Seawater, can you pick us up?!

Good Morning Everyone!

I don't want to be rude but I only had time to read some of your post and don't have time to respond to any. This is my busiest day of the week! All good, fun and positive stuff but BUSY!

Wayne and I were very busy yesterday too. We started the day sometime around 8:00 am and didn't get home until after 7:00 pm. (Well, we did drop by the house a couple of times in the afternoon to drop things off and get a bite to eat). Anyway, we ran lots of errands, came home and took our bikes out for a ride, then headed back out again. We went out for dinner, ran more errands then came home to listen to the Greasy Skillet! We had a fun day!!! We finally got our bike rack for the car so we can take them out to the lake. I am getting excited about that!

Hooray for fun days!

I'm all for that.... Set a projector up, I'lll bring the popcorn all we would need then, would be some Lazyboys and some hot tea, lol....

I Love, just love to watch old movies, I yearn for the yester years but sadly, no one else here does in my home....So for the most part, I go without . My wife, kids and family has told me many time that I have an old soul, that well, I was sort of born out of my time.

I mean, I'm up on the times and electronics to a degree, but I really thrive for the simpler things in life....where life, family, values, faith, honesty, trust and simplicity is a key to the path of happiness. Now adays, "it's the all about me", fast pace, fast food, fast whatever lifestyles.... And for the movies and electronics, SD, HD, 3D, 4D, LED, LCD, plazma, projection, pixles per inch, Cat 6, USB, fiber optics, blue ray; ugggh when is enough enough?

Well, I do admit, at least with some things, they do look really nice but as with everything, it comes with a cost. Me, pass me the bowl of popcorn and put on an old movie like say, Captain Blood, Robin Hood, Ivanhoe, stagecoach, etc... I'm happy....

We're both into the vintage stuff---movies, music, and TV---so our house is full of it constantly. Last night we watched (on film) a couple of serial chapters, a silent Laurel & Hardy short, a Ritz Brothers feature from the 1940s, and a musical short featuring Pinky Tomlin. Old and obscure, but definitely entertaining!

Video formats do seem to multiply and change constantly, but the interesting thing is that properly preserved film of almost any age can still be viewed, as opposed to the plethora of obsolete-tomorrow video formats a few years down the road. That's one reason we love film as well as movies! But video certainly has its place---few collectors would be able to obtain or afford a 16mm print of many classic films. For those, the next best thing is a DVD and an Epson MovieMate. (And a bowl of popcorn and Cokes in glass bottles!)

Good morning MMC,

It looks like the snow will be missing us, it looks like the area where RachRon lives is going to catch the brunt of it. It is 21*F with wind chills feeling like it is about 5F* and only to get colder. Just enjoying some Three Stooges right now, my wife is shopping so I can actually get to enjoy the show. Does anyone want to babysit my crazy boys? They are driving me bonkers today, they just pick, pick, pick at each other all day long. Not much planned on the day.

The wind is howling here, too. We got a little snow overnight.

You're watching the Three Stooges, and wondering why your boys are crazy? cheesy

We could add vintage films to the breakout sessions!

Hooray for fun days!

May we add M&Ms to the snack along with popcorn and soda? I love popcorn and M&Ms when I watch movies!

My Girl Scout cookies were just delivered: Tagalongs, Savannah Smiles, Thank You Berry Munch, Samaos, and Thin Mints. Yummo! They are a little expensive, but the $$$ is going to a good cause.

I will bring a new snack, too. Hubby and I bought Greek Yogurt Fruit and Nut Blend at Costco the other day. Ingredients: Greek yogurt chips, pomegranate arils, apricots, cherries, roasted almonds, marcona almonds, and cranberries. Delicious and addicting!

That goes without saying!

Anything you like---bring a bag along.

@Solice...I am so sorry about the whole situation!!! I will pray for all of You...it is so heartbreaking when You have to watch loved ones suffer like this with no way to help...again I will pray for You and wish You all the strenght u need to go through this!!!!

Hope you are feeling better soon!

It is a clear, sunshiney, breezy day here in northern California. Not much planned for today except to continue organizing. I watched They Wore the Red Suit last night on my new DVD player. When I retired, I received some gift cards, so I redeemed those and bought a portable DVD player. I am impressed. That way, I can watch my Christmas DVDs and Hubby can watch his other shows! I laughed when I saw the remote control that came with it! I also started watching Becoming Santa. I will finish watching it later today. Thanks for the recommendations!
♥ I can feel the lovely breeze reading this...
I would love to see that movie (
Becoming Santa)
Enjoy your day beautiful Lady! =)

You really should. It is a great magazine. In one edition, I found a picture of a coat that was a hand-me-down to me from one of my cousins--brown with fur pom-pom buttons. I couldn't believe it!

This sounds like something I should look into ...
