we never named a pet until we had it for awhile and got a chance to see what name best suited him/her. Usually within a week a name would suddenly come up that everyone would agree was perfect!
Pocket because she was scared and fit perfectly in my pocket where she liked to curl up and find comfort
Penny because she had these round copper colored spots all over her.
Just wait, the perfect name will come up!

Exactly!

I am very anxious to catch up on here but we have a new family member that I am very busy with. We got a young dog and I cannot wait to share the story with you on how we rescued it. We are trying to come up with a name and my granddaughter said, "How about Mr's Claus"?! Very tempting but still thinking it over since we have a few names to consider. I just had to share that with you real quick. I just love how Christmas is always on the mind of a 3 1/2 year old!

Congratulations on your new family member!!!

Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes. My babies are safe...my wife is safe...and we have a house! Our town though, Moore, has been devistated. It missed my house by about 3/4 a mile. Several schools were hit with the kids still in there and right now search and rescue efforts are going on. Internet access is limited so I may be a no show for a while, but will try to check in as I can.

Thank you guys so much...you are all awesome!!!

I was worried about you and your family, I am glad you are all safe. I have watched the Weather channel since your last post, I can't help but feel bad for all the people in your town. They are all in my thoughts.

Yes, I do as well. I hope she can get used to it sooner rather than later, poor thing.... My next door neighbor has four minature long haired Chihuahua's and they have yet to start liking the thunder in the bad storms. She told me that all four of them hide under the covers every time they hear that or fireworks going off....

The knee, well, I'm moving it along, slowly but yet surely! I started PT last week and as they tell me, "you got to move it, move it....", sooooo, no pain, no gain; lol! I'm working it.... but if I slack off, lisa's cracking the whip on me at home; I feel so loved :-D!

Thanks for asking~

Glad she's keeping a good eye on you!!
Wives are good at that ;)
Take good care of yourself, and good luck with the PT!

I was at JP's baseball game, but I had to leave because LC was not behaving. My wife is watching JP play now. The young one is going to be such a headache to the teachers when he goes to kindergarten next year. He is so stubborn, and he tries to push everyone's buttons until he gets a reaction. We thought this was a phase, but he hasn't grown out of it yet, once again, I now know why some animals eat their young. cheesy

My service award finally arrived!

Our company offers pretty nice years-of-service awards on an escalating scale after more years with the company. This is my 25th year here (I was such young man when I started here!), and there were pages of items to choose from on the gift center website.

I finally turned down the 42" LED TV, the Samsung surround sound blue-ray system, and all the other cool gadgets and settled on a Canon DSLR camera with a wireless photo printer.

It's very cool...but I'm not sure how to work it. Back to school! cheesy

Congratulations, Brad!

Thank God you and your family are okay, Ryan! Oh, my, those poor kids in the schools that were hit! My thoughts and prayers are with them, the first responders and all affected by the tornado.

Good evening, MMC!

A nice thunderstorm is passing over right now. The rain was a bit heavy at times, but overall it was a good soaker for the garden. My first zucchini plant popped up today - yay! I have to give Mouse her meds and then I am going to read for the rest of the night.

Be safe and MERRY!!!

Hello everyone. I hate sitting at home feeling powerless. I want to be out helping, but streets are blocked just down the road and only emergency responders can get through. I understand why...I just hate not being able to do anything!

We lost about 24 kids at one of our local schools. Since my wife is a teacher we know so many people in the district, and she is having such a tough time with this! I know everyone is. I was just at that school about two weeks ago, on a Sunday, visiting with some folks who live across the street. I know their house is gone but have not heard from them.

Thanks for all the prayers. Don't get the wrong impression...my house and family are safe! But just taking the loss in the community hard.

Hope you all are having a good Monday. My dogs don't know what to think about all this...helicopters and sirens all around!

watching the news , my prayers are with all who lives have been effected by the storms, so sad and scary.
We are now under a severe thunderstorm warning which explains why it has turned so humid this afternoon.

It's just heartbreaking. I finally had to turn the tv off. I've been through them before and I've seen the destruction they can do but never on that scope.

Hang in there my friend...the days are long, but the years are short for raising your children. I know it can be frustrating!
Is it too soon to bust out the elf on the shelf to keep this little one in line?
LOL!
