Christmas Countdown - 2013

As Crown said in the countdown update, "Brrr!" is right. Travel to work this morning was downright cold. -23c. Yep. That's about -9f. Thankfully, the wind hasn't picked up yet, it was suppose to be about -27c (-17f) with the windchill. Not bad, eh?

I arrived at work a little earlier than normal today. As I mentioned yesterday, I have to leave at 3 to attend a friend's bachelor party in Mont-Trembant, Quebec. It should be about a two hour drive, so I'm hopeful that we will arrive around 6 PM.

Not much is new. Last night, I went to the gym for my 40-minute rehab run. It felt pretty good. I did a few other exercises as well. Then, I had to coach my team for the final time. They lost by a point, but they had some great moments throughout the game and their effort was almost always there. Despite finishing with a record of 3-9, I know that they improved a lot since the first couple game. Our last win was even over the #1 team in the league. It was fun. They asked me to coach them for the next winter league, which begins in a week, however, I am unable to do it due to the fact that I have to take an Intermediate Math (Grades 7-10) qualification. I suspect it will take up about four or five hours per week.

Well, I should do something at work, I guess. My bosses are both gone, but there is at least a little bit of work that must be done... For now, at least! Have a great Friday, everyone! 299 Days to the Christmas Season is here! And, of course, the weekend is right around the corner!

I saw lights on again at two houses last night!!! Loving it!

I saw a Christmas tree lit up last night. It was ginormous! It had to be 15-20 feet tall. It was like those little 4 foot plastic pre-lit spiral trees that people put in their yards except huge. I thought that the business took it down weeks ago. What a nice surprise!!

It is freezing out today!!!! I dread having to go out in this.

Yes! I have read all the Jack Reacher books. Let us know how the movie is. I was disappointed in their star choice, though. I didn't know that Tom Cruise had hands as big as hams!!! That gumbo sounds so good! Recipe?

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

We went to my mom's for supper last night. She made a spicy gumbo with turkey sausage (for me!), and it was great!

I hope to work on the car tomorrow, then Nancy says I'm supposed to take her out on a date. Jack Reacher should be a pretty good date movie, don't you think? :wink:

Hey everyone!

Can you believe it snowed here yesterday? For all of about 20 minutes and then it turned to rain and melted it all away! Well, at least snow showed up for a minute or two. And finally after a week of rain (with 20 minutes of snow) it is sunshiny sparkly blue skies today. It is so nice to see the sun again! I had almost forgotten what it looked like:grin:. And my husband and I have a truly romantic weekend planned....we're doing our taxes! Whoo Hoo!! We have been preparing for it all week. Add that to the fact that he just started his first week of his MBA program and you can almost feel the level of joy in our house

I don't know the recipe, but it sure was good!

I doubt Nancy will want to see the movie with Tom Cruise in it. She's really anti-wierdo-Hollywood right now...but he sure makes a good movie! cheesy
