Christmas Countdown - 2013

Good afternoon all! We woke up to half and inch of snow on the ground this morning. That made this Monday morning back from a 2week break a liitle bit better! Work has been a madhouse today though as I knew it would be. things should calm down as the week wears on though. The snow should all be melted by Weds when we are suppose to get up to the mid 50's. There are 30 percent chances of snow the rest of the week though at night time when the temps ar ein the low 30's. The leaves are long gone though
My dawgs won the game on sat just barely but they pulled it off! We play Appalachain State this sat and then the week after that I think it's UK(Kentucky) now that should be a good game...so the season is slowly coming to an end. I have set my DVR to record a lot of movies this week. Tonight at midnight Karoll's Christmas comes on,it is one of Louanne's favorites and it is happy one minute and a tear jerker the next,so I really don't know if I am ready to see it yet. The reoccurring theme in it they play I'll be home for Christmas" song and even in the best of years it made my throat lump up,I know this year I will be sobbing. I may watch it later in the month but I have it set to record nonetheless! I hope everyone has had a great Monday and I will hopefully be around more at the office this week! Hey guys, how is your monday so far? Mine is pretty much over. I just put the boys to bed and I am going to chill out infront of the tele for the rest of the night.
It's been a hectic day. The boys and I had dentist appointments today. I am so glad its all over with now, I always dread the dentist. My eldest is back to school tomorow after mid term holidays. Their next school break will be two weeks over christmas!!!! Wow!! Its so exciting to think that it s only 7wks away!
I woke up this morning to the first frost of the season. Its been so cold today. I wonder if there is a chance of snow soon. Hey I forgot to mention that I booked a delivery date for our christmas tree, november 30th! In the meantime, I need to finish my deep clean and annual declutter of the house so its all ready for a christmas makeover!

I dread the dentist too. People laugh at me, but once when I had a cavity, I had one when I was 26 and I had it filled, I dreaded that more than sitting through getting my epidural during labor. I'm not kidding. I hate the dentist!

The only thing I can suggest is the low end of high-tech: Burn backup copies of your music files onto archive-quality CDs or DVDs. (Don't burn them as playable CDs, just burn the files---you'll get much more on each disc.) And I've read that you should re-archive them onto fresh media every few years in case the discs degrade. If your computer goes flooey and you lose your files, you can reclaim them from the disks. Or you can back up music files onto an external hard drive, but if that drive crashes ...
Made the Technical Genius probably has better advice than mine. Maybe he'll lay some on us.
Heck, bag it all and let's go back to records, cassettes, and CDs!!

I'm having a hard time choosing between the game and The Christmas Card on hallmark. I love that movie.
I just found "The Christmas Card" and ditched my hubby and son watching the game. I can flip back to the game during commercials. The sad thing is I have the movie recorded, but I couldn't help myself! Oh well...Go Pack Go and hey, thanks Hallmark!

I would actually suggest the same thing. Or better yet, do both. That's what I do. I back up to an external hard drive and burn all of my music to disc's too. That way if a disc gets broken or scratched, I still have another option. Plus most of mine is also on my kindle and on a micro sd card for my phone. (something you can't do with apple) So I would just say back it up as many places as you can.
Oh it's also all on my complete computer back up disc's that I burn every 3 months or so.

Oh and another thing. Another good thing is that everything you buy from Itunes now should be automatically uploaded to your Icloud account. So you have all of your new stuff backed up there too.

Thank you everyone for all of your thoughts, well wishes and prayers....It truly means the world to me. I have had sort of a rough patch this year as a hole, to which I have only mentioned to a few of you here...
So, this sudden news, only added to the weights that are already on my back. However, I am an optimist and I do believe in a higher power....
My youngest brother is handling most of the work, while I am providing comfort for my grandfather. It appears that my father donated his body to science, so there will be no funeral, no viewing and no expenses. I look at it like this, if that's what he wanted, so be it. Ironically, my brother just called me 30 minutes ago and told me that Johns Hopkins just called him and asked him if they could have his brain. That's a really weird phone call to get.....
I take it all in stride, Well, I guess it's all in the name of science.... So, they keep his body for awhile, cremate it, and return the ashes in 6-8 weeks. After that who knows. My brother is going to handle the estate and everything else and that's fine with me. Dealing with all this stuff, is one major pain in the can...
I'm tired, haven't had much sleep so I'm going to see Mr. Ambian tonight. I'll see you all tomorrow...nighty-nite~:wink:
