I tell you what, CAH, I LOVE that name!!! What are your other choices?

I am very anxious to catch up on here but we have a new family member that I am very busy with. We got a young dog and I cannot wait to share the story with you on how we rescued it. We are trying to come up with a name and my granddaughter said, "How about Mr's Claus"?! Very tempting but still thinking it over since we have a few names to consider. I just had to share that with you real quick. I just love how Christmas is always on the mind of a 3 1/2 year old!

Good afternoon!
Just got back a little while ago from walking the dogs again. The temperatures were only supposed to be in the low 70's today, but the sun is shining and if feels warmer than that. I turned my air conditioner on, the second floor of the house is getting too hot.
My two youngest will be home from school soon, I'm having a cup of coffee while I wait for them. We will be heading out to the seamstress soon and then my youngest wants to pick up her paycheck. I may have to get some ice cream from Haagen Dazs while we are there getting her check cheesy
My oldest went in to work today and could not find her car keys when she went to leave. I had to give her the spare one that I had. I hope they turn up somewhere otherwise I'll have to have it replaced. These kids would lose their heads if they weren't attached to their shoulders.
Hope everyone is having a great day so far!

Good afternoon!! It's hard to believe I posted 1 week ago today & it was 33º & I was covering plants in the garden - 1 week later it's almost 90º! What the heck?! O-H-I-O! :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend! My brother from Cape Cod flew in Thursday & surprised us. He is still here! He was going to leave this morning but he can't get out - It is really foggy at the altitude he will be flying, so he is waiting it out! He might try it around 4:00 this afternoon -I'll just keep hoping & praying he stays safe! EEK!

Today I am receiving all these emails with Memorial Day Grilling recipes...it's making me so hungry!!! Does anyone have any fun Memorial weekend plans??

Make it a great day!!!

I can't wait either, Snowflake. CAH always has the best stories. I especially love her grandkid ones!!! And the work ones. And all the animal ones. LOL!

Congrats on your new family member!!
Can't wait to hear all about her!!

It's warmer here today, in the mid 70's. At last it feels like May instead of February! There is some honeysuckle blooming on my Mom's property, and it's making the whole area smell wonderful. Summer can't be too far away now!

Aww the poor thing. Molly acts the same way during a storm. Maggie will just burrow under the covers but Molly is a nervous wreck and can't stay in bed with us. She runs around in circles, not knowing where to hide. I heard about something called the Thundershirt for dogs. Its supposed to help them with their anxiety. I have to look in to that.
I will tell you something that we do. We have a little plastic box, its basically a doggy litter box. I only take it out when they absolutely refuse to go outside, like during a thunderstorm, or snowstorm or even just a heavy downpour. I place it by the back door and slap some newspaper in the bottom of it. When I put them in and say "go potty", they go. lol After the weather clears up, I put it away. Hope you don't think I'm crazy! They are tiny dogs and it works well.

That's great that they'll use it!! I say, whatever works..

I thought about thundershirts for my parents Yorkie, Jazzie. She goes out of her mind, the poor thing. She hides, usually under a bed or behind the toilets. But, on a few occasions, she hid for so long that my parents were frightened because that couldn't find her! One time, she was behind the refrigerator in the utility room, and one time in the cupboards, behind the built-in lazy Susan! She actually crawled under & in! The time she was behind the refrigerator, she must've jumped from my parents bed in the middle of the night, and in the morning, my folks were frantic. They searched & searched, called her name, but she wouldn't come out (it was still storming). Finally, by the afternoon, they called their neighbor Diane, and asked her to bring her dog Max over. Max & Jazzie are buddies, and he sniffed her out, LOL. He was their hero!!

Back to the thundershirt thing, I don't think it would help Harlowe, only because she hates her winter coat. It bothers her so much that she won't potty with it on :/ Little stinker...

But they are a great invention, I think it would help Jazzie. Let me know if you try one for Molly.

Thanks for your suggestions!!

Not on this forum, we don't!!! It is perfectly logical, not crazy; unless being crazy is really logical, LOL!!!

Have a great day with your friend. I am sure it will be a fun time, plus good food! Where are you going for lunch? Have a glass of wine for me, LOL!

Thank you!!

We are meeting at the Ashley Furniture restaurant / pub again, just like I did with my sister =]

Best & only place to go in town, lol.
Aside from fast food, of course.

That is such a cute story - Max saves the day!!! But how scary when they can't find Jazzie!! She hides good!!

I'm glad you checked in ... we were worrying about you.

Hello everyone. Crazy Sunday yesterday! We spend some time in the tornado shelter with the sirens going off around us, but we were never in any real danger. The town my grandparents live in, Shawnee, was hit fairly hard in places but they are okay (the neighborhood behind them took a direct hit and one fellow was killed). The storms stayed south, east, and north of us, and we were in the middle zone that didn't have any tornadoes, thankfully! Just hail, strong winds, and crazy rain.

What's strange is the night before all these storms hit, my wife and I found our VHS tape of the footage I took after a massive tornado we had back in 1999. We watched that Saturday and showed the kids.

Hope you all had a great weekend! And hope you have an even better week!

Hey Holiday!!

How are you, friend?

The weather this year is nuts =}

What a nice surprise your brother gave you!! I'll keep him in my prayers that he has a safe flight back.

My two cousins are coming to visit me that weekend! So, we plan to share old pictures, grill out, shop, and maybe hit a winery. Guess some of that depends on the weather!

What about you? Going to the lake?

I haven't caught up on everything here, but I wanted to ask how your mom liked her Mother's Day present? I think I was almost as excited as you!

She loved it, Seawaters!!

I didn't get a photo, it was grand central station at their house that day, but I promise to take one with her wearing it next time I visit!

Here is a photo my Dad took while we were all at brunch:

Good morning, my friends!!

Happy Monday!

It is a cloudy day, we still have a flash flood watch throughout the evening. Looks like the rain will stick around awhile. The humidity is here as well.

I have some studying to do today, and lots of laundry to fold. Yay! Haha!!

Tomorrow, I am going to meet an old friend for lunch in Arcadia, which is about an hour away. It should be fun to catch up! I haven't seen her since our wedding.

Hope you all have a nice day!! Stay safe, dry, and cool!

xx
