This place found me when I was suffering a very bad case of Post-Christmas Blues 3 years ago, and I have been hooked since. Out of all the Christmas forums I have joined, this is home.

I agree Xmas !! I think we joined at about the same time in fact. I can't imagine not coming here every day !! xo

I might just have to bring out the old prize box on this one! I might even make it a multiple gift package!

Oh great more belly button lint for prizes. cheesy

AWESOME!

Good evening, Christmas family

We DID IT !!! We gave Wishbone his very first sub q infusion all by ourselves today !!! It was really easy but I was scared to put the needle in. I just summoned up all the courage I could and inserted the needle gently but firmly and Wish didn't seem to notice !!! He is getting 200 mL of fluid per day. I am praying that it helps keep him feeling well and with us for a while longer xo

I just got done working a little bit ago and surprisingly had enough work for lines !! This is such a great company and the owner is wonderful. She and I have talked numerous times because she loves animals too !!! Much better than the last place that paid A LOT MORE but treated me like just a body to fill the position, not as a PERSON.

I will probably be back later. Take care, Dear Christmas Family !!! I love you all, each and every one xo

The snow has been falling lightly this evening. It doesn't appear that we will get a big snow fall, but it's been nice to get even a little as December nears it end.

Have a great evening all!

I think, 100 Days of a New Year with your Dogs 2013, would be a good read! I know my little doggys would enjoy every bit of it!

I didn't realize you can just download to the computer. I thought it was Kindle or Nook only. Thanks for the info!

I will send my email to you. Thanks!

It seems to me there is a Kindle ap for computers. I think I have it on my laptop.

We met with my financial planner yesterday afternoon. I can retire!!! I will be bringing home more income retired than if I work! What??? Yep! I was really sweating the income part of retirement. Scary stuff! In California, if you teach after school or do any extracurricular supervision, a special fund called a DBA is set up. DBA is Defined Benefit Account. You get credit dollar for dollar earned. I had no clue, but all my extra teaching earned me close to $40,000!!! This is in addition to my regular retirement. I can take it as an annuity, or over three years, five years, or 10 years. If I take the annuity, that's an extra $300 a month, something that I had not counted on. For three years, I would get $1260 a month, and five years would be $813 a month. I am definitely going for the regular annuity. It is like Christmas all over again for me!!!

Excellent news!

You MUST have read "Dandelion Wine," one of my all-time favorites. If not, you have a treat coming when you do!

I believe Mr. Bradbury passed away this year.

After Dandelion Wine was first mentioned on here, I went looking for it at my local library ~ they didn't have it. I was totally bummed and left without ordering it through MelCat. I should do that now. Thank you for the reminder, Merry!

 The Peppermint Patties were needed, I am just holding out for a better deal on the Santas. cheesy

I agree, Peppermint Patties are needed!

JP's Dr finally got back to us regarding his CAT Scan, everything in his brain is normal, all his sinuses were completely full and giving him the headaches, looks like it may be an allergy issue which caused a major sinus infection. We have to go back for a follow up appt to see what we will have to do about the possible allergies. Thank you for all the prayers.

I'm so glad everything is normal in his brain, but bummer about the allergies and sinus infection. I will keep him in my prayers!

I have a good chapter-by-chapter synopsis of Dandelion Wine that I just love to read through, just to remind myself of the symbolism and metaphors in the book. If anyone wants a copy, I will send it. Hopefully I will be more successful than I was with an attachment for CAH!!!

I'll take one, please.

Good evening, Christmas family !

MY BABY IS HOME !!!!!! I Am So GLAD To See Him !!!!

Wish got released from the hospital today. He seems to be feeling pretty good. The tech showed us how to infuse the IV fluids. My husband said we will do it together which is a big relief. After we got him in and settled, I went down the hall to the room where I work to get something. We have many gates in our house to keep the kids out of places we don't want them to be. Without thinking when I went down the hall I closed the gate. A few seconds later Wish was whining and crying because I left him !!! He has never done that before....My poor little man. I will never leave him again. I will leave the stupid gate open the next time !!

Just cross your fingers and a few prayers too that I will be able to infuse the fluids. I get squeamish around needles .....

Star - I hope your dear mother is okay.

Xmas - Wonderful news about JP !!

Seawaters - Congratulations on the retirement !! I wish I could retire someday but that is definitely not in the cards.

Good evening, friends~

I did some catching up, but didn't get to read all of the posts.

