Christmas Countdown - 2013

Just quickly looking at my trees, I already see lights and garland that needs to be replaced for next year. My chaser lights only every third light is working, quite a few C7 bulbs have burnt out. (I already bought 2 boxes of those.) Some of my bubble lights have burnt out, I always worry about finding those though. I need to write this stuff down in my notebook, and keep my eyes open online for things. The pain and joys of Christmas decorating. cheesy

Good morning, friends! How are all of you today? I am well. Just enjoying some coffee and trying to get motivated to get some things done around here!

DH has pretty much all of the Christmas stuff down, except for the tree, so I need to help him put it away. I want to throw some type of soup in the crockpot here as well.

This afternoon, we have to go to the funeral home - DH's best friend, which he is also our's son's godfather's, his dad passed away. We will do that, then come home and spend some time with the kids.

It's back to work for me tonight. I am off to help DH and make dinner. Talk you guys later on!

PS- Preseason Thunder kicks off at Daytona on Thursday. Speed is going to have live coverage online in the mornings and on tv in the afternoon's. So lock your office door, kick back, and watch the new cars get out there and tear up the track. (hopefully not literally)

and I am stoked about Preseason Thunder...but I have ballgame duty...nevertheless, I have DVR. It is so on next Friday night when I finally get to watch....

Been at work since 5:45...and just got home a bit ago...it's going to be time for a nap in a bit...but not before coffee and a biscuit....

Football ALL DAY today....excited.

Football and racing is what keeps me going this time of year...and this is the best time of year for football and Daytona is coming up in a few weeks...that's the best time to be a race fan....

You know, we need to all move to some town, gradually take it over and then rename it to MerryChristmas. Then as having all of you as my neighbors, we would all then have our christmas lights up and lit to this very day....could you just imagine...

Mistletoe Lane, Jingle Bell Blvd., and maybe streets named after all the reindeer!

Hmmmm. I have a council meeting tomorrow evening. I've been thinking of making a motion to change the city name from Bellville to JingleBellville. Has a nice ring to it, don'tcha think? cheesy

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

I worked most of the morning with the crew taking down the city's Christmas decorations from the power company poles. It was a bit sad, but we were discussing when to get started on repairs for next year, and when to start working on putting up the (soon to be ordered) Fall banners. It gave me a little cheer to think that fall decorating has to start in just 9 council meetings!

The rest of the day, I worked at my brother's shop on the Camaro he's rebuilding for me. We put it on the rack and sprayed the underside with rubberized undercoating, then did some more disassembing. I have to say, I didn't know a car could come apart in so many pieces. I'm taking the front frame section (known as the front clip) to my brother-in-law for sandblasting this afternoon.

I'm learning a lot!

It looks like hockey is back! Woooooooooo hooooooooo! Forget football! Just give me the Pittsburgh Penguins within two weeks and I will be a happy camper! It looks like a 50 game season would start by Jan 15 and a 48 game season by Jan 19.

Kind of a cute story I forgot to add: Any dog owners who sleep in the same room with your pet may relate....Since snowball has been taking his new medications I have had to wake him up from "nightmares" He kind of growls and makes noises..I asked the vet about it and he said pets have dreams just like humans..so now I usually have to wake him from bad dreams every night..poor guy..he almost took my hand off this morning when I woke him..I bet he was chasing a cat because he was moving his legs like he was running.

Love the way the Countdown is going. My brother graduated NC State. Not really a rival with ECU, but of course we had to rib each other, especially during basketball season.

Welcome to another day.....and another count figure:
Days to the Season: 311
Days to Christmas Day: 353
Single digits to the 300-day Season Window the day after tomorrow!
And barely over 1 1/2 weeks to that point.
(Moving right along toward Milestone #1!)

A bit warmer with lots of sun yesterday.
Nice weather for moving my older niece into her appartment at NC State University for this semester.
Hard to believe she is a senior now.
(Seems like yesterday that I was carrying her around as a small child.)
We have 42 degrees here currently with the promise of a nice day ahead, although it should still be a tad chilly.

Good morning & Merry "Little" Christmas to all of you!

It is the last day of Christmas and last day of Christmas music on Music Choice. Listening to it right now, I may record a little more before it switches to that Electronic junk at midnight, it seems like yesterday we were staying up waiting for the switch of Halloween music to Christmas music. What a great Christmas season this was. I am looking forward to 2013's version.

I got a text at 6:30 this morning stating the NHL lockout is over!!!!! Wooohooo! Bengals get knocked out last night, but I got cheered up right away! The Bruins and the puck being dropped within 2 weeks!

Have some more on my decor down but still have the tress and my window stuff up dont no how i feel ~{
Have a big gammon in fridge so i have it on cooking have done it with cloves honey and brown sugar hell its smells good
Its raining slightly today about 10c
Tomorrow will take hte rest of decor down inside and try to get the store sorted for the outdoor stuff a few of my friends are coming to help as they know am behind . as i have stuff needed fore the shop as well

Well gonna get the spuds on and the sprouts and get myself a feed
