he sure did! It snowed again last night

Thats so funny. I heard on the news this morning that on this day last year we had temperatures in the 70's. Its in the 30's today. Thats a big difference.

We never had an icebox but I grew up with rotary phones and TV's with tubes.

Us oldsters can remember when you could repair your TV yourself! Just look in the back to see which tube was not lit up, pull it out, go down to the local appliance store and buy a new one.
The stores even had do-it-yourself tube tester machines you could plug your suspect tube into to check it out. The new tubes came in little cardboard boxes.

I think I remember that you and I are the same age, Crown. My dad used to take the tubes to a place that had a tube tester to see which tube was bad. He even had tube testers of his own later on !!

And we still talk about "taping" a TV show or movie, even though there's no tape involved now.

My grandparents have a cabin in Colorado and we go up there from time to time. Long story short, it still has a VCR and not a DVD or DVR player. My son found a movie he wanted to watch, and out of habit from the ol' VCR days I started fast forwarding through the previews to get to the movie. He said, "Dad, just hit the menu button" (he was about six at the time). I had to explain there was no menu button. He was fascinated with the VCR after that...it seemed ancient to him! DVD or DVR is all he's ever known.

My appointment is shortly so I have to leave the house now. I have been hoping and praying all day that it isn't melanoma. I'll let you know how it goes when I get home!

Have a wonderful afternoon and happy Friday!!

Prayers are going with you Jennifer xoxxoo

One of our film collector friends threaded up a 16mm film to show his young nephew. The dear young nephew said, "Why are you turning the lights out?"

I personally miss the VCR. It was much easier to use, in my opinion. Everything is so difficult today. I still don't know how to use our dvd player. My hubby has to do it for me. Pathetic, I know.

Good morning everyone. My daughter is home from school again today, still not feeling well. I'm going to take her to the doctor in a little while. I'm sure everything is fine, but she her cough is worse so I just want them to take a listen. Not too much else going on for me. Just a few errands and chores. Hope everyone has a great day!

hope she feels better soon homemakinggirl...:sparkle:

Hey guys,While we were away in Utah we had a house sitter named Julie, she is a local college student and a animal lover as well. I like her and we both trust her in our house, and when we got back she said everything went smoothly. Just a while ago I was going out to the mailbox and spoke to the neighbor and he said snowball got loose weds night and basically the whole block went out on a search mission for our beloved pooch! Me and brandi usually never leave him alone except the 8 hours of work which he is use to. But for days to be gone just upset him to the point he broke loose to go find his parents!! Anyways he came back about 5 am and everything is fine, but I just don't know why Julie did not tell us,I understand accidents happen and Brandi feels the same way. Well we are not going to mention it to her and meanwhile I am so glad Snowball came back and is safe and sound!!!

And we need to say prayers of thanks for all the answered prayers! Thanks, Jennifer!

Thank God all is well! I have been praying extra hard for you, Seawaters. You deserve all of the good results and the best news that is possible after what you've been through. I will be sure to say prayers of thanks :) I am so beyond happy and relieved for you! Hugs!

Oooo, yes it is the perfect pairing!

Good afternoon gang.... still trying to get caught up on all the posts ... geez there is a lot .

Did some shopping yesterday and found some really great clearance sales. I picked up some gifts for the kids but the big question is do I use them for their birthdays or Christmas? Also picked up a christmas gift for my mom and one for the hubby.

Kids want to bake some cookies this weekend and I want to watch a Christmas movie .. a perfect pairing:razz:

Have a great day ... off to catch up on some more posts.
