Good morning! Not much going on here today! Looking forward to going home for lunch & putting up a few more Christmas decs! :) Hubby just called - he is not a happy UPS driver today! Thank you cyber sales!!! Ha ha! He says he will be out delivering until 9:30 tonight! That does not make a happy UPS man! :( Their building is down 2 drivers through this whole season - both having or had surgery. And there is only a replacement driver for 1 of them. So it could be a long season for my hubby & his co-workers!!
:give:

Hope you are all having a great day!!!

Good morning,

I leave for work in 30 minutes and my work clothes are not dry yet, I forgot to start them last night so now I will be playing it close. The Christmas gifts we ordered should start coming in today, I can't wait until everything is in after last year when things we ordered were lost or destroyed in the mail. I should probably go get ready for work, I will standing in the freezer with my clipboard counting, and freezing.

It's SNOWING now!!!

Have a great day!!!
LOL, I was just talking to my son who put mine in the dryer but forgot to turn it on! Fortunately I still have a few hours before work starts.

Have a great day at work!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I have to go to a groundbreaking ceremony today at noon for a retirement "village" being constructed just outside the Bellville city limits. Even though they are outside Bellville, they asked if I would join in and say a few words & have my picture taken with a shovel. Ah, the rigors of political life.

It's a little warmer here today than it was yesterday, but it looks like rain. I might need an umbrella with that shovel, eh?

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Such a celebrity! Have a great time, Brad.

Merry, the house smelled wonderful while I was baking them, but then my sniffer must have gotten use to the smell while I slept overnight. BUT this morning I went for a walk & when I got back home, as soon as I walked in the house I was overcome with the smell of something wonderful "baking" - Mmmmmmm! The house STILL smells great!!! All cakes are wrapped in wine soaked cheese cloth, & aluminum foil!

I miss this sort of smell at my grandmother's house. It was always delicious. Perhaps I can convince Kim to partake in some Christmas baking with me this weekend!

Good morning, everyone!

I hope you all have a great Tuesday. I can't believe we are getting so close to Christmas! This is the time where I don't mind the days going slow at all - I love to take in all of the Christmas magic :]

The doctor was able to squeeze me in for an appointment yesterday. They did two swab tests to check for strep and the rapid test said that I didn't have it. So it looks like a virus that'll just have to go away. My pulse was so high, 147, that it sent their machine blinking and beeping. I told them I've always had a high pulse because I remember counting it in gym class in school. They did an EKG and said that everything looked normal - a strong heartbeat but it was just very fast. I didn't expect for any of that to happen!

Last night was by far my worst day with the sickness, but at least I slept last night. My voice is almost totally gone, it's very weak and raspy. Looks like this will just be a waiting game.

The Grinch is on from 8-8:30 PM EST tonight, I believe. At least I think I read that somewhere. I love all of the holiday programs!

I am going to keep drinking so I stay hydrated and relax in front of the television. No school for me yesterday or today.

Have a great day!

Get better soon! At least it's only a virus...

This sounds like something I would do!

Good morning everyone!

It's been relatively quiet at work today. No complaints with that. Surprisingly, the snow has stayed here in Ottawa. It is making for quite a beautiful scene from the fifth floor office window. I'd take and share a photo but my cubicle isn't at a window.

Yesterday was a routine day. The gym was good. I'm still working on my knee. It seems to be improving. I'm hoping to have it back to full strength by the new year. I think that is a fair calendar. Obviously, I'd like to have it all healed as soon as possible - in fact, my initial target was the beginning of December - but it doesn't seem to be healing too quickly. Until then, I'll keep taking care of it.

Not much else happening. I need to do some Christmas shopping very soon! Thursday could be a good day for it! Have a great Tuesday, everyone! We're almost at the midweek and heading toward the first weekend of December!

Merry Christmas!

had dinner and now chilling before bringing kandice to bed....i will probably fall asleep too...my neck is kinda sore....stiffened up kinda

Just a quick hi to everyone!

Here is something that is giving me a big smile, my dad had mentioned on Thanksgiving Day how he was enjoying all the Hallmark Christmas movies. I was so surprised! I didn't realize he watched those. I guess he has always had a love for Christmas and I got it from him but I just didn't realize it. He is just not as outspoken as me!

