we are still waiting to see if Jennifer, Sugar, Xmas, Xmastidings, MerryCarey, and Vsuclaribnl still have power.

I think that's everyone.
Okay, thanks! I just scanned through and saw their post but I guess that was before the storm was over. I saw Jayish on facebook last night, hopefully all is well with him too! Praying all is okay!

Oh, that's a gorgeous mug!

We were very lucky. We never lost power for more than a few seconds, and the most damage we seem to have had is a lot of twigs and small branches down off the trees. I drove in to work this morning, and had to turn around and go in a different way because the police had a road blocked off due to a fallen tree. My heart goes out to those in New York and New Jersey, and points south where there is heavy flooding. I hope JayIsh lets us know how he's doing.
There you are!!! =)

Radiation treatments will continue until after the first week of December. Plus, we drive 140 miles round trip each day. I still have a few things to do, like report cards, but now I can concentrate only on that. Thanks to everyone for your concern. I am trying to quickly read the posts to see who all has checked in from the storm.

oh sweety, i know you wouldn't have wanted this but i agree w/ your doc & the others here, you need time off. i could tell you were trying to hold out but....

like you said way back, you already have all of your planner done for your classroom so the sub they bring in will be well prepared. you're such a good person, always thinking of the others in your life.
now is time for you to rest, heal, & regain your strength. may i ask, how long are you scheduled to take radiation treatments? i am praying for you my friend. may God bless you, especially now.

Tuesday hello ... :-) We've kinda been in crisis mode for a week and a half, what with FIL's funeral followed immediately by prepping for Superstorm Sandy and dealing with the anxiety of riding that out, and I can't get my brain organized and back onto everyday things ... just kind of muddled right now. Christmas is so close that I feel rushed and almost panicky ... that's not how I want to spend the season! I'll have to sit down with the lists this weekend, get my head clear, and show myself that there's enough time to prepare AND enjoy. Mr. has a big list of friends that he sends gifts to, so he was going through the gift boxes last night, earmarking gifts for various people and listening to Christmas music. I was upstairs crocheting and trying to settle down.

gotta run, work landed on my desk!

It doesn't look like she posted here, so just to let you know, Judesmama posted on facebook that they came through ok. No damage and they still have power.

Thanks for passing that on to those of us not on Facebook---much appreciated!

she is complete denial, she thinks we all over reacted and that it was only because of her cold. The tests and continued high blood pressure say otherwise. She has to go to the stoke prevention clinic but I am sure she will fight that too.
got to love her!

Your mother sounds just like my mother !! I always knew she was okay if she was feisty and adamant about not wanting any testing !! xo

BallCoach- Did you feel the earthquake?
Did I ever! I was in the cafeteria visiting with the kids who were eating breakfast...and it sounded like a rolling thunder....and all the kids got really quite and it kinda shook for a few seconds...talk about an eerie silence falling over the building....then once we realized everything was ok and it wasn't the big one (New Madrid fault), it was back to normal...
Not to worry sir, I’m trained for evacuation efforts in the wake of a New Madrid fault event (considering we don’t have major damage ourselves!). Alabama and Mississippi will reverse lane US-72 East out of Memphis, TN to get you out and will have shelters set up and waiting!

Of course, from your area you will probably be moved west or possibly south.

Believe it or not, government agencies have a plan and train for just about every conceivable catastrophe even though there are those folks that will not comply with any recommendations or orders.

My doctor wrote a letter for me to be off work until school starts up after Christmas, January 7th. The exhaustion from radiation caught up with me. I had a hard time getting through today. In addition, I lost 10 pounds this week. I can afford to lose the weight, but just not that fast. Take care, everyone.

Bless your heart, Cheryl. I hope you feel better very soon. Still sending prayers your way!

Wow, I hope the time off does the trick for you. You're in my thoughts.

We made it through and didn't lose power! How did everyone else fare? No damage and just a wee bit of water in the basement. I am feeling so thankful this morning. My cell phone doesn't work but they are "working to restore service." I have a home phone and my husband has a work cell that is working so that's a relief! Lots of downed trees and lots of peopel without power around us.

Thinking of you all!

Glad to hear from you.

Good morning, Christmas family

Well, even though we were not in the direct path of Sandy, it hit here of course. The winds have been just terrifying. I don't know if there is damage but it certainly kept me awake. I pray that all of our MMC family who were in the direct path check in with us.......