Seawaters, congrats on your news!! When do you think you'll retire?!
So happy for you!

xmas, very glad that JP is going to be ok. I'll keep him in my prayers that his follow up goes well.

CM3, Wish is home... :-D Yay!!!! Please give him a special hug for us. And make it a big one! I'll keep you guys in my prayers. xo

We are probably going to disconnect everything tomorrow. I'll be going nuts, not being able to check in. I'm looking forward to when we are all settled in our new place. And I look forward to talking to my Christmas family again, you guys are a real comfort to me & I always feel great when I'm on here.

Hope you guys are all doing well, and that Christmas is still going strong.

I'll check in if I can from the road, we plan to leave Sunday, bright & early.

xo

:sparkle:

I'm praying for safe travels and an easy move for you ~ take care, snowflake! {{{HUGS}}} for you and Harlowe!

Believe me, if there is one thing she isn't in right now, it's pain. That girl has been snoozing since 12:30!

That is good to hear. I hope she feels just as good tomorrow.

Generally speaking, things rev up after the holidays. During the holidays, various people are out of the office various days---both our people and clients---and that generally slows things down a bit. Once everyone is back at their desks, things pick up. Also, some clients' fiscal years coincide with the calendar year---so in January they have money to play with.

More specifically, our agency is doing well and has been picking up new clients and new employees in recent months---and of course, more clients means more work. So it'll be "nose to the grindstone" for me until I take some time off in April to go back home and (finally!) bury Dad's ashes in the family plot.

No, I didn't list them all---partly because, thanks to our interest in vintage films and having many film-collector friends, DVDs form the bulk of what winds up under our Christmas tree! This year's haul includes Thin Man movies, Charlie Chan movies, Mr. Moto movies, Ma & Pa Kettle movies, special editions (with extras) of "Meet John Doe" and "The Gold Rush," some pre-Code titles from the Warner Archive, and even Pawn Stars ... I know for a fact we won't be able to view all of these before next Christmas!

As for the splicing, as you know, Mr. has collected 16mm film prints (yes, they're legally obtained!) since his teens. He has a well-equipped editing bench and is a wizard at examining a film print, re-making poorly made splices (in a special way that doesn't cause a "pop" when the splice goes past the sound drum), editing to make damaged areas run more smoothly, and even repairing torn sprocket holes. He sometimes takes two worn, damaged, and/or incomplete prints and combines the footage to make a single good, smooth-running print. Is the effort worth it? Ah, you haven't viewed a beautifully printed 16mm print that has been expertly rehabilitated ... just last week we watched a print of the Seymour Hicks version of "Scrooge" that was struck in England in 1936 (only one year after the film was first released)---the murky, scratched, dirty versions that you see on DVDs don't do the film justice. If more people could see it as it was meant to be seen, the Hicks version would be much more popular.

[steps down from dais, blushing slightly]

I love the Thin Man movies!

I am ready for the Christmas 2013 stuff to come in to the stores now. I've already checked out Bronner's 2013 stuff. cheesy

I was looking for a certain kind of ornament the last time I was there and I found out that the stuff they are buying in the next couple of months start to go out in July cheesy

Good afternoon,

We went to see "Wreck It Ralph" this morning, it was the BEST movie I have seen in a long time, I cannot wait until it comes out on DVD now. Just enjoying vacation day #4 now watching White Christmas. We have my grandparents Christmas celebration tomorrow, looking forward to that.

How many of you are still listening to Christmas music?

We are still going strong, we still have one radio station that is playing Christmas until Jan. 6, and my MP3 player is loaded with 500+ Christmas songs. Music Choice is also helping. I am loving it.

Have a great afternoon.

I listen to Christmas music all year. Right now, though, Annie Claus is providing background to my browsing cheesy

Believe me, if there is one thing she isn't in right now, it's pain. That girl has been snoozing since 12:30!

I hope she won't be in any pain when she wakes up!

Good evening, MMC!

I wanted to wish everyone MERRY dreams!

Proud to say the wifey is up and eating chicken noodle soup....she actually kinda laughed earlier....I'm glad she is up....it has been too quiet....I see her laying there sleeping and I want to wake her up and talk to her....I hate seeing her hurt, but this is just gonna be for a few days...the doctor said that while her procedure went great, it was one of the more difficult wisdom teeth he had pulled because it was growing parellel to the gum line and into another tooth....so they had to cut some of her bone out so they could twist it out.....

OUCH
