Congratulations to your son! Is the "taps them out" thing something new that is being done?

I'm not sure. I know that I did not experience that myself when I graduated from bootcamp in 1981 (Navy). Maybe it's just an Air Force thing... I did ask about the tradition and I was told that they will not move until someone from the outside touches them, and they were right.

And, for all the autumn lovers out there...

Awesome!! Thanks, Ryan!!!!

Love those pumpkins with the old pictures on them!!

So exciting!!! =]

The pumpkin pics were shared with you in mind...and I think there are a few other of us Halloween lovers around here.

It is raining here in northern California; it is really like fall. I love it! I have on my jacket because it is a little cool to me. I am not feeling great, so I am going to go lie down and take a nap. I have a stopped up ear, too. TTYL

Hope you feel better soon!!!!!!

Good morning everyone,

I've been away for about a week (I flew off to San Antonio, Texas) to go see my son graduate from the Air Force bootcamp... Well, he did it, YEA....and he's now an Airman in the US Airforce.

After they graduated, they have to all stand still untill someone from their family "taps them out", (places a hand on them and then they can move...) Mom was the one to do so and I captured the moment on film, by reaching over top of other people to take the picture and it turned out perfectly. He was all teared up to see us, during the course of the day both him and I were able to walk along sharing with each other both of our experiences from going to bootcamp in the military.

It was wonderful to see him again and we were able to spend 3 days with him while we were there on base. We got to watch them drill, visit his barracks, see what he did, how he did things and meet other families and Airmen; it was a wonderful experience. Today he will fly home to spend time with us before he checks into his base; mom, grandmom and my daughter are picking him up at the airport right about now....

Me, I'm back at work and glad that for awhile everyone is back home (including myself); "There's no place like home, There's no place like home.....)!

Have a good day!

Congrats to your son and I'm glad to hear that you made it on and off the plane okay!!!!!!!!

Well, Hobby Lobby is an Oklahoma based company, and their corporate HQ is in Oklahoma City (it is a huge complex with offices, central warehouse, etc). So maybe we get stuff earlier. You are always welcome to move to Oklahoma! Then we could run around and would probably get into trouble.

Well I think I've been fairly productive today. I've managed to do the dishes, take out the trash, do 3 loads of laundry, make blueberry muffins, and listen to my buddy for 5 hours. Now I need some tylenol and a drink.

See, if you move to Oklahoma your buddy can't corner you and gripe for 5 hours. The downside is raging horrific tonradoes. But from what it sounds like with your buddy, you may take the tornadoes!

Good "muggy" morning my Christmas Family!

Holy Camel its hot. Summer is here. Oh speaking of that, here is something I found awesome. Just got the Sears Fall/Winter book today when I came home in the mail. Wish it was fall! Oh well. It will be here soon. Happy 6 months till Christmas eve everyone! Others may be happy its Summer, but most of US want fall/winter! I haven't seen any Christmas stuff or Fall stuff at the stores yet, but a friend of mine on Facebook posted a picture from Hobby Lobby. They are putting out more Christmas stuff! So all you American friends should check that out. When I get a chance I will be taking another trip to Michael's to check it out and see if they have anything. Time to go! Work today! Have a great day all and stay cool!
You are so right, it is so hot!
30c (86f) but feels like38c (100f)!
This is one of those run from air conditioner to air conditioner days.
Let me know if Micheal's has anything yet as we will be in London on July 5 for the day.

Hello all!!!! I have been away so long I almost feel like I should reintroduce myself . I hope everyone is doing well! I have a cold myself, that's right, in the middle of a heat wave and I have a cold, go figure. Other than that things are going okay for me, I think I am getting closer to that earlier shift at work. The latest person they hired looks like is going to stay, they just need to hire or transfer one more person and that will do it. They are also trying to bring in a lot more business, which will open up opportunities for promotion, at least that's what I heard.

Well I hope everyone has a great Monday and week, I will try to make an effort to be on here more often.
I remember you!

Hope your cold goes away quickly!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be another hot one here in central Indy with a high of 89 degree's and high humidty. I didn't get much sleep again last night so I don't see me getting a whole done today. Which I'm pretty sure that my buddy will show up to complain about this weekend anyways. So I wouldn't get anything done anyways. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I knew I should have come here and talked to you last night, I was up at 2am.
You would miss your buddy if he suddenly did not come any more!

With my luck, he would find a new job in Oklahoma.
