what a sudden change in air pressure, my ears are popping as if I just went up in an airplane, weird. I wonder why this is happening.? There is storms coming but nothing is close right now

Lets see if this answer will help you out some...

When a storm approaches, the pressure of the atmosphere usually decreases. So, during an approaching storm (usually associated with a low pressure weather system), the barometric pressure decreases, which means that as the storm gets closer to you, the weight of the atmosphere around you decreases and so does the pressure on your ears (it has to do with the middle ear).

When your ears pop, it's really because the pressure inside your ear canal is greater than the pressure of the air outside. The popping is the equalizing of the pressures.
The exact same thing happens when you ride on an airplane...as you go up, pressure decreases and so your ears pop… :-D

I have to tell y'all about a BIG scare I had on Saturday. On Thursday and Friday nights, I had difficulty sleeping. In fact, I didn't sleep at all on Friday night. On Saturday, Hubby and I continued to work on packing up "stuff" in the den/kitchen area to get ready for the remodeling to begin. We both took a nap, Hubby in the bedroom and I in the den (which we call the TV Room). We had plans to go to the five o'clock Mass on Saturday as usual. Hubby woke up and came to wake me up at 6:30, telling me that it was too late to go to Mass because we had both overslept. I asked him the time and when he told me, I told him we were not late that Mass wasn't until later in the afternoon. I really confused him because I thought it was 6:30 Saturday MORNING and it was really 6:30 Saturday NIGHT!!! (I guess I had Saturday night fever, LOL!!!) It took me over an hour to finally realize that I had taken over a five-hour nap!!! It finally hit me when I saw that I was dressed in clothes and not my jammies! This was SO bizarre! It has never happened to me like this before! I honestly thought I was losing it! Well, I am back to normal now; well, as normal as I can get, LOL! So watch out, Made, with your naps, LOL!!!

LOL!!!!! I would have been confused to if I had slept that long!!! It took me a couple of hours to wake up Saturday after I got up from that nap.

The weird thing is that I usually don't take naps unless I take benadryl for my allergies. The last couple of days though, I have just laid down on the couch and passed out.

re:naps.. I read an article where reserach is now showing naps to be bad for sleep health and is a part of the reason why Americans are so sleep depreived.. when you nap your body thinks it is in its normal sleep pattern.. hence when you try and sleep later that evening, you never fully go into a deep stage 4 sleep.. I never nap.... and I am never tired.. hmm not sure why,,,,

The funny thing is, Binger, that I fell asleep that night at my normal bedtime and slept like a baby the whole night! Not sure why you are never tired either, LOL!

My grandparents used to tell me that if you slept that long, and at an odd time of day, then it was your body talking to you that you needed some extra rest.....:-D

I've heard that while we rest, it is sort of our bodies way of re-generating itself, healing itself....

Hmmmmm, now that I think of it, that almost sounds something like a BORG would do!!! LOL...

ok, thanks, that was the first time I have ever had that happen with an approaching storm

I'm sure it has nothing to do with that Starbucks tanker truck sitting out in front of your house!!!

It must have been a good one brewing off in the distance...I've read that storms that can produce tornado's, or hurricanes, etc... will do that~
