Happy Christmas season, everyone! I hope that everyone has a wonderful & blessed season this year on MMC, with family, and with friends! Let it be the best one yet!

This time of the year, I am so thankful for MMC. I have 'met' so many wonderful people here. We are all so very different but share one common interest which brings us all together - it's great!

I remember last year I was so down in the dumps as soon as the evening hours approached on Christmas. I know that it was still Christmas Day, but I was finally facing the fact that it was almost all over. It's hard to look forward to something for months and months and then for it just to end. That's why Christmas Eve has been and always will be my favorite day of the year. The anticipation of Christmas is the best feeling ever. Anyway, I can remember when it hit midnight and I was seriously feeling so down. I logged on here and chatted with some of you who were feeling the exact same way. Most people really have no idea what the feeling is that we experience because they simply do not care about Christmas the way that we do. I started the countdown in my head even though it was a long 364 days away.

This time of year for me is filled with fun, excitement, joy, and anticipation. It's nice to share it with people outside of my family who truly appreciate it as much as I do! Heck - I get excited over wrapping paper, guys. I buy it like it's going out of style. I think I have enough wrapping paper at this point to last me 12 years.

Now that the season has officially 'kicked off' I really need to start my shopping and decorating! The decorations are coming out this weekend and the lights are going up - woo hoo!

Have a GREAT day, everyone!!

You made me smile, Jennifer. I'm happy for you that you have found MMC, and I hope that you will have the best Holiday Season ever!

I'm getting in the Christmas Spirit! I've started shopping for gifts, wrapped what I can, & this morning I reserved a room for DH & me for our 20th wedding anniversary on the weekend before Christmas. We were married on December 18, close enough to Christmas!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding anniversary! 20 years sound amazing, and I must say what a magical time of Holiday Season is to get married. ^^ Lovely.

But here is what the new vehicle looks like:

It looks VERY cool!

Good morning, friends!!

Happy Pines Day!!

It is a chilly 21 degrees here, with light flurries ❄️ So pretty!!

I work the rest of the week, and have the weekend off =] Very excited about that.
Decorating the trees then! Yay!!!
And then, getting the rest of the decorations out.
We will do the village last, it is quite the undertaking!!

When are you guys decorating?

It was so nice to welcome the season with you all last night- talk about Christmas magic.

Hope you all have a blessed day!!

xx

It sounds like a very exciting weekend is approaching to you. ;]

Good evening to all! Hopefully you had a good day. I had my last fieldtrip this semester. It was so much fun although I got my feet wet and cold again but it was worth it. I have been running through the forum posts now and I could actually feel the increasing excitement of upcoming season through my laptop screen. All these posts made me smile and dream about making every Holiday super special when I will have my own family. Sorry if it sounds too nostalgic but that was what I immediately thought about. ^^ Have a relaxing and warm evening everyone. Best wishes!

My granddaughter and I just got back from the mall and met the REAL SANTA (a real white beard too)! He was not too busy since we know that the kids don't start really visiting him this early so we had a nice long conversation. He is not there for a job just to make extra money playing Santa, he is like all of us here at MMC who loves Christmas year round. He had a really sharp looking Santa suit that I wish I could have taken a picture of him with my camera but they are in the business to sell photos which I understand. I am waiting until I get the 3 grandchildren together before I pay to have it done. That is the first mall Santa I have met that is really good for the role! I felt we could have talked for hours and hours but after about nearly 20 minutes or so some kids showed up so we on. I invited him to MMC and I hope he will join us soon. He had some really wonderful stories to tell and I will wait for him to share them here with us. One of them will be about his Alaskan Cruise he plans to take to visit North Pole, Alaska.

We had a great day looking at all the decorations at the mall and of course, our visit with Santa!!!

this sounds like an awesome day!!!! And I´m sure You Your grandbaby loved every second!!!

Hey CAH!!

Same here!! Too bad we didn't live closer, we could help each other out & share some great ideas!!

Adrian & I recently spent a day organizing it & getting it all in one room, documenting each piece in a spreadsheet, with what year it was, and if it retired, etc. it was a lot of work but very worthwhile. I had lost track of them a few years ago, when Adrian started picking up lots of them through Craigslist & eBay. Some were duplicated, and whatnot. And in the move, some ended up in totes in the basement cubby, some in the utility room, etc...now all are accounted for! Feels good!

Hope you have a great day, friend!!

That would be great if we did live close by! Good idea on organizing!

A Very Merry Christmas Season to Everyone!!!

I wish I could have been there with everyone to help bring in the Christmas Season, but I couldn't hang as well....Got up the previous morning at 4:45am and didn't sleep to well to boot, so when 9:00pm came around last night, my eyes were rolling up in my head....

We went out for a seafood dinner to celebrate my 50th birthday and with that Lobster sitting in my tummy last night, I hit the couch and needless to say, I was done in no time flat~

Happy Birthday!!!

Call your sister & have her come do it for you!

We'll go to Dixie Stampede on Friday night with DH's parents (we have same wedding anniversary) & we always take DD with us too. They will take DD home with them & we'll get one day & two nights to ourselves to relax & unwind from DH's stressful job. I'm looking forward to it! Twenty years, but it seems like just a couple of years. Wow.

Happy Anniversary!!!

Cool!!! Glad you guys had a great time and I hope he does join!!!!

I sure hope the holidays and the new year bring you much better times!

2013 has been a hard year...I know we get no guarantees in life but this one kicked my butt...I'm ready for the celebratory time of the holidays!

Take it easy, Christmasstar. I think you're just overwhelmed and burned out for now. Take it easy, and we'll be here for you. Christmas will find you when you're ready.

I can't do this tonight, you are going to think I have lost my mind, it does feel like it and maybe I have, but I do not feel like celebrating. It has been one thing after another the last few months and now this scare with my friend seems to have just knocked the spirit right out of me.
I am going through the motions but the excitement seems to be eluding me.
Has anyone else felt this way?
I am going to bed, sorry guys.

just had a long talk with Donna on the phone, she sounds ok. Taking her supper tomorrow and spending some time with her. I am sure she is going to be quite sore for awhile

Been thinking of her. How was your visit with Donna and how has she been doing the past couple of days?

LOL!!!! You are a Hallmark Addict!!!!!

Well, I don't know if I am a Hallmark addict, but I am a Christmas addict and I love to watch anything Christmas. If I could stay awake 24-7, I would be watching Christmas TV all the time! I am mainly watching Hallmark now, since there really isn't too much more on right now! :)

I'm glad you had fun today Victoria, hope you enjoy your evening!

My wife and I were talking tonight, we have Friendly's Peppermint Stick ice cream, we both thought it would be amazing to put a small scoop of that ice cream into a mug of hot cocoa. Minty & creamy at the same time. mmmmmmm!

That does sound amazing, Xmas! I will have to keep an out for it at the store and do this. Thanks for the great idea.
