Tonight was our priest's last Saturday Mass. He will serve Mass tomorrow and each morning next week. Our new priest could not arrive until next Friday. The church had a small "happy retirement" get together after Mass. He announced in church that "we have another person younger than I who retired last Thursday, Cherylle Waters." So sweet!!! One of the parents in our church told me tonight how much their daughter has appreciated me because I have helped her during her first year of teaching at the school where I was. She had some rough days with a VERY rough class and I tried to help her out, encourage her, and support her as much as possible. It is neat when someone recognizes that the mean teacher really is not mean!

Time for jammies and TV. We had such a good meal at the dinner for the police chief last night that I had to go back and order flautas for dinner tonight.

Step by step -- onward Christmas Soldiers we are, marching on to the Season.

Well, it may not be March yet, but we are three days into February already.
And this fine day also sees us down to SINGLE DIGITS to Milestone #2 of 2013, the 1/4 marker to our precious Christmas Season.
Days to the Season: 283
Days to Christmas Day: 325

It was somewhat warmer yesterday, albeit still too nippy for my blood.
But there's always a psychological lift to leaving January behind and entering the shortest month of the year.
We stand currently at 39 degrees here in the capital city of the great state of North Carolina.

You have a Super Sunday, Folks.
(In more ways than one!)
 
Off to church and then to the supermarket to buy some snacks for the game. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone! Been gone for a few days, but we have been very busy.

Thursday night we went to tell my Mom...what a moment....so that led to her taking us out to celebrate Friday.

Yesterday, my wife's family had her a birthday party. All of her sisters, nieces, and nephews were there...they all gave her good gifts...but they sure were surprised when she gave them a gift.....one of the best moments of my life....

So that's what's been going on here....I started cleaning out a room yesterday morning...going to have a garage sell in a couple of weeks to get rid of a bedroom suite...so that I can start creating a nursery...

wife said we might have to get rid of some decorations.....pff....I said we might have to get rid of the washer and dryer.....those decorations aren't going anywhere...

She laughed. I didn't.

My eldest needs a bedtoom suite, just mail it here for her. LOL
 
I had tried that yesterday. Now it is working again!!!

Have you tried just restarting your computer? Facebook and the song a day thread takes more memory to open because of the videos and all of the info on it. So it may just be that you have to much stuff trying to load at once and the computer is running out of memory.

back from church, very cold again today, -17c (1f) with a wind chill of -22c (-7f)...good day to stay in and have a bowl of hot soup for lunch.

My son said something about a football game today, stocked up on a bunch of snacks, friends coming over. Good thing they will all be downstairs in the rec room! I can even close the door if they get to enthusiastic.

well, got to get a cake baked for tomorrow, so be back later!
