How is everyone doing? Busy here. It has been a rather long week, too.
Mouse seems to be doing better. She has been chasing Palmer all over the house - I just cannot seem to keep those two from arguing. It is great to see her feeling better!!! The Greasy Skillet is tonight. I intend to listen while I work on my latest crochet project.

We are all settled in, thanks for asking. We are really looking forward to exploring the city once Spring gets here!! There's a farmer's market that locals have been raving about, and outdoor concerts down by the lake. We also can't wait to check out the bike trails!

What are you working on now? I'm crocheting this evening, too. I'm making one of these for a gift. (For a film collector, of course.)

I am working on an afghan for a gift, too. Mine is made of six-sided blocks similar to granny squares that are hooked together as you go. I learned how to do the three different side attachments for it and now I am working on figuring out a pattern for them - I don't want to follow the pattern in the book as it doesn't fit the yarn I want to use.

I know I've said it before, Merry, but I'll say it again: you do beautiful work!

I just bought a new Tablet and am trying it out. Wow, am I impressed! This is the "gadget" that let's me surf anywhere, and not having to rely on Wifi connections? I also bought a new Galaxy Note. Just had to share that I did what I said and spent money like I had it!

Good morning, Christmas family

A semi-gloomy day here. It is not really cold but it is certainly not warm either. I was up at 5 a.m. because I just could not sleep any longer. I got on and did all the work that was available and I am desparately hoping that more work comes. I was so tired yesterday that I stopped working sooner than I should. I guess I should have perservered on. Oh well.

Getting a little discouraged with my writing class. I took my second quiz and only got an 80%. I also did my first writing assignment. It was to sit and describe what I saw when I watched a burning candle. I noticed everyone else had lots of feedback about their submissions but mine had none until just a few moments ago and now it finally has one response. Maybe I am not meant to anything with writing except for blogging here. That would be fine. I know I miss the mark quite often here though, too.

Anyway, just to share with all of you, this is what I wrote about watching my candle:

I am sitting quietly in my living room watching the candle I have lit. It is a small votive candle in a holder that is an angel. The fragrence of it is vanilla and reminds me of days gone by when my parents would buy me ice cream cones as a child. The flame is steadfast as it moves and sways and bends effortlessly within the holder. It emits a light and warmth and gentleness as it silently burns. It illuminates the room about me with its gentle brilliance and calmness. It gives me a feeling of warmth and peace within myself.

I dont know what else I could have added. Perhaps it is boring or too short. I dont know. Everyone else seemed to have a lot more to say in their submissions. But then I know I am not supposed to compare myself with others, sorry, a habit I have had all my life. I will persevere on and perhaps I will get better.

CM3, don't beat yourself up for getting 80%, that is a good grade. The writing about the candle is not a big deal either, it is harder to be forced to write about something, than to come up with what is in your heart, these exercises are just trying to teach you to look beyond what is in front of you. Follow your heart, it lead you to take this class, see where it takes you. Most of all enjoy it.

I got to sleep in until 7am this morning so I'm not as tired as I have been. Mom is doing okay. She said the feeling in her fingers is coming back even more and leg is doing a little better.

Glad to hear she is doing better, she is still in my thoughts.

We are going to Chico to do a little shopping. I am glad to have some coins in my pocket. I think I will spend money like I got it!!! I received a package just moments ago that had my three new purses in it. I bought two and got the third one for free!!! These are some of the best purses EVER!!! Go to gigihill.com and look over their stuff. Now I have something to carry my jingle in, LOL!

It was very busy today, everyone preparing for what is now supposed to be less than 2 inches of snow. You would have thought a massive blizzard was coming with how much people were buying, job security. cheesy My wifey made some blonde brownies today, they were so yummy. I am absolutely exhausted tonight, tomorrow is a day off, so sleeping in is on my plans, I hope.

My niece is okay. She had an appointment at the pain clinic on thursday. They think her nerves are basically damaged from all of the pain she has been in and now that the arthritis has calmed down they still think there is pain there when there isn't. So they gave her a couple of different medicines to try and help calm the nerves down and get her pain under control.
