Oh, my, that is sad that she lost him prematurely. WOW, 80 years old! I had no idea!

This Macaw was only around a year old. They can live up to 80 years so it's sad she lost this one so soon.

I came home from my first day back at work exhausted! Plus, I was in pain; so the first thing I did was take a pain pill!!! The kids were pretty good today, but having to take the time to reorganize the papers did not help. So we will have to try to make up the time during the rest of the week. Oh, well--the life of a teacher! I will leave the computer on, but will be watching the football game later and popping in every once in a while. Plus, I have to fit dinner in there somewhere. TTYL

You no looking at what has been said and it was a year old it was still a baby and i am swaying towards defacts from the parents. where was it got from
this can happen if some stupid breeder put say a brother and sister together and they breed, weak heart or if the parents are not in good overall shape they cant give the bird the right start in life and caomes back on it within a few years
cah ask her if she ever noticed a coloured feather on it maybe a yellow one or a orange one . just one or two

I received this just a few moments ago. After talking about animals, I thought I would pass this on. This short video won Grand Prize - Best of Show at International Wildlife Film Festival in Missoula Montana! The majority was shot on location in Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park and The National Elk Refuge in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

I ended up having to work a 12 hour shift last night, so I am pretty tired. Here's to hoping tonight is a better night at work!

Today was our first day back at work...the kids don't go back to school until weds though so her day was mostly just paper work and bulletin boards stuff. I did horrible on my diet..I even hate that word diet. brandi has good genes I mean after 2 kids she probably weights like 100 pounds.. I have to run 4 miles a day just to keep from gaining weight! I hear it only just gets worse the older you get. It does not help I am addicted to Pepsi's..not the diet ones either. I guess tomorrow is a chance to do better. I looked at our 10 forecast and it will be in the 80's this weekend..that is NUTS but at least is will be nice enough to do outdoor stuff. Anyhow I better run for now..will be back later tonight!

Hello Everybody! Happy New Year!! I am sorry I am a bit late with new year wishes. I have been off the radar for a few weeks due to illness. Sadly I missed out on fully celebrating christmas

I hope you all had a wonderful christmas and it exceeded all your expectations! May the new year bring you joy, contentment and good health. I look forward to counting down the days till next christmas and getting to know you all a bit more.

Good morning everyone!

Not much new hear. Another busy week! Had a great lunch at the in-laws. They made a nice home made soup. I had 3 bowls! It was very good. Also had garlic bread with garlic butter. My friends are complaining, but I have already started the 2013 Christmas countdown! Hey, if it makes you happy! And it does! Just enjoying a coffee and watching some tv. Going to do some cleaning soon. Have a Merry day everyone!

Good morning everyone!

I've returned to work full-time. My contract arrived late last week and I came in on Friday. But, this will be my first work week of the year. I'm sure lots of others are sharing a similar experience, although you may have known that you were returning to work!

Along my cold walk to work, there are still a few local shops that have their Christmas displays. It makes me smile and long for the Christmas yet to come. Thankfully, this countdown will keep me in check, once again! Speaking of "cold" walk. It was freezing this morning. The wind was a little brisk, which made my face almost freeze. I like cold weather, but it seemed to hit me pretty good this morning. -20c (-25c with windchill) or -4f (-13f with windchill). Yep. January is certainly the coldest month of the year!

I didn't do a whole lot this weekend. Kim and I were able to remain inside both Friday and Saturday nights. It was great to save money. Of course, we watched the Packers defeat the Vikings on Saturday night, which was great. I was a little worried - as I am with every game, especially those of the playoff variety - but they came through. Next Saturday, I will be sitting in the same place and reliving similar emotions when they take on the 49ers.

After following the lockout for several months, I was very excited to see that the NHL and NHLPA agreed to a new CBA early Sunday morning. Kim and I had suspicions while following the talks on twitter Saturday night. And, it was great to awake to the news!

Well, I hope everyone has a great Monday. It's the first full work week of 2013. Only 50 more until we reach Christmas!

I cannot wait until the NHL season starts, I guess I am one of the diehards that has come back to the game right away.

Good Morning MMC!!! Guess what? It's cold!!! You would think it's winter or something. At least we are still looking at the high 50's by the end of the week. Of course it's also going to be raining but at least it won't be a freezing rain I guess. Not much going on here today. I'm thinking about about calling Comcast to yell at them. My cable went off last night about 11 and didn't come back on until sometime after 1am. So I missed the last hour of Christmas music on Music Choice. I wasn't very happy with them. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you should get a few months free for them doing that. cheesy

Good/sad day at work yesterday. As far as everyone I work for and all the customers, always a good day! They really make me happy. We also had a lot more dogs than usual come in with their "parents" and I just love that! They all get hugs and treats from me!

The sad news was a lady brought in her Macaw Parrot that just passed away. She was in a panic and was asking us would we possibly know what could have happen to it. We do sale animal medication and know a little about treating minor animal illness but we are not vets. We have helped her in the past with other animals so she just thought we might be able to figure something out. All we could really do is suggest taking the bird into a vet for a possible autopsy. She said the bird was perfectly healthy yesterday and suddenly passed away in the morning. The sad thing was is how she broke down crying and stroking the bird. I started to cry, I felt so bad for her. I love to work with animals and have thought, in a way, it would be great to work for a vets office. I know for a fact I could never ever handle that! Too many tragedies and I would be a wreck all the time. Those Macaws are like having a child, they have large personalities. I really felt bad for her and did the best to console her. I just hope she finds out what happen to that poor baby. It was such a beautiful bird!

Speaking of people bringing their dogs in, we do have several people bring their birds (on their shoulder), cats, pigs, horses and more with them. Fun place to work. I do better working in a place where mostly healthy animals show up but occasionally someone brings in a very sick animal and it just breaks my heart!

I am sorry to hear about that.

I for one am not happy with them at all. Their explanation of why they cannot have an all Christmas channel 24/7 365 days a year was just lame. Something about having to wait until they can expand their channels ?? WHAT ??? yet, they play this techno stuff. Who really listens to that ??

That excuse they gave sounded like they were grasping straws.

Good Monday morning everyone.

Sorry I have been away so long. It has been a stressful few weeks. Both of my parents have spent time in the hospital. Mom spent 3 weeks in the hospital. Both are home now. Dad is doing ok. Mom is terminal. She has good days and bad days. The past few have been good. She insisted on taking care of both their funeral arrangements so we did that last Friday. She keeps fighting and looking ahead.

I kept a Christmas corner in my bedroom, where I left out my Mr. Christmas clock w/ the ballroom dancers, and my Mr. Christmas Grammophone. I decided they must stay out year round
