LOL I remember the first time I heard the word "toques" was in The 12 Days of Christmas by Bob and Doug MacKenzie. I had to look it up! Cute goose!

Good Morning!
I thought yesterday was cold, this morning it is -10c (14f) with a wind chill of -19c (-2f)
It is so cold even our Canada geese are wearing toques and scarves

toque: this is a knit cap, sometimes called a toboggan

In the south, we called them toboggans! (Sometimes pronounced TOE boggan or toe Boggan!

I was working out in the field yesterday conducting a field survey for a new project and also checking the construction progress at another and when I go back there was this email waiting for me:

All,

Please join us in the Large Conference Room for some pizza, wings and soda to celebrate the Ravens in Super Bowl 47! This is a company-sponsored event, just bring yourself and your Ravens pride!

Go Ravens!

I can honestly say, that I was totally blown away with the aspect of the company treating us??? Boy, that doesn't happen very often more like not at all....But, who's complaining! I'll take It any day.... So, It's purple Friday here today and I guess I can say; GO Ravens!!!!

I'd be a little skeptical, too. You'd better bring along your HP 50g and a full file folder, just in case. cheesy

More food for thought and for the Super Bowl:

Spicy Buffalo Chicken Dip
  • 2 store-bought rotisserie chickens, skinned and finely shredded
  • 3 8-oz. pkgs. cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 C. ranch dressing
  • 3/4 C. blue cheese dressing
  • 1 C. Buffalo wing sauce
  • 3 C. Colby Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • Tortilla chips (optional, for serving)
  • Crackers (optional, for serving)
  • Carrots (optional, for serving)
  • Celery (optional, for serving)
Preheat oven to 350°F. Beat the cream cheese, ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, and http://www.recipe4living.com/recipes/david_venable_s_spicy_buffalo_chicken_dip.htmhot sauce until creamy and fully combined. Fold in the shredded chicken and 1-1/2 cups of the shredded cheese. Spread the mixture into the 3.5-qt dish and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the dip from the oven and sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top. Bake for another 20 minutes, or until hot and bubbly. Allow the dip to cool for 10 minutes, and then serve it with tortilla chips, crackers, carrots, celery, or a combination thereof.

Good afternoon everyone!

The calendar has been flipped. We are now officially in February. I'm assuming the shortest month of the year will fly by just like January. Not much is happening here. The cold weather has returned and we will likely be about -26c/-15f here tonight. And it appears as if I will be working at the rink, too. Perfect timing.

It will be the first time the rink has been open since the recent warm spell. We'll see how it goes. I also might try skating a little bit tonight. Not hard. My knee can't handle all that yet... But it will be nice to coast around the ice and shoot some pucks.

It is Superbowl weekend, but I don't really have many plans as of yet... for the Superbowl or even tonight and tomorrow, really. Oh well! I'm sure plenty of things will come up.

I hope everyone has been having a wonderful Friday. There is only a bit of time until many of us are home for the weekend. Enjoy!

...I was going to say, thank you for clarification, Seawaters. It is never called a tobaggan in Canada. I had wondered where that reference came from. Tobbaggan is really only a universal term that is used for sliding down a hill on a GT, crazy carpet or something of that kind.

Yay! First calendar flip of the year! Here at the office we are now officially into hearts and cupids season, along with purple lights and garlands for the Ravens. It's a rather interesting combination.

Hi everyone....sorry I been absent....for whatever reason I just didn´t log on here.......SHAME ON ME!!!!!!! more than two weeks I believe....not cool.....I promise...it won´t happen again....will You have me back?

I flipped my calendar too and saw that the only things I have marked are things I really don't need: We had put down the February school break and teacher collaboration days! Have fun at the rink, eh?

I posted a Super Bowl recipe because for the life of me I cannot remember where to do it otherwise. I went to the recipe section but it is only for Christmas recipes and I only saw recipes, not how to post them.
