I just found out by email that I made an "A" on my big Saint Nicholas/Santa Claus capstone project! I am very excited! Thanks for all of you who have been encouraging me and asking me about the project. One step closer to graduation, which is one month from tomorrow!

Great job!!!

Well I was enjoying my afternoon by sitting outside with my neighbor until he got up and tripped and went shoulder first into the sidewalk. From the pain he is describing, I'm pretty sure that he cracked a couple of ribs and most likely broke his collar bone. He refuses to go to the ER though. At least for now. The next time he goes to use the bathroom or take his shirt off, he may change his mind.

I hope he is okay, and goes/or went to get that checked out.

If you want an extra dose of Christmas tonight, Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost In New York are on ABC Family!

I saw that was on tonight, but as usual nobody in my house wants to watch Christmas movies during the offseason. My brother in law came over and we watched our sophomoric shows like Tosh.0, and funny inappropriate for MMC videos from YouTube.

I don't think we have night herons around. From the way you describe them, I'm sure I would know if they were out there. The crows get pretty loud when they all start squawking. Otherwise we have mostly cardinals, blue jays, robins, wrens, sparrows and mourning doves. Oh and we get seagulls! I'm not far from the beach.

Seagulls... funny birds! Sometimes at work I eat my lunch outside, especially when when I am having a bad day, or just feeling anti-social, there are dozens of gulls hanging around. I would take pieces of what I eat and toss it, to see them dive and hop for a piece of pizza crust or something just makes me laugh.

The gulls from Finding Nemo are so perfect.

I want a tornado!!!!! It's been too long since I've seen one. I want it to stay in the cornfields of course and not go right through my apartments.

Gulp!!!! People here in my town are still freaked out by the one that went through here nearly 2 years ago. The town has come a long way, one church's steeple has been rebuilt, and the other one is just starting to be rebuilt. I should go around town and take some pictures of how we have rebuilt in the last 22 months. We still have issues when a thunderstorm watch or warning is issued, the boys are terribly frightened by strange noises, they heard the tornado go by it missed us by less than 1/4 mile, we are on the side of a mountain, the tornado was on top of the mountain. So they heard the "train" quite clearly.

Tonight's dinner: Ribs, dirty rice with red beans, cole slaw, and homemade hush puppies. It was so good. And I learned something. Did you know that if you cut with the sharp edge of a knife that it actually works and that cutting with the other side doesn't, LOL! I tried it twice! Dessert is coming up: Cajun bread pudding.

Ribs sound so good, I need to have some soon.

Remember, it doesn't matter what side of the knife you use to cut the cheese. cheesy

Sometimes those are fun, too!! ;)

Good evening,

It was a long day today at work, why do the days get longer the closer you get to vacation?
I just want to say you are all the greatest group of people, seeing all the tributes to Louann, and the support for one another during this hard time has been such a beautiful thing. I will admit, I was somewhat avoiding coming here to clear my head for the last few days, I would just read the posts, say something quick, and go. Just reading everything made me realize I can't stay away for long, I want and need to be part of this family. You all are the best!

Good night everyone.

OMGOODNESS y'all, Seth's b-day cake turned into a hot mess!!!! Star, where are you???found a recipe for a strawberry cake on Pinterest. tried doing 4 layers. 2 of the layers tore up in the pans. tried to piece them as I was icing it. the icing had coolwhip in it....a runny mess. Yes the cakes were completely cool & yes, the icing was very cold, I double checked.
Anyhoo, Seth now has 2 cakes, 1 layer & goo in 1 container & 1 layer & goo in the other container. I cried!!!!!!! dried my tears, cleaned up my mess & when he came in from class I told him about it, he said, " Mama, you know I don't care what it looks like as long as it tastes good!" God bless that saweet baby boy of mine cause it sure ain't looking pretty!

And sure it was not as bad as ur making out~} you give it a try and i bet seth thought more of it that a bought one as he know the effort you put in to it..

Did anyone have any weird things going on with their MMC connection today around 2:30ish (est)? The main site would allow me to log in, but it took me a page asking me to join up with a platinum membership and would not let me go anywhere's else. I logged out and opened it back up 2 hours later and everything appears to be fine. Kinda weird.....:-?

Yip i had it to same thing i keep trying seemed to last about 20 minutes, i have seem that happen before

About my package from Louanne, CM3: The title of this huge book is An Ideals Treasury of Christmas, a 2-in1 Christmas Collection. The first part is "Home for Christmas," and I want to share the first poem that introduces the first section.

Welcome Home

The snow is white and glistening;
The stars shine bright above.
I'm going home for Christmas
Home to those I love.

~~Gladys Billings Bratton

The second section is entitled "The Greatest Gift." One story from this section is entitled "A Gift from the Heart" by Norman Vincent Peale. With your permission (Can't you just hear Louanne saying that?) I want to share the last paragraph and insert CM3's name instead of the name of the person in the original story:

"Strange isn't it? A shy woman alone in a great impersonal city. You would think that nothing she could do would affect anyone. And yet, by trying to give away love, she brought the true Spirit of Christmas into our lives, the Spirit of selfless giving. That was Louanne's secret--and she shared it with us all."

Ryan, I think you and Sugar are right. She is right there with Saint Nicholas, drinking coffee after each glittery sip, saying, "Glitter! Drink up!"

Lovely seawaters for you to have that ~}

I have a question. I hear about the Pines all the time, and I know the history of the Pines (thanks for the wonderful thread by Christmas-a-holic). But, where is the Pines? Do you all just meet in this thread on Wednesday nights? I'm usually at church on Wednesday nights so have never been able to stop by, but a trip to the Pines this week might be a good idea.
