Right you are. When we were in Gastonia a few years back, my complexion was in marvelous condition because of the humidity. My hair, on the other hand, was so frizzy! On our way back home to CA, my skin started getting drier and drier. The thing with humidity is that you just cannot seem to dry off after a shower. You also have to contend with mold and mildew. I have never had any mold or mildew on my clothes since I have been in CA (over 40 years), but in the South, you had to be careful with laundry. But out here, we don't really have four seasons. That is what I miss most of all. Thinking of your mom.

It depends on your elevation. Summer temps usually top out in the mid 80s at our house. It is rare for us to hit 90, I only remember it happening a few of times in 14 years here. With all the tree cover, we only get a couple of hours of sunlight on our house. Summer lows are usually in the low 60s. It can get humid but as bad as Gastonia.

Thanks, MGRamsey. We have so much homelessness here in California, even in our little town. Ever since seeing a movie about a well-educated woman who became homeless, I have just carried that fear around. It is time to shed that burden.

Wow. I don't blame you for being frantic. Prayers are on the way.

I'm quite excited and feel very strange today because I have taken my last examination at the university this year. So I can now say that my first year at the uni is completely and oficially finished.
Congratulations!

This stupid cough is still lingering but at least it isn't real bad when I'm up and moving. It definitely get's worse when I lay down at night though. So I guess I just won't sleep until I get completely over it.
I hope that cough goes away very, very soon!

It's been a crazy week. Yesterday we buried my Aunt who lives next door to my parents - so I was blessed to be raised with my awesome Aunt/Uncle living next door. She will be missed! What a wonderful lady! A stoke took away her eyesight about 2 1/2 years ago, so now she is able to see all these beautiful spring blooming trees & flowers again (which she always loved!) She turned 90 in February, so she did have a good & long life - just wish she could live for ever. My uncle (her hubby) is 92 & going strong, so hopefully he can stay strong through all of this. He will miss her like crazy!
I'm so sorry for your loss.

Sick child over here, again... seems like between my 2 boys and my niece, one or all kids have been sick for weeks now... blah! Poor Noel woke up with a fever so we're just hanging out at home on this rainy day.
Sending Noel get well wishes!

:rudolph:good afternoon/evening everyone:rudolph:
Hello Frostythesnowman :-D

Made, any news from CAH yet?

Your wife is right, especially about basil!

...
I don't want to work tonight, but I have a full weekend off so just today, Thursday, and Friday and I am there. We are going to take my wife to a garden store and buy her flowers and herbs to plant outside for Mother's Day, we discovered last year there is nothing like fresh basil and oregano to use for cooking and that is all she wants are plants.

Enjoy the day!!!!

It is great to "see" you Victoria. If I recall, your major is, well, a major job!!! Congrats on your completing the year. Did you do any more outside activities--didn't you go to a "wind" farm?

Hello everyone! I really hope you all are doing fine. :] I haven't been here for a while now. I missed the Christmas spirit the forum community brings even though the summer is almost here. ^^ I'm quite excited and feel very strange today because I have taken my last examination at the university this year. So I can now say that my first year at the uni is completely and oficially finished. It sounds pretty scarry actually. Before I started university 'one year' or 'four year course' had sounded as a way longer period of time. But now, I realize how quickly time actually flies. :] Majority of my new friends are leaving the town for a summer soon so it's going to be really quiet and boring without almost anyone around (because I'm not sure about my summer plans so it's really confussing me). I hope you all guys are enjoying the soon-to-come summer. If anyone is ill, I wish you to get better soon; if anyone is going through a hard time now, there will be better times soon - life is like that: full of ups and downs. Hugs to everyone. xx

Take care of yourself, Made. Stop and rest a while!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! The sun is shining and the temperature is a rising here in central Indy. We should top out around 75 this afternoon. I got up early and ran a few errands this morning so I could be home this afternoon when CAH emailed me about her mom's surgery. I promise I'll let you all know as soon as I hear from her. This stupid cough is still lingering but at least it isn't real bad when I'm up and moving. It definitely get's worse when I lay down at night though. So I guess I just won't sleep until I get completely over it. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

Maybe you can rest up and put some extra days in your energy bank, LOL!

Good morning, everyone! How are you all? I am well. I haven't go to reply to many of the posts, but will try later.

What are your plans for today? I have lots to do around the house, which I am going to go start now. DS is home, EA at preschool. DH is still on vacation, so he will be helping. Later this afternoon, I have an eye doctor appointment and then have parent-teacher conference for EA.

Back to work tonight I go, but then I am off Friday!!! I just got news from my mom, who also works with me, who is the Adm. Assistant of the Nursing Dept., after my vacation, I have to work 6 days in a row, because other people will be off. Blah...that stinks, but I am looking forward to the time I will be off.

Well, I am off to get stuff done! Talk to you all later! Have a great day! God Bless!

How long were your aunt and uncle married? Prayers for your uncle and that he can be comforted. When I was younger aunts and uncles on both sides of my family lived in the same town. Each of them had five kids, as did my mom and dad. Talk about fun!!!

Good morning! I just wanted to drop in & say "Happy Pines Day!" :???:

So far it's a beautiful day in Ohio! Calling for a chance of frost though Sunday night! Grrrr!

Congratulations to Great Aunt MerryBells! What a cutie!

Bradmac - I hope you are doing well in your cardboard box!

Made - I hope you are feeling better! Lots of icky stuff going around!

I need to scoot (I'm at work) but I hope you are all having an awesome day!!

Thinking of your sweet babies.

Sick child over here, again... seems like between my 2 boys and my niece, one or all kids have been sick for weeks now... blah! Poor Noel woke up with a fever so we're just hanging out at home on this rainy day. Jude has tball photos that we have to skip because hubby won't be home in time and I'm not dragging a sick 2.5 year old out in the soggy weather at bedtime for some photos. What a scrooge of a tball mom I am, huh? hehe!

We just read through the Dreambook AGAIN! I am going to put Elf on a Shelf on from my DVR now, I think!

-Breaking CIJ NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Valerie has confirmed that QVC's CIJ event will be the weekend before the 25th of July. So we are looking at the 20th and 21st. Mark your calendars now!!!!!!!!

I woke up this morning and the whole right side of my face was swollen. I went back to the dentist and he prescribed some meds for infection, just to be safe. It still hurts some, but I am sure it will get better.

That will be so special for the both of you! I am sure you will enjoy it!

Yes, looking forward to it!!

We are going out for a late brunch to a favorite restaurant with her, Dad, my sister Shannon, and niece Alyssa.

And I can't wait to give her gift to her =]

I commissioned a necklace for her, with beautiful stones & Yorkie charms hanging from it to represent Jazzie. The lady that I buy from is amazing!! So talented. She's designed a necklace for me w/ cavalier King Charles charms, and a bracelet too. And I had her do a bracelet for my friend as well.

Then, we'll probably stay the night to visit some more.
