Christmas Countdown - 2013

Same here! Just your average, boring Thursday. What kind of tea do you like to drink? Anything special? I hope that work picks up a little bit, at least to keep you busy during the day. Sometimes sitting around and waiting for something to do is the worst. Have a good day!

Nothing special---in the morning especially, I like PG Tips (a strong English breakfast tea) with milk and sugar. For the afternoon, I keep some flavors in my desk drawer. Right now I have a box of Cinnamon Stick and a box of Caramel Creme. But it's been so busy today that I had another mug of PG Tips this afternoon to keep me alert! Must have been your wishing that things would pick up a little!

I am just trying to figure out how to preserve these videos right now. They are on VHS and I have this fear of the tape breaking down or the VCR eating them up. I was just discussing this with MerryCarey. I need to figure out how to get them on DVD and on an external hard drive. From there I can get some of it uploaded onto youtube. There is a way to do this, I just don't know how yet.

If your computer is up to it, there are thingies you can buy that allow you to patch your VHS player into your computer, record the movies with your computer, then burn them a DVD or edit them for YouTube.

[xmas365 beat me to this solution] If your computer isn't state-of-the-art or you're not very techy, various places will transfer VHS to DVD for a fee---here's where you can learn about Walgreen's service. Walmart and Costco can do it, too. Once they're on DVD, you should be able to rip the files to your computer, convert them to MP4 or whatever, and edit them into YouTube-sized pieces.

that time again, training the new girl on closing procedures. I prefer to work alone which is why I do the close shift. Plus we have the inspectors coming in tomorrow so we have to make extra careful about cleaning tonight, something I always do anyway but when training it is harder to get everything done.

Stay warm today! We usually have a milder Christmas and then it gets bitter cold here, too. It has been in the 50s the past couple of years for Christmas, except for this year.

Hi Jennifer! My youngest daughter starts nursery tomorrow! only for 3 hours every afternoon but its going to be strange her not being with me! Shaun has booked some days off aswell, going to be weird just the 2 of us going out shopping etc.. hehe!! xxx

No, she is a distributor for The San Francisco Chronicle and they have contracted with another source. I am not sure how many employees will be displaced.

That sucks, did the company close? Reminds me of a story I heard where a company was getting rid of employees near retirement so they would not have to pay out retirement funds.
I hope she finds something soon.

Good evening, everyone! Hope all is well! I am just posting from my new laptop and just trying to get a feel for it and my new keyboard. I am liking it so far!

How was everyone's day? Mine was busy...just sitting down to relax for a little while, before I go off to dreamland, since I work tonight. DH has been at work for a few hours already.

What does everyone have planned for the weekend? I will just be working. DH will be off Saturday and Sunday, which I am off Sunday night too - I have jury duty on Monday...blah, blah, blah. Not looking forward to that. Here's to hoping I don't get picked!

My dad had toes that were joined together and he was always showing them off to the kids, we all thought they were great looking.
