Christmas Countdown - 2013

Morning, Well it's raining here today. Last night was actually a bit chilly.....ahhh well that's England for you

I am collecting fallen pine cones from my back garden these days. I have been waiting for them to start to fall. I'll be using them to make this years tree decorations. I want to try painting them in the next few weeks so I can leave them out to dry in the warm weather. It feels good to have a little christmas project on the go........

I am also thinking about making a couple fall decorations since we don't really get anything like that here. I'd like to welcome the autum season by having a few things in the house and garden. I'll have to see what I can come up with.

Good morning!
I just got back from walking the dogs and it's already too warm out for me. It will be hazy, hot and humid with a chance of thunderstorms. This weather is wearing me out. When I checked the weather on my phone this morning it said 25 degrees, I realized I accidently did something that converted it from fahrenheit to celsius. I would love to have a chilly day right about now! I don't know how I will have the strength to get through July and August. The good thing is that it means we are getting closer to Fall and Winter and of course Christmas!
Not too much planned for me today. Daily chores, and a couple of errands. My youngest has drivers ed again this morning. Thankfully the lessons are going well so far. My oldest has to work a nine hour shift today. Thats too long, IMO. And I have to get my middle one to write out all of her thank you cards for her graduation party. That's about it for me. Oh I also need to work on a menu and grocery list for next week.

I know what you mean, HmG!! This heat & humidity is doing a number on me too. I am so exhausted & have headaches every day.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

My son leaves for Chrysalis this evening. It's a Christian weekend retreat for teenagers that is a precursor to The Walk to Emmaus. We're very proud that he requested to do this, with no prompting. Elizabeth wants to go, too, but she's still too young. Wow, the Lord has blessed us with wonderful children.

I had hoped to go to Jim's shop yesterday, but I had a last-minute bit of work to do on my sign rental business. Meanwhile, my grass is almost 5 inches tall.

I think I'll grill some fish this evening. A guy I work with spends every weekend at the coast, fishing in deep water. He brought us all back some fillets of amberjack, mahi mahi, and a couple other's I'm not familiar with.

It's funny; I don't like deep sea fishing, because all the fish are huge and have teeth, but I like eating salt water fish. I LOVE fishing in a pond, but I don't want to eat pond fish. Of course.

Ok, enough of my ramblings. I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

We're supposed to be in the 80s too next week, which is a shock. I can't remember the last time Oklahoma saw 80s for a high in July! But today, our high is ONE HUNDRED AND STINKING ONE DEGREES! Okay...I'll stop griping.

Good morning, all! How are you all doing? I am well. Just sitting here, catching up with things here and trying to relax for a little while this morning.

What is new with all of you? Not a lot going here. Yesterday I worked a double - not something I want to do everyday. I was exhausted last evening. DH had to work last night too, so the kids and I had a sleep over in my bed! We had a good time and I tuckered out by 10:30.

What is everyone going to do today? I have some things planned, but nothing to extensive. EA is at preschool and DS is at daycare, so I should get a lot done, hopefully! I need to get myself motivated soon!

Well, I am off to read some more, have another cup of coffee, then try to get some things done. Talk to you guys later on. Hope you all have a wonderful day. God Bless! Keep smiling!

Need to study & get Harlowe out for her walks before the storms return. Adrian has a life celebration to go to in our hometown, so I agreed to stay close to home to accept deliveries for his work.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! Guess what? It's going to be hot here today!!!! I bet you didn't see that one coming!!! LOL!!! Just a couple of more days and then we will be back down in the low 80's and high 70's for next week. I can handle that. I actually got 6 hours of sleep last night. It was amazing. I had some screwed up dreams while I was getting that sleep but that's a story for another time. I have a few errands to run this morning and then it will be back home to pay this bills since I never did it yesterday. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish!!! We haven't even hit 1/4" yet this week!!! It keeps getting dark & we get a little shower & it's done! It's circling all around us! I don't want the storms, but a little rain would be great!!!!


Good morning! I just want to post an FYI: if you have never seen the movie "The Angle Doll" - I watched it on Netflix last night & it was very good! BUT it's only going to be available (for streaming) until 6/30/13 on Netflix. I'm glad I was able to watch it before it's gone! If anybody is looking for a movie to watch between now & Sunday, I would reccommend The Angel Doll" :grin:

It's a hot & humid day here, in fact it's up to 100% humidity... Talk about a bad hair day!!

They finished our landscaping yesterday, then a storm rolled in 20 minutes later with pouring rain, hail, and high winds....I think they will have to re-do everything..so frustrating.

How are you all?

Can you please keep Harlowe in your prayers? She has to go in to the vet tomorrow morning, and spend most of the day there. She needs shots, a few tests, and her first teeth cleaning. The anesthesia worries me. And she gets so frightened. So if you could pray for my little pumpkin, and maybe one for me, I'd appreciate it.

Not great, but not too bad. Still feel run-down. I fixed chicken-fried steak tonight, but just couldn't eat it. I even made garlic potatoes and garlic-cheese biscuits. No go. Just couldn't get enthused. Maybe I will have some cookies later! I did laundry earlier and then took a nap. I am even ready for bed right now. I will try to check in later on my I-Pad.

I had to leave early & get back home because of thunderstorms...they were scaring Har & Adrian was gone for a bit.

Goodnight everyone! I hope everyone is having a good week/summer! Has anyone noticed the mornings are getting daylight a little later?? HEHe just by a few minutes but slowly and surely the days are getting shorter daylight wise and in a few months the weather will follow suit! Have a great week/end everyone!