My Hermione has to go to the doctor today. Her face is all swollen AGAIN. I am going to go along too. I should stay and work but as there is no work right now and I am not expecting too much because of the storm, I want to be there with my baby. I hope it is not anything serious. She acts just fine, full of mischief as ever. Eating great, drinking normally, just has a swollen face.

I hope all have a safe and Christmassy day xo

I will keep her in my thoughts.

We are fine here.

Anyone hear from Minta? I know she is in New Jersey.

Just letting you know I made it home safely. We were the last plane to the city - then they cancelled all of the flights after ours. Thanks for your prayers. It is getting really bad here, schools are canceled already (not my college, of course) and the worst is coming overnight. Stay safe, everyone!

Glad to hear you made it home safe! Now please stay safe!!

New York MTA confirms water in subway tunnels. Not good. Hopefully the city is back up and running before Thanksgiving.

I saw pics on the news of the subway in NJ. What a mess!!

Jayish posted on facebook that he is sitting in the dark and listening to the siding blow off of his house. Not good.

Yikes! Hopefully it didn't get any more eventful than that for Jayish!

This picture brings me comfort ....I wanted to share with all of my Christmas family so that maybe those facing this storm may find comfort too.....xo

(((SEAWATERS))) It seems like the right thing to do. Take care of yourself & get better! Always keeping you in my prayers!

good morning y'all!

i've been glued to the tv since waking up this morning.

has anyone heard from lauriebear? God be w/ her & her family.

i hope this finds everyone safe this morning. i am praying all are able to get word to us they are ok.

i took my Mama to her lung doc yesterday. i wasable to ask questions & got good info. not sure how to spell it but she has bron-chactus? she has scaring in the bottom of her lungs which causes her to cough often. not curable but treatable. as long as she stays on top of things & see's her doc regularly all should be ok. it does make her more susseptible (can't spell) to lung related illnesses.

even though my Daddy has pneumonia he went on to a doc appt. he had @ the V.A. they had done blood work a couple weeks ago & he went to get results. a good friend of his went w/ him. he explained to them what he has & they checked him out & agreed & gave him an inhaler to use also. Daddy is feeling better but still has a long way to go to be his old self again. he will just have to be patient or i'll have to hawg tie him.

i'm off today. boss said no orders there so i don't mind. i think i may do some more stuff around the house to get ready for this weekend. we put our Christmas decorations up & out this weekend. yaay!

talk to y'all later!

I hope & pray both your parents are feeling better very soon!!!

You have been through a lot recently! I can relate to that rushed & panicked mode & it's not fun! I hope you can find a way to calm yourself & enjoy the Holiday season! Keeping you & your family in my prayers!!

Good morning,

It is pretty much back to normal here, wife is at work, kids are at school and preschool, I was hoping for a day with them today. I guess it is good things are relatively okay here. I went to Kmart this morning to buy some candy for trick or treaters, which will be postponed until Sunday as a precaution before the storm got here. Then went to Goodwill shop and looked at their Christmas stuff good stuff there today, I finally picked up a copy of the book "Miracle On 34th Street" it came with a tree ornament for $2.

Something happened to the house last night though, I cannot figure out what it is. One of our rooms keeps tripping the circuit breaker, I turn it back on and it just goes right back off again. I don't know if some rain got inside the wall and is tripping it or what but it has me worried, I have it off now and I am hoping the sun being out will dry things up a bit. Looks like the electrician will be here at some point.

Oh yeah, Kmart has there Christmas stuff up, it looks great as usual.

Have a great day, and continue to stay safe.

Jay is okay! He says Sandy was scary but they got off easy.

Hi everyone!! All is okay here - just lots of rain and wind. All of our Halloween decorations are down outside and I think one of them blew away somewhere. We surprisingly didn't lose power but we had massive gusts of winds. It's still pretty windy but I am hoping the worst of it was last night.

How is everyone doing? No damage from the storm? I have been praying for everyone's safety as well as family members/homes/etc. I still cannot believe this storm hit!! Remember over a week ago I said a snow storm was coming? Well, if the temperatures were cooler here, that's what it would have been! I have been watching coverage and they said three storms combined together. It's crazy.
