Good morning!
My father had his surgery yesterday. It kept getting delayed, they didn't take him in until the late afternoon. The doctor performed a bypass and it was a complete success! It was so nerve wracking the way they rushed him in to the city like that. I wish that he was closer so that I could just go run up and see him. But I am happy that he is in good hands there. Hopefully we will find out today how long they expect him to be there. I wanted to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, it means so much to me. You are all amazing. So very thoughtful, kind and caring. I'm lucky to be part of this forum!!!

Glad to hear that he came through the surgery okay. I'll continue to keep him in my prayers.

Good morning everyone!

Well. My final day at Health Canada has arrived. At 12:30 pm, I will be leaving work for a physiotherapy appointment. It will be the end of my final shift here. I've been in and out of the office since November 2011. Although it would be nice to come but, I'm really hoping to have something permanent before I can return here next year. We shall see! Onward and upward, as they say.

My dad arrives today. I'm excited. Again, he's driving from Sault Ste. Marie and should arrive around 3 pm. It should be a night filled with hockey watching. Who am I kidding? It will be a night and weekend filled with hockey watching! We'll see if he has any other plans when he arrives.

Hopefully I'll have time to enjoy the weather this weekend. Again, temperatures are to be in the mid 20s all weekend. And, of course, the sun will be shining, too. I love all the seasons, especially Winter, but it is truly a great feeling to finally have warm weather back in Ottawa.

Well, I hope you're all ready for the weekend. It's only a few hours away. Have a great Friday!

Have fun with your dad this weekend!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone. I haven't been on much this week so I am way behind on posts. I hope you all are well!

I ended up not being at work yesterday as I called in sick. Wednesday night I was up until 4:00 am as I could not sleep. Turns out, I have a pinched nerve in my lower back! That thing hurts like a son of a gun! It has been shooting pain into the front of my left leg. Anyway, I'm sure it will be better soon and not anything big...be back to normal soon.

The doc has me on a steroid. He said it won't give me 'roid rage, but will make me hungry. So, my BBQ bender I have planned for this weekend may have just gotten even bigger.

Hope you all have a great Friday!

Praying you feel better soon!!!!

Updated news on my mom. Since she has fractured her ankle she will be having surgery and has to have screws put in. She is very nervous about it.

If anyone has been through this could you please send me a private message? She is wanting info on what to expect to calm her nerves and I can pass that info along to her. Thanks in advance!

Prayers and good thoughts sent her way will be greatly appreciated!

I hope you all had a great time at the 'Pines yesterday. Carl sure pulled out all the stops for the first day of May! Today should be an eventful day. It's my final full-day at work. Tomorrow is half-day due to a physio appointment. I like a few of the people that I work with, but I'm ready to move on. Glad to have the opportunity to start a brand new position right away on Monday. Having no downtime and a constant income is exactly what I need.

Good luck with your new position!

Good Morning everyone!

They just played, Walking in a Winter Wonderland on the weather segment of the news! The weather has been wacky here. The other day was in the 80's then it dropped to the upper 30's yesterday, cloudy and still chilly this morning.

Yesterday I watched The Brady Bunch (yes, love that show still). It was the Christmas episode where Carol loses her voice due to laryngitis. I love when Cindy ask Santa to give her mom's voice back for Christmas so she can sing at church and he she would be able to sing. Her dad says, "Santa can't do that, he's not a doctor". Cindy says with a big smile, "He's better than a doctor, he's Santa Claus"! You go Cindy! I'm a dork, I know! Yep, I love that show! Ha ha!

With the cool weather that show came at a perfect time, it felt Christmasy. I then popped in a M*A*S*H DVD and watched a Christmas episode from that series.

It's about time you get back on here!!!!!

Ryan, I know all too well about those back problems. So painful! I cannot take steroids at all. They have even prescribed me a child's dosage of it. It doesn't make me hungry, I actually lose my appetite completely and get the jitters really bad. I will not take them at all! I am sure you will do just fine on them, most people do.

Get well!

Still praying for her.

Good evening, MMC!

I hope this finds everyone well.

Mouse update: she has a tumor in her jaw. It will not go away, but the vets are giving her meds to shrink/keep it at bay. She had two teeth pulled so she should not be in any pain. I have to take her in for shots on Saturday and will get further instructions then. She is in good spirits, but very hungry. I am not supposed to feed her until tomorrow and then it will not be her favorite food as she needs to heal a bit. Although it wasn't the news I wanted, I am happy that she will be around a while longer yet. the vets are take her to love cats, so I know she is getting the best possible care.

Thank you all so very much for the thoughts and prayers for her - you, my friends, rock! {{{HUGS}}}

Be MERRY and safe!!!
Meceka, I'm so sorry to hear about Mouse w/ the tumor. bless her sweet little heart. I will be praying for both of you doll!

I hurt my back while I was building the deck around our pool last year. I went to a chiropractor for a few weeks, and she fixed me right up! I hope you get over it soon!

Sending a prayer for your mom and for you. I haven't had screws in my ankle, but I do have a plate and screws in my neck. See?

I asked the doc if I could have a copy of this x-ray. He said he's asked that all the time, and he could sell me a copy for $50! When he walked out, I took a picture of it. LOL

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be an overcast day here with a high in the low 70's. My big plan for today is going to be heading to the horse track and making my bets for the derby. I'm going to go with Goldencents, Revolutionary, and Orb. So if anyone else is going to bet, avoid those horses!! They will probably all stumble out of the gate and then throw a shoe before they hit the first turn if my luck at picking horses holds up. I also need to avoid the other building at the track that I can't name here (the server has that word banned for some reason). All of those machines with flashing lights and ringing bells will be calling my name though. So it's going to be hard. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

Cool!! Okay, well it's not cool that you need them but it's a cool xray.

You can do it! Resist the temptation! :-D

We have quite a few of "those places" (since that word is banned...I assume it starts with a "C" and ends with a "asino") all over Oklahoma. The Indian tribes are allowed to own them.

Good luck!

Thank you, mgramsey & xmastidings!!

We already have 8 inches, and it's still coming down!! It's insanely beautiful!!!

So - how much did you end up with? Or is it still snowing?? I hear people in WI had roofs collapsing? It does look beautiful, I'm just ready for warmer weather for awhile! :)

Good morning everyone! Happy Friday!!! Hope you all have something fun planned! I'm looking forward to a Mexican Fiesta tomorrow night ~ Cinco de Mayo party AFTER the Kentucky Derby!! Fun day!!!!

Take care friends! :rudolph:
