Made will have to come, too. Who else could do dishes???

Seawaters, so far you are picking up MerryCarey, Caninemom and all her furry children to come to my house to watch home movies with my mom and I. Who else is coming???

So far you have popcorn to bring. I will have some cheesecake here. We need more goodies! =)

Party!

I guess I better buy what I can since I don't know yet exactly what my retirement checks will look like!

I always look forward to what Carl has to say!!! =)

Yeah, Kung Fu dubbing! Ha ha!

I do plan to add music from her era starting in the 40's. Problem is, she really don't like much music from that time. I actually enjoy it more than her! Lol! She is more into Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Wilson Pickett, Elton John, well you get the picture! She loves a lot of hip hop music too! Her mp3 player is loaded with it! Sorry but none of that would fit in and I am sure if she saw the video with the 40's music she will like it. Some of the home movies was taken in the 50's and I know she likes some music from that time. It would be comical to see old footage with a hip hop beat!

I cannot thank you enough for sparking this idea! I have so many thoughts going through my mind as to what to do in the video. It will be a great gift. Thanks to you, MerryCarey for getting all this going in the first place! =)

You have got a hip mom!

Christmasstar, great find! I just love going to thrift stores! I have found so many nice Christmas things at them!

Thanks to all of you, I am addicted to going to those stores looking for Christmas stuff. I love it now. cheesy

I just went online and also bought Becoming Santa. When I buy anything from Amazon, they always give me more suggestions; so I ended up buying Christmas TV Classics, Volumes 1 and 2; Rare Christmas TV Classics; and The Cat's Pajamas by Ray Bradbury. "I am spending money like I got it." That's what my mother used to say!

Those all sound great!!
I love your mother's quote. I spend money like that, too ;)

In one of the dreams, I was giving away a lot of my books and math manipulatives to two of our second grade teachers. It is so funny that when I told both of these teachers about my dream separately, at different times today, they both asked me if they were fighting over the materials. I told them no, that they were "playing nice."

My wife has inherited so much from retiring teachers, we got a whole bunch of Christmas decorations this year from one of the soon to be retiree.

Xmas365, I crack up every time I look underneath your name and see, "Son of a Nutcracker"! I see Elf saying that and it makes me laugh! =)

I just bought a t-shirt at Old Navy tonight that says "Son Of A Nutcracker" for $4.49 on clearance. Another one for my Christmas T shirt collection!

Here is what it looks like:

My in-laws had a video that was a slide show of still pictures from about the 1960s, but they didn't like the music track. Mr. re-did the music using albums that George Burns recorded in the 1980s---some old songs, like "Young at Heart," others new songs that were written for Burns to sing. Sounds weird, but it worked beautifully! I can't wait to see what you do with your family footage.

I could have used a nap today. It seems that since I have gone back to work, lunchtime is the line of demarcation for me. The pain seems to begin in earnest and I have to wait until I get home to take the meds. Oh, well, just a few more days. Have fun with your friends tonight!

We had a good time, except that where we were going to eat, the power was off in the entire neighborhood---we saw fire engines and personnel, so I guess maybe a transformer blew or something. The second place we went there was no parking space left, but we went to a third place that was okay, but not as good as the place we originally planned to eat. Sadly, their little terrier had passed away. Now they have a rescued dog who is a chihuahua/beagle mix---what a cutie, and so sweet!

I hope the midday pain---any pain, for that matter---soon stops.

I'll grab some cookies and Tastykakes on the way! Since Hostess went out of business, we now have Tastykakes around here. I missed them when I moved to New England. We used to stock up on them when we went to Maryland for a visit.

Happily, Dad's burial service is pretty much all set for April, except that I haven't yet been able to get the documentation that will let me take the urn on the plane to Maryland with us. I don't want to have to mail it to my aunt. If I do, I'm sure he'll be laughing about it up there. But I'll feel better if I can hand-carry the urn back home.

Good evening Christmas family. I am so whipped. These 10 hour days are quite tiring. But in order to make more money that is what I have to do.

Wish is doing well again...eating well, no sickness. You would never know he is ill. I hope everyone has a great, Christmassy evening !!
