Thanks!!!! Did you end up getting any snow? We're sitting at about 7 inches with maybe another inch to go through out the day.

We did !! And it is still snowing....I took some really pretty pics though not sure if anyone still wants to see snow !! It is the kind of snow that outlines the trees like in A Christmas Story when the kids woke up on Christmas day - Beautiful !! xo

I'm so excited that it's snowing on Rudolph Day! Everyone is so mad about the snow but we've barely gotten any! I'd take snow over the heat and humidity in teh summer ANY DAY!

Thank you! I read the Hobbit a couple of years ago and loved it. I was surprised to hear that Peter Jackson was going to make three films out of it. Some people have told me that it (the first movie) is really drawn out but the action really picks up towards the end. We didn't get the chance to watch it as planned because of taking my daughter back to college took alot longer than we planned so looks like I still have a little wait until I get a chance the movie because it's almost 3 hours long.

I am a big fan of J.R.R. Tolkien and of course of his colleague, C.S. Lewis, who wrote among other things, The Chronicles of Narnia series and The Screwtape Letters. I thought The Hobbit was very very long. Also, I don't want to give anything away as you have not seen it but it seemed to me there were an awful lot of things added that were not in the book...Hope you like it !!

Happy Rudolph Day !!!!!

That yarn you found sounds gorgeous. What brand was it? I have never been able to master the ripple afghan - maybe I should try doing one again. It would look great with the different scrap yarn whites, creams, beiges and browns I have been saving. Thank you for putting the idea in my head, Seawaters!

Ripples can be great for scrap/stash afghans. I once made a baby afghan using leftovers---when I ran out of a color, I'd finish the row in white, do the next full row in white, then join another color to start the next row. When I was finished, someone asked me for the pattern!

Here's a scrap one I made that way. It wasn't very handsome, but it had a certain crazy quilt effect:

You do such beautiful work, Merry !! But it is not surprising....You excel in so many areas xoxoxo

Hello everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend. This is one of my favorite times of the year...coming up on Easter Sunday! Beyond easter, it mean's the weather will be nice soon and the kids will be out of school before I know it.
Hope you all have a good week!

Good morning dear Christmas Family and Happy Rudolph Day March 2013 !!!

The count is zipping right along, isn't it !!! That is so great. I am just sitting here waiting for more work this morning, which is pretty typical for Monday. I do not have too much more to do today as I started at 5:30 a.m. today and I got lucky - Got a doc who uses a template partially filled in and all I had to do was modify it a little for each patient. Starting to get a wee bit nervous about final exam for my writing class. I know if I just slow down and take my time all will be well.

Xmas - I hope you are feeling better !! xo

Take care, Christmas family xoxoxo

I know lots of you are tired of snow...but who can resist a Christmas tree ?? Especially GLITTER Christmas trees - DRINK UP !!! xo

Thanks, Ryan ! If I just take my time it will probably be okay..I have always been one who wants to rush through tests and have them over...but when I take my time of course it is better...xo

That soes sound like a good dinner, XmasTidings! Did you get any snow? My son who lives in Maryland told me yesterday they were expecting some.

Oh man was that pizza I got something good!!! I got a brick oven thin crust pizza called Pucillo. It had Pepperoni, sweet italian sausage, peppers, onions, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Talk about good, my sons manager also gave us a free dessert (which was really nice of her), so it was slice of Tiramisu for me....

Oh baby was pappa happy!!!! You know what this means, for the rest of the week it's Healthy Choice, fruit, oatmeal and such just to make up being a bad boy last night; lol....

I use any brand, whichever color strikes my fancy, but mostly Red...oops, something; I just drew a blank!!!

Are you almost to an end? Wish I was there...I'd help you. Shoveling snow isn't something we have to do too much here in Oklahoma.

There is one more heavy band that could lay down another couple of inches but it looks like it may miss us. We are going to have light snow stick around through tomorrow though.

Made, I will remind you of this post when it's 95 degrees in August!!

I'm hoping this cold start to spring will mean that we don't see 95 degree's in August!!!!! I'm all for a below average summer!!!

It really isn't a recipe, per se, just season and taste!!! We do have the advantage of a great Italian sausage made at the local market that really gives the sauce a boost. Fresh basil is a must, as are fresh mushrooms. The mushrooms and onions are pre-browned in a little garlic olive oil. We also use diced Italian tomatoes, the kind with garlic, oregano, and basil already in it and another Italian tomato brand with bell peppers and two other spices (can't remember right now, but they are all in the same section of the store). I just look for various kinds of tomatoes. We also use Contadina tomato sauce and Tone's Italian seasoning. We used to be able to get a Spicy Italian Seasoning, but we can't find it anymore. Hubby does all the cooking on this one; I do the tasting and suggest more seasonings.

Please post the spaghetti sauce recipe!

I bet that is a sweet picture indeed, seeing Stripey staring at that sandwich, LOL!

whut up partners....still doing stupid housework...and got stuck in front of the computer....lol....I might be doing the mopping tomorrow...I prefer to get it today tho....stripey is sitting in front of kandice staring at her sandwich...lol...a funny cat...she used to steal chicken wings outta kandice little 2 year old hands back then...haha

Great to see you, Brent. I hated it when my free time was spent on doing classwork! I am sure you will be glad to be finished; but then there is always something else to learn, LOL!

Good morning everyone!

Stopping in for a quick hello! I have been quite busy the past week or so. I apologize for not getting here too much. My course ends on Friday and it has been taking up a lot of my free time. Even at work, I am trying to work on a few assignments. Although Friday symbolizes the beginning of Easter Weekend, I think I am a little more excited to get this class over with!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was quiet. Filled with homework and relaxation. It was very well needed. Great to see that today is the 25th! Our third Rudolph Day of 2013. And tomorrow, we reach yet another milestone!? 1/4 to Christmas Day?! Hooray! It's closing in so fast. Now if only we can experience some seasonal warmth and Spring temperatures in Ottawa!

There is still plenty of snow on the ground here. It is a strange sight. Last year, I photographed a budding tree on March 22nd. This year, there isn't any sign that we're even close to that. That's how crazy weather can be. I guess the good news is that our temperatures appear to be on a steady incline as we head into April. I'll take that.

Well, time to return to work. I hope everyone has a great Monday. It's a short work week. Let's enjoy it!
