Hey everyone! Time to go back and catch up on posts.

If you get a second, please say a prayer for my pap or keep him in your thoughts. He never gets sick and he has a pretty bad cold. He is almost 88, so I am afraid it could get worse and turn into something like pneumonia. We are supposed to get 6 inches of that really heavy and wet snow so I am worried he is going to go out there to shovel and make himself worse or hurt himself. Thanks if you don't mind!!

Now I am gonna go back and catch up on posts. At least my new computer is fast! My old one went and fried on me....I had to spend all of the money I saved on a new one.

He is in my thoughts.

Good Tuesday morning everyone. Looking to forward to the coming snow storm. We are forecast to get 6-9 inches but I am hoping for 2 feet. Snow forecast are difficult in the NC mountains, because of elevations one area can get lots of snow while just a couple of miles away they get very little. When we were looking for a home, I tried to find one that got the most snow. We live on the northwest slope of Stecoah mountain and usually get more snow than most of the surrounding county. We get very little direct sun, only a couple of hours a day this time of the year, so once it snows it stays a while.

We will have to park at the bottom of the mountain and walk up. Like I've said before, I love it but the wife doesn't. Also, there are no snow plows outside the city so we get to enjoy it longer.

I guess you can tell I'm a little excited for the storm. Looking forward to more time of sitting by the fireplace and eating snow cream. We will probably lose power but that is fine too. We will fill one of the bath tubs up with water tonight to use in the toilet, (no power means no well water).

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's overcast again, but it's about 60°. I have to leave work at noon to take Elizabeth to her dentist appointment, and Jacob to his guitar practice. I'll use the time in between appointments to peruse the pawn shops for guns. I've had a hankering for a 9mm, but I'm not paying Glock's price for a new one. And my mom has shown an interest in a small, self-protection gun to keep with her when she travels alone. I told her I'd help her find one, but she has to enroll in the gun safety classes they offer nearby. They teach them safe handling, and they make them shoot lots of rounds, but ammo is getting super scarce.

I told her she'd then be a pistol-packin' Mama!

I just got back from the Dr. He says I have tracheitis or inflammation of the trachea, not much he can do for that but give me a strong prescription for cough medicine. :-? He also said it can linger for 8-12 more weeks, I don't want to have this when summer starts.

I've never heard of that but it sounds painful. do you have to go back to work tomorrow? I hope you feel better Xmas.

I'm still awaiting the snow! 1st they were calling 4-8" for us, now it's lowered to 3-5"! They get us all excited...

Hey everyone. So glad to be checking in. We're still having problems with our wifi here at my house. I have no idea what us going on with it. We do have Internet, but it's on the desktop and which, when I'm busy and trying to so things with the kids, wifi is much more convenient!

Anyway, I am checking in quick from my iPhone. I have been trying not to use this to often to do so. I know it takes a lot of use to use my minutes, but I want to save them if I need them.

Anything new and exciting here? I passed my test on Sunday night. Yaahhh! I am done with that now for another two years. It feels good to have that done with.

Nothing is really new here with me. Just working and ready for spring. We're to get snow tonight. Who knows how much we will end up getting. They keep changing it. We shall see! DH has to work tonight as well, so lets pray for a safe night for him, since he may be driving the firetruck this mess!

Well they weren't lying when they said this was going to be heart attack snow. I just made my first pass with the shovel and I'm worn out!! The bad part is, we've only got about 1/2 inch so far. We still have 6 1/2 inches to go.

An AR-15 is next on my list too. I have a cousin in PA that used to shoot one competitively. He placed 2nd in the nation in his last year of eligibility as an youth. Unfortunately he was killed in an ATV accident before he ever got to compete as an adult.

I so sorry to hear about the loss of your cousin. Those ATV's, my sister rode one of those things once, only once and it got out from underneath her and she rolled it. It rolled right over top of her and broke her arm in three places. I guess in her case it was user error....

that is the kind of snow we had here for our last storm, it was breaking snow plows it was so heavy and wet.
