Christmas Countdown - 2013

Hey guys...I gotta tell you something. I had the nicest note tonight from Louann's sister, Margaret. She is so nice and gracious. I have extended an invite to her to stay here on MMC. If she does would one or more of your volunteer to show her the ropes and to explain how the countdown works and how to navigate the forums and such. It would be a delight to have her around as a regular.

Hello everyone. Ballcoach, congratulations on the news of your baby girl! My baby girl is about to turn six this summer, and I can't believe how old she's getting. Not sure if I shared this story or not, and if I have I'm sorry...

But, you mentioned the concealed carry permit, or the cleaning of the shotguns. It starts early! My daughter was outside playing with her friends on our street and she ran up to me and said, "Daddy, those boys are trying to smooch all of us girls. But I put my hands up and told them 'enough with the kissing!'"

Dang right that's enough with the kissing, you little punk boys. :lol: But she has me and her big brother to look out for her.

They make me miss my Dad even more. He truly is one of my best friends.

And my Dad thought just like you two, he would point out his guns hanging on the gun rack at our house when a boy would come over!!

Adrian & I are taking a trip to see both of our families this weekend. Can't wait!

Your Dad sounds like he was a man after my own heart! Did Adrian get the gun tour, too?

I hope y'all have a great trip to see the families!

Like everybody else, I'll jump in and help out when I'm available. (The darn office is eating up more and more of my time and energy lately ... often not able to check in during the day now.) I certainly hope she sticks around. Being Louann's sister, she's already a member of the family!

I don't think he was shown the guns, but he did get a talking to! I'm sure it was a polite, but firm, take good care of my daughter kind of talk =]

My poor parents had only met him a few times before we moved away to Las Vegas, so they had him over for dinner & my Dad talked to him outside while he was grilling for over an hour. My Mom suggested that I just let them talk for a bit & stay inside with her...!

Ahh, to be fly on the wall!!

And I recommend forgetting about concealed weapons. I suggest cleaning a shotgun in your lap while sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch, preferably when it's time for the boy to arrive. I'm not there yet (thank you, Lord!), but I have several shotguns that need regular cleaning. That usually happens on Saturday evenings...on the front porch. :wink:

I am going to try to be more active on MMC this month. I've just been real busy with work and searching for a stable job. My current job ends again mid-May and I will be very disappointed if I cannot find full-time employment as soon as my contract ends here. All I can do is keep trying. Again, it is quite a shame when someone with eight years of post-secondary education cannot find a position anywhere. Still, things could be worse.

Praying that you find something soon.

My niece is in 2nd grade and already talking about how all of the boys are such "cuties". :-?

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a cloudy day here with a high in the mid 70's. Tomorrow we are going to hit 80. Booo!!!!!! I want my 50's and 60's back. I broke down and got my short's out though. My plan for today is to listen to my buddy whine for awhile and then I have some cleaning to do. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!
