I hear you on the expense part. Luckily, we have the money (borrowed) to do our renovations on the kitchen, so we can just get started and do it. I can just imagine how you will feel the first time behind the wheel for real!!!

We're starting to get into expensive stuff, so I expect things to slow a bit. :-D Once it's safe to drive, it'll probably become a "work in progress".

Even though I am not really tired, I am going to put on my jammies and go sit in the TV room, rest, and read. I have a phone interview with Social Security on Monday, and on Tuesday, I go to Chico to fill out retirement papers with CalSTRS, the California State Teachers Retirement Service. After all the paperwork is completed, I will receive my first retirement check after 45 days. I also need to meet with my financial planner at Edward Jones. I think my last day of work will be January 31, 2013. It feels so good to type that!!! TTYT

That is so exciting!! Congratulations, Seawaters!! Xo

Good Morning, Weary Watchful Weekend Wishers.

And here we are.
Weekend Eve once again.

And now hear this:
(Well, read it anyway.)
Days to the Season: 306
Days to Christmas Day: 348
Now under a week off from our first Milestone of Christmas Countdown 2013, the 300-Day Season Window.
(Came mighty quick, didn't it?)

Another nice day yesterday with the high once again in the 60's.
Looking forward to 70+ tomorrow, Sunday and Monday!
I read 44 degrees here, currently.

You have a simply Fabulous Friday, Friends.
And a Wonderous Weekend commencement this afternoon, as well!

Yay!! Another milestone is in our sights!! Thank God for these days =] And thank you, Crown!!

I forgot to ask if you have named or will name your car? Also, when is breakfast on Saturday and what is on the menu? Who is going with me?

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

I worked at my brother's shop on the Camaro till 9:30 last night. We dis-assembled the front end and had it sandblasted. Last night we coated the bare metal with primer. In a couple days we'll spray it all glossy black, then re-assemble the front end. Then we'll be ready to drop the motor in!

This is my weekend at Bernie's (not quite like the movie!)

Gotta leave for work in a few minutes. Today is Friday, so it is assessment day. The kids also have PE this afternoon. Sometimes I use it as a planning period, but I have lesson plans completed through March 15. I talked with the person who will be the long-term sub for my classroom and told her I would let her do the lesson plans for the remainder of the year. That way, she can use mine to get acclimated to the class and to the curriculum without worrying about plans and copies. Then she can ease in to the position.

I forgot to tell y'all that I had to scrape my car yesterday morning before I went to work. It was really hard to open my door, too. Hubby said this morning that he will go out and take care of that for me. He is so sweet. Because of him, I can count on my fingers how many times I have had to pump my own gas in the last 16 years. I am so lucky!!!

What a gentleman! Love that!!

Good morning everyone!

I read some posts. Glad to see that most of you are doing well. Very little evidence of a Christmas hangover as we are now two days into the first double digits of the year. January 11th. Yep. And, of course, the second weekend of the year is on the horizon, too!

It should be a fun one. Strangely enough, Kim is much more busier than I am this weekend. She has to help a friend prepare for a bachelorette tonight and then attend the bachelorette tomorrow night. They should have a great time! For me, tonight is somewhat open. All I have on my schedule is the gym. Normally, I would have to volunteer at the outdoor rink, but I believe that rain throughout the day and warm weather/rain throughout the weekend will close it until next week.

In regards to my knee, I had my first sign of positive news in a while yesterday. There have been times where I thought it was 100% before, only to be severely disappointed upon attempting to return to action. My doctor asked me where I was in my recovery. I said about 65%? He said I was around 70% and I should only require two more visits... as long as I do not have an unforeseen turn for the worse. More rehab for the rest of the month!

OK. I should return to work. I have a few things to tackle. Have a great Friday, everyone! The weekend is almost here.

Hmm, I haven't thought about a name for the car. That's an interesting idea, thanks!

Breakfast starts around 6:30 on Saturday morning, including eggs, sausage (smoked & fresh), bacon & biscuits. Sometimes I even slice a ham. And, of course, lots of COFFEE!

Let me know what time you plan to land the Lear jet so I can have traffic blocked on the highway. cheesy

I'll look for that, thanks!

It sounds similar to a movie that was discussed on one of the podcasts. There was an interview with the writer of a movie called "They Wore the Red Suit", or something like that. It's supposed to be a documentary about the people who become professional Santas. I've been looking forward to that one, too.

Here is the trailer for it-

The directors cut is available for purchase on their website now too-

They are trying to raise the money to finish the film for general release.

I have one of those, believe it or not, but no screen. If I use it, I have to erase the board of all the info, which is a bummer!!!

White bed sheet and duck tape.

Yea, but I count Christmas days, LOL!!! Now I will start counting retirement days, especially after Tuesday when I find out exactly! I never thought I would look forward to retirement. But I am not retiring FROM teaching; I am retiring TO do more crafting, help re-do the kitchen, and do more traveling!

and more time on MMC!!!!!! Right???

I'm going!!! Can we swing down to Daytona after breakfast and watch some of the nascar practice?

That's good to hear!! Praying that you don't have anymore setbacks.

Good Morning, Weary Watchful Weekend Wishers.

You have a simply Fabulous Friday, Friends.
Did Carl give you these sayings? :D
As soon as I get home from school, I will get it since I have Netflix. I can watch it on my Nook Tablet!
Let me know what you think. I just loved every bit of it!
Make sure you make copies of the videos for your grandkids. That will be so special. I wish I could be there with you and your mom to watch the videos with y'all. That, too, would be so much fun. I'll bring the popcorn. Who wants me to pick them up in the Lear???
My mom would be in for a big surprise to see you all. She knows you all because I talk about everyone here all the time! =)
Whaaat?!? Counting the days is what we do best around here. cheesy
You got that right!!!

Take care of yourself and have a nice weekend! Tell Kim not to get too wild!
