In the next few days, it'll be time to take down the trees and pack away the decorations. It'll be too sad to listen to Christmas music while doing that. Any ideas what would be more cheerful listening while doing that chore? There's no music I like as we'll as Christmas music, but I have to put it away until I'm back in non-holidays mode.

The OST to Grease always puts me in a good mood. Whenever I put it on it doesn't take me long before I am singing along and dancing :D

Everyone is making me depressed! This is why I am not a fan of New Years Eve or New Years. I am selfish and think of all of the time from mid November to the beginning of January as strictly for Christmas. I can't believe the time has passed already and we'll all be taking our decorations down. It something that I hate to do. It's much more fun to plug in the lights and decorate my tree compared to taking it all down. Ugh. I dread the three gloomy winter months ahead. Jan, Feb, and March seem to drag on forever.

Is it Nov 2013 yet?

I have been that way in the past ~ this year I intend to be so busy I'll wish time would slow down more! I hope the months are better for you than you are expecting them to be, jennifer!

It's a quieter day at work today, which is much appreciated. It's just about lunch time, and that's good too. Tomorrow's Friday, which is even better.

We haven't taken any of our Christmas decor down yet. We leave the outside decorations up until Epiphany (Jan. 6), and then the tree usually stays up until Lent (Feb. 13 this year). So we still have a little while to look at and enjoy our Christmas things.

Keep something Christmassy up in your room all year long, I have a small leg lamp as my bedside light. I have a few Christmas books close by when I need them to just get me through the long year.

Great idea, xmas! I keep up a few Christmas items, too: a metal Christmas wall hanging that says JOY and my metal cardinal tree. I can't help but smile when I see them! Another idea would be to do something Christmas-sy every 25 of the month to celebrate Rudolph Day. Planning what you are going to do will make the time go by faster and will help to dispel any gloom! :rudolph:

Time for some TV, my friends. I have not had a good two days. Not able to eat and just feeling blah. We went out last night, but all I ordered was English muffin and only ate half. I feel so tired and just can't shake it! TTYT

I hope and pray you are full of energy soon if not already, Seawaters! {{{Seawaters}}}

In alot of ways, I completely agree with you. The whole house seems alive when all the decorations are up and the lights are on and give off the warm Christmas glow. It's full of life and when their unplugged and then packed away, I sit there and look at the space and it appears empty to me and in my heart...

I am taking a page out of A Christmas carol and Ebenezer Scrooge this year -

“I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.”

Yup, the tree may come down, the lights packed away but christmas itself, will always be in my heart....

Well. Well. Well.

Happy New Year to all! My Wife and I went to bed before midnight! lol. Oh well. New Years isn't that big in this house. We had a wonderful busy Christmas. I'm not ready to have it end so it wont! Heh. I have the Christmas music still going in my car and home. The tree is up and lit right now and the house is still festive. I'm going to see how long I can get away with it! Why not! The neighbors still have all their stuff up and on. I love it! William loved his gifts. He keeps saying "Daddy, I love my gifts!". We did a good job this year. I hope everyone else had a good one too. Don't get the blues people. If you do we still have HERE! I found a pine yankee candle at Halmark for 12 bucks! YAY! I get excited when I find the Christmas scents. We are all recovering from a virus that has been pretty bad this year. Flu like symptoms but not the flu. You know what I don't like? When radio stations stop right away on December 26th with Christmas music. It should go through till the first week of January. Well, that's what I think. Hope everyone has a good evening!

Well said, Undrtakr! I'm glad you are all recovering from that virus. Lucky find on the candle, too. Happy New Year to you and your family!

Oh and for those that are getting the Christmas blues, Carl has done something special! Heck its special for everyone! He is pulling an after Christmas, Christmas party! Complete with egg nog and the Christmas vacation moose mugs. He has Christmas movies running all day and the music is cranked. Hot chocolate, candy cane chocolate and more!

What a party to miss ~ I hope everyone had a good time!!!

