Hey!
Did Bing give permission for you to borrow one of their coffee cups.

You deserve to take time and relax !! Hope you have a nice Christmassy evening !! Let us know what you think of The Hobbit ! Have you read the book ?

Thank you! I read the Hobbit a couple of years ago and loved it. I was surprised to hear that Peter Jackson was going to make three films out of it. Some people have told me that it (the first movie) is really drawn out but the action really picks up towards the end. We didn't get the chance to watch it as planned because of taking my daughter back to college took alot longer than we planned so looks like I still have a little wait until I get a chance the movie because it's almost 3 hours long.

Sounds like you could use some Icy Hot, I hope you enjoyed Bertucci's, we haven't been there since my oldest sons 2nd birthday which means it was just about 6 years ago.

Oh man was that pizza I got something good!!! I got a brick oven thin crust pizza called Pucillo. It had Pepperoni, sweet italian sausage, peppers, onions, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Talk about good, my sons manager also gave us a free dessert (which was really nice of her), so it was slice of Tiramisu for me....

Oh baby was pappa happy!!!! You know what this means, for the rest of the week it's Healthy Choice, fruit, oatmeal and such just to make up being a bad boy last night; lol....

Sounds like a great scheme. I saw a quilt one time that was red, white, and blue, but not the "normal" red, white, and blue. I always thought it would make a beautiful afghan. I wish I could find something in those colors so you could see what I mean. I will keep looking! I also saw some yarn that I just might go back and buy that was a warm brown (almost taupe) muted turquoise, and cream. The turquoise was about the color of a Siamese cat's eyes. I thought that would look good in a ripple afghan. Normally I think of colors for ripple afghans since I love that pattern and since it is easy to do.

That yarn you found sounds gorgeous. What brand was it? I have never been able to master the ripple afghan - maybe I should try doing one again. It would look great with the different scrap yarn whites, creams, beiges and browns I have been saving. Thank you for putting the idea in my head, Seawaters!

I've seen totes that have places for the skeins and then a hole through which you thread the yarn. This is helpful if you are working with more that one color.

I'm going to have to look for one of those totes. I pass up doing a lot of patterns as I dislike untangling yarn - not to mention Mouse loves getting into the middle of all the skeins.

Oh yeah, and JP won 3rd place in the Pinewood Derby yesterday.

Good night for the third time tonight.

Congratulations to JP!

I haven't tried it, but I've read that if you have to carry the yarn over more than four stitches, it's better to use a separate bobbin or ball of yarn for that section of color. It makes sense in theory. Or you can crochet over the dropped yarn, but it makes the fabric very stiff and can show through, depending on the colors and the type of yarn.

I've carried yarn over lots of times - it takes some concentration, but when all is said and done makes for a cozy afghan. I've done the separate balls for each color, too, that was messy!

I have always loved that movie...to me Art Carney was a fantastic Santa !! Have you ever considered buying a copy off one of the private merchants who work through Amazon ? I have done that a few times and the videos were in EXCELLENT condition, unopened and a great buy. Never a problem !! xo

I've bought CDs from private merchants and had no problems, too.

I hope you get some much needed rest this evening and have Christmassy dreams !! xo

Good morning, CM3. I had a great sleep last night - must have been your Chrismassy dream hopes for me that did the trick! Have a MERRY day!

I have on my jammies and it is time to relax. There are still some things I need to do before I watch TV--like help bottle up the spaghetti sauce! Good night, y'all!

Please post the spaghetti sauce recipe!

Lights out over here...alarm goes off at 5:30 tomorrow morning!
Sleep well everyone!

It is so nice to see you on here, momnan! Have a MERRY day!

I know everyone is tired of Winter but I so HATE the heat of Summer..

I think I am the only one around here who wants the cooler weather to stay.

No I'm right with you both.... Believe me, with my location, being sandwiched in between the Cheasapeake bay/ Atlantic Ocean and the mountains, the weather here stinks in the summer. Besides the heat, you get the humidity and the mosquittos. Then once the heat starts, the grass starts to grow and the trees bloom and then my allergies start to go off the cliff... Then I'm on allergy meds untill the fall...

That's why I love the fall so much; relief....

Good morning, MMC!

Coffee and the Countdown in the morning - oh how I've missed doing this!

Have a MERRY day!

Happy Rudolph Day!!!

:rudolph:

Good morning everyone!

Stopping in for a quick hello! I have been quite busy the past week or so. I apologize for not getting here too much. My course ends on Friday and it has been taking up a lot of my free time. Even at work, I am trying to work on a few assignments. Although Friday symbolizes the beginning of Easter Weekend, I think I am a little more excited to get this class over with!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was quiet. Filled with homework and relaxation. It was very well needed. Great to see that today is the 25th! Our third Rudolph Day of 2013. And tomorrow, we reach yet another milestone!? 1/4 to Christmas Day?! Hooray! It's closing in so fast. Now if only we can experience some seasonal warmth and Spring temperatures in Ottawa!

There is still plenty of snow on the ground here. It is a strange sight. Last year, I photographed a budding tree on March 22nd. This year, there isn't any sign that we're even close to that. That's how crazy weather can be. I guess the good news is that our temperatures appear to be on a steady incline as we head into April. I'll take that.

Well, time to return to work. I hope everyone has a great Monday. It's a short work week. Let's enjoy it!

Good morning everyone, I awoke at 5:30am this morning and peering out the bedroom window, the snow was falling and the ground had about an inch of snow covering it. So, I got dressed, made my lunch and cleaned of the van so I can take the mrs to work this morning. It's still snowing right now, (about 3 inches on the ground), it's a really wet, heavy and slushy snow. It's sticking to everything which makes it look really nice and Christmasy outside (about 3 months too late; lol). I'm hoping that it doesn't turn over to rain like their calling it to turn into, I would like to see a big snow event for the first time this year, so here's hoping for the best.....
