Hello everyone

I hope this finds you all well and happy.

I'm fine but busy as usual.

The weather her is cold but sunny. We already had snow all the way down twice and will have new snow on saturday. I love it, as the weather fits the season perfectly.

I will be back as soon as I have time to join you.

See you all later

Best Regards

Cetacea (Mona)

Nice to see you, Cetacea!!

Enjoy the snow & this beautiful season!!

Made, I wanted you to know that Hubby is doing a great job at demolition. He used one of his skill saws and made a grid of the kitchen floor so he can clear one section at a time. He has to get it ready for the concrete guy. He also has to do some earthquake stuff even though we are not prone to earthquakes, and the area is only a few inches deep! I guess the county has to make its money somehow! TTYT

Sounds like all is coming along well! So excited to see your kitchen :) Bless your hubby for all of his hard work!

Merry Morning!

How is everyone! I imagine you all are busy with your thanksgiving preparations! How exciting!

I am feeling the effects of a slight cold this morning but fingers crossed it doesn't get worse and goes away quickly! I really am sorry for falling behind with everyone's posts. These days are so hectic as I am sure it is for everyone. I am trying my best to get through some shopping this week. I also have Mr. Festive's birthday next week to!

My two year old is keeping me on my toes these days .........he is into everything, I don't know why he is so suddenly mischievous!!!! LOL

I'll try and pop by again later. Thinking of each of you and sending the very best wishes!

Sam xxx

Happy birthday to your hubby, Sam!!

And I hope you feel better soon!!

((Hugs))

Sitting in the pool after my walk home (it's 33C here) reading all the posts and I would love the recipes for 7 layer salad and the pumpkin roll and cake if they r easy Holiday

You got it!

The 7 layer salad recipe is pretty vague - I just put the lettuce in a 9 x 13 pan, then start layering - ending with bacon & cheese last. I put the dressing on top shortly before it's ready to be served & toss it.

7 Layer Salad
1 Lg. Head lettuce
½ head cauliflower
3 stalks celery
onion
1 pkg. Eckridge hickory smoked bacon (crumbled)
8 Oz. Shredded cheddar
Hard BoildEggs
Frozen Peas

Dressing:
2 C. mayo
¼ C. sugar

Pumpkin Roll
Beat 3 eggs at high speed for 5 minutes. Gradually add 1 C. sugar. Stir in 2/3 C. pumpkin & 1 tsp. Lemon Juice. – set aside
Stir Together:
¾ C. flour
1 tsp. Baking Powder
2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Ginger
½ tsp. Nutmeg
½ tsp. Salt
(fold into pumpkin mixture)
Spread into greased & floured 15 X 10 X 1” pan. Top with 1 C. walnut pieces (optional.) Bake at 375º for 15 mins.

Turn out on towel sprinkled with confectioners sugar & roll towel & cake. Cool 15-20 minutes.

Mix together & fill with:
1 C. Sugar
8 oz. Cream cheese
4 T. Margarine
½ tsp. Vanilla
Reroll & chill.

Good morning everyone...It's Wednesday and you know what that means...It's Thanksgiving Day Eve (bet you thought I was going to say something else; huh!). It's a cold, windy and rainy morning and it's just now starting to turn over to freezing rain and sleet. At least I'm already at work and not on the road.

I started my thanksgiving day prep for the Turkey last night by going to the grocery store, the turkey is thawed out and will be brined today, the stuffing and other items is prepped, so we're getting there.

I noticed this year they are not having Miracle on 34th street (1947) on TV, right after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade...So, I'm going to have to break out the DVD's and put it in, it's sort of a tradition with me. Years past, they used to also have the Wizard of Oz on TV as well, Oh well...I'll do it myself...

Still packing, and looking for houses, we got into a bidding war for another house yesterday and this morning and I believe/ have a feeling that we lost again. It will be the 5th house that we liked and lost because of one thing or another; It's a very disheartening process which can really bring you down. If we don't get this one, then we will have to move twice and that will totally stink... Keep your fingers crossed for me, I need a miracle.

Well, since I'm here at work, I guess I have to start doing some. lol....I'll be checking in here today from time to time...

Fingers crossed & sending prayers up too!!

Best of luck to you guys!!

We are having both ham & turkey. This is the 1st year my MIL has not had Thanksgiving & she never has turkey or lunch b/c she knows everybody will be having turkey again for supper on the other side of the family. BUT for me it was easy to do a turkey roast & a ham - so if they don't want turkey, they can stick with the ham. I don't mind leftovers! I thought about having bbq ribs or prime rib, but in the end, I just love to make turkey!! Lol!
we do both so that everyone can enjoy what ever they like best.
For family parties we do pot luck and some of everything always shows up.

Well, I've posted a grand total of two times in six days...shame on me!

Been busy wrapping up school for the break, taking care of the baby, and a few others things....

Had the weirdest thing happen today...went to the doctor for my regular checkup for high blood pressure...and he noticed my throat was red. I fee like a million bucks, but they did a throat swab and I have strep throat. So weird...I feel fine.

So I'm on some pretty strong medications. This is the third time I've had it since August, so we got to get something figured out. I'm supposed to go back to see him in ten days and then again in 20.

Baby and wife are snoozing, but I'm wide-awake. The next three days are in my top 10 days of the year, so I better get some rest.

See yall in the morning for coffee....

That is weird! Glad you are feeling ok though - can't be sick over the Holidays! Hopefully the medication helps quickly!!!

Yes, just a little. But today it is raining so it will be gone pretty soon!

Good morning! Busy day ahead ... once I get out of the office (which I hope is early), I want to prep the front room for the Christmas tree, then haul the tree upstairs, check the light strings, replace any dead bulbs, and string the lights on the tree. It's not easy, 'cause I wrap them similar to the way pre-lit trees are done, but the effect is worth it. Hoping to relax a little afterward, 'cause we've been out shopping the past two evenings and getting home just in time to go to bed.

I really enjoy Thanksgiving Eve and Thanksgiving Day and the long weekend! I hope yours is special!