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's freezing here in central Indy!!!! We currently stand at 7 degree's on our way to a high in the low 20's. Brrrrr. Of course by the end of next week they are talking about high's in the 60's. I have a lot to do today but I don't know how much I'll get done. I really shouldn't have stayed up until 4am watching Christmas movies on hallmark. The Santa Suit is one of my favorites though and I hadn't seen it all the way through this season. Well I'm off to do the dishes and I have any energy left I'm going to start packing up my Santa's. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

I just saw The Santa Suit for the first time this past Christmas ~ loved it!

Back to work for the first day of 2013. And what a way to start the year off with quite a few fires to put out.

I hope everyone's Wednesday is treating them better! :)

I hope your Thursday is going great!

I think this year is going to be the year where I enrich my life a little bit more with watching classic movies and reading classis novels. For example, (and I know you may find this hard to believe), but I watched Holiday Inn last night for the very first time. I really enjoyed it and I'm asking myself why haven't I done so before!

Now, I was watching WALL-E this past week (I'm a big kid) and there were some scenes where WALL-E was watching a musical and dancing to it. I would really to know what that movie/ musical was so that I can watch it.

I have never read "A Christmas Carol", Moby Dick, etc... It's my plans in this year to do so as well. Its a year for me to sort of reboot my way of entertaining my intrests and also education of the classics; and I'm open to any great suggestions~

I try and keep as much up as i can but with the shop i take a bit down each day to after the 6th as i do think its unlucky but i wood need a week to take all the in door and outdoor down in one go and store away, and i just cant do that with the shop ,

I pulled all but two Christmas items out of my booth yesterday ~ it is such a small space I have to do that to make room for items that are seasonal. If I had more room, I would have a Christmas section year-round! Packing the items away didn't make me sad though, as I buy stuff I wouldn't mind keeping should a buyer for the items not be found

Ahhh.. woken up on day 2 of the new year with 2 sick kiddos... :( We have been snuggling on the couch all AM. I took a few things down just because I wanted to clean a bit but my tree is still up, lights are up around the house and outside for at least another week or two and my snowmen remain up for quite some time! And my little 3 ft tree is up and light and seasonally decorated all year! I'm just enjoying picking up odds and ends at 50+% off now... :)

I hope your kiddos are better today! What kind of goodies have you found?

Amen! Those winter months after Christmas seem to just drag on and are my least favorite of the year. One thing we've done the last several years is take a family weekend trip to the Great Wolf Lodge. The one we visit is in Texas, but they have them in a few states scattered around the U.S. It's an indoor waterpark, so it's nice to get some swimming in and waterslides during those cold winter months. It gives us something to look forward to in February!

Hope your winter is good...spring will be here before we know it.

There is a Great Wolf Lodge in Michigan cheesy

Oh, my ranting earlier about work was most likely set off this morning by starting the car and realizing that there is this green fluid running down the asphalt. So I took it to the garage and they called me first thing and told me I need a new radiator, new hoses and my transmission fluid needs replacing; apparently....

Man, that's not going to be cheap. I popped the hood of the car and looked inside and you cannot even get your hand in there at all to work on it with so much stuff in the way. They are going to have to tear half the front end of the car off in order to get to the radiator, talk about a labor intensive job. You know that's going to cost me!

I feel like I'm starting this year off on a negative note (in the red), with the car breaking down, me, destroying my garage door, my daughters college tution bill just came in the mail, along with the property tax bill (boy, uncle Sam is never late on that now, is he?), lol....

I need to work some overtime or hit the powerball..... What is it that they say, it's something like you need to work about 4 months of the year and give 100% of your earnings to the goverment and the rest of the years earnings is all yours? I'm not sure, but it's something similiar like that....

Good morning,

I am here all by my lonesome, I cleaned the kitchen after I dropped the boys off, I am missing them and my wife a lot today, I had another meltdown while cleaning. But, I got a phone call from a company and I have an interview tomorrow. I have had 3 phone calls already this morning from companies looking to give me an interview. I just posted my resume online Sunday night, and all of this attention. Still not from the company I am hoping for, so I have to prep for my first interview in over 12 years. Back to work on Friday for me, just trying to enjoy the last few days.

Have a great day!

Good luck with the interview!
