A long day is coming to a close, just relaxing with my wife for her last little bit of time before her vacation comes to an end.

I went back and posted on the Christmas Song A Day thread, I am not ready to stop. cheesy

Well I'm going to cuddle up with a blanket and some warm apple cider and watch the last of the Christmas movies on hallmark by the glow of the Christmas tree. Goodnight Everyone!!!

I just went into the kitchen and noticed immediately that it was dark...I had Christmas lights over the windows and over the cabinets and left them on all night so when I took them down today and everyone went to bed it was dark and then it hits me again...well I think I am doing what a lot of folks here are doing.. watching the last of the hallmark movies.!

Just finished out the season with a DVD we got for Christmas of a Christmas night broadcast of Hollywood Palace in 1965. Hosted by Bing Crosby, with the cast of Hogan's Heroes as guests. Werner Klemperer and John Banner (Klink and Schultz) sang "Stille Nacht." With the tree still glowing, it was a wonderful swan song for this season.

Getting up and going to work tomorrow is going to be like jumping into a cold lake by comparison!

Exactly, a cold lake!!! I am hoping since its a short week that it won't be so bad. I did see that "Sounds of the Season," TV channel is still going until Jan 6th. A few more days of Christmas music is okay with me.

Well. Well. Well.

Happy New Year to all! My Wife and I went to bed before midnight! lol. Oh well. New Years isn't that big in this house. We had a wonderful busy Christmas. I'm not ready to have it end so it wont! Heh. I have the Christmas music still going in my car and home. The tree is up and lit right now and the house is still festive. I'm going to see how long I can get away with it! Why not! The neighbors still have all their stuff up and on. I love it! William loved his gifts. He keeps saying "Daddy, I love my gifts!". We did a good job this year. I hope everyone else had a good one too. Don't get the blues people. If you do we still have HERE! I found a pine yankee candle at Halmark for 12 bucks! YAY! I get excited when I find the Christmas scents. We are all recovering from a virus that has been pretty bad this year. Flu like symptoms but not the flu. You know what I don't like? When radio stations stop right away on December 26th with Christmas music. It should go through till the first week of January. Well, that's what I think. Hope everyone has a good evening!

Ahh all this food talk!! I am back to tracking what I eat and my workouts on My Fitness Pal as of a few days ago... making me hungry!

Meeee too!!! Back to walking & WW tomorrow!!!! UGH!

Just turned on all my outdoor lights, neighbors across the road have their's on behind us, their is a few on. Time to make dinner. I hope everyone is enjoying Day 1 2013.

Most of our street has their lights on yet tonight. I just love it. Looks so pretty with a foot of snow all around!

I am not ready to put down any decorations in my room or in the house. I have my tree in my room lit up right now and it looks so pretty. It's sad to think that it'll be down in a week.

It's so much more fun decorating than undecorating I would much rather have someone else do it because I hate to!

Time for some TV, my friends. I have not had a good two days. Not able to eat and just feeling blah. We went out last night, but all I ordered was English muffin and only ate half. I feel so tired and just can't shake it! TTYT

I am feeling so down in the dumps right now. I don't want to go to sleep tonight b/c I don't want to miss a minute of the remainder of Hallmark Christmas movies....though I know staying up all night is not an option. Back to work tomorrow.... and that makes me say "UGH"! too! I am dreading turning on the tv to see...no Christmas!! Booo!!! We had friends over today for our annual NYD party....it was so fun & then when they leave the "it's all over" feeling really starts to set in! I know in a few weeks the Christmas blues will be all behind us & things will be "normal" again...but for now I'm feeling blah. Thankfully we have a short work week this week!!!! :smile:

Keep something Christmassy up in your room all year long, I have a small leg lamp as my bedside light. I have a few Christmas books close by when I need them to just get me through the long year.

That is a great idea - I have a little Christmas Tree in the room where I work which I got from QVC during Christmas in July. Whenever I go in there to work or for prolonged periods of time I turn it on !! I also have a few very special ornaments on my desk that are there 365 days a year xo

Nice to see you Undrtakr !! I agree. The "real world" gets rid of Christmas practically as soon as it is over. I don't think it would hurt anything to extend movies and such through the first week of January. I personally think Music Choice should have a station that is Christmas music 24/7, 365 days a year. :-D

Happy New Year, my Christmas friends!

I've had my black-eyed peas and collards, so I'm off to a good start for my new year!

Last night, we steamed oysters and shot fireworks, then I went to bed. Today is my last day off, but I don't mind getting back to work. My schedule is waaaayyy off, so I might have a hard time getting up in the morning though!

we have a similar thing here in germany....or at least in some parts....and what other could be in Germany than

SAUERKRAUT..........we usually ate with Würstchen....it dont know if it brings luck....or money....either one is always good....usually after midnight....i have not eaten it this or the year before or three years before.....maybe i should pick up the tradition next new years.....maybe it will help