My dad was just over now and discussing on what we are doing for Christmas, what food to make, who all is coming over and more. I am so happy that he is looking forward to Christmas because we were worried that since his brother (my uncle) passed away in April that it would be a difficult time for him. I think Christmas is therapy for him just like it is for me!

I am going to TRY and read some of the post on here but then I got to go. I have so many MERRY THINGS to do today!!!

I hope you all have the Merriest Day EVER!!! :merry:

Good afternoon all! Just wanted to say hello....not too much happening around here, but on Friday night my daughter and I are going to a screening of the original Miracle on 34th St. on at a theater nearby. It's actually not a movie theater (at least not these days), it's used for concerts and such, but once a month there's a screening of a classic movie, plus cartoons, movie shorts, and a prize drawing. I'm looking forward to it--of course I've seen the movie many times, but never on the big screen with an audience. It really does make a difference. I'd planned on taking one of my granddaughters to the Holiday Parade the next day, but unfortunately we'll need to go to a funeral instead. It's for a member of our church, who passed away the day after Thanksgiving, and we want to support his widow and pay our last respects. So, I guess we'll just hope for next year.

Well, have a good day!

Anne

enjoying a nice hot chocolate and reluctantly going to work. Don't get me wrong, I love my job and grateful to have one, I am just tired and would rather stay home.
Anyway, enough whining, I have to go, hope you all have a great night!!!!

Excellent news, CAH!

Awww...Thanks, Meceka. I think of you and Bo and your babies all the time. I know how you miss him. I think it's a wonderful idea to put on happy music. Clancy's toe is going down slowly. The doctor was not too concerned about it but I just don't want her to have an infection. Like I said, I am watching and if it is not totally back to normal by the time the antibiotics are gone, she is going back to the doctor...xo

I'm glad Clancy is doing better! {{{hugs}}}

I'm glad you were able to get in to the doctor sooner ~ hope this finds you better!

Oh, that sounds great! As the wife of a film collector, I agree that there's nothing like seeing a movie on the big screen with an audience. I'm going to ask a film geek question: does the theater show film, or do they do digital? Nothing beats a sparkling film print!

Good afternoon, MMC!

I had a nice day today. Went thrifting early this morning and found some Shiny Brite ornaments at one of the stores. They are solid colored, but still nice. Met up with my cousin and we went out to lunch and then hung around her house until her son got out of school. I am home now and have to do some house cleaning.

Have a MERRY evening!

It's good old 35mm film. I agree, nothing beats it! And it's on a _big_ screen, not the small ones you find in multi-plexes these days. We've been to a few of their screenings: Singin' in the Rain, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the silent version of Phantom of the Opera, Fantasia, and Wizard of Oz. And we loved every single one. But this is the first time for a Christmas themed movie!

Anne

The lights on the building are done. (you can also see the bethlehem lights wreath lit up on my door)

I'll have to take a better picture after I get the rest of my decorations out.

You are SO lucky to have a theater like that near you that runs real (reel) 35mm prints of older films. We screen 16mm in our basement for ourselves, but we only see 35mm prints of vintage films when we go to the occasional film festival, or to the Film Forum in NYC. I used to live near a 1926 movie house with a vintage theater organ that showed the occasional silent film, but they showed 16mm. As you can see, it's dangerous to get me started---vintage film is a passion in our house.

I'll second that~

That sounds great; I wish I was there to see that as well...

Don't get me wrong here, I do like alot of the new movies, But, I just love the old B&W movies. For me, I'm even talking about going all the way back deep into the 30's and some 20's. There was alot of classic movies that was made during that timeframe, real treasures... They take you back!

The shame of it all, is that there has been soooo many movies, films that have been lost over the years due to age, neglect and mishaps, that hopefully, these old films can be saved and protected so that they can last and be enjoyed by future generations yet to come...

I recently watched a TV program about how the national archives is trying really hard to preserve, cleanup and restore as many as the old films as possible and then copy them. I think that's great....

Good Morning all!! Had a bit of a rough weekend, my 2 younger girls had a nasty sickness bug :( so didn't manage to get on here.
