Christmas Countdown - 2013

Lol...I'm seriously the worst mother, but you know how I got him to go back to sleep? He kept asking me for a snack and of course I told him no. Finally he ran out of my room and to the kitchen, kept trying to open the cabinet, which has a child proof thingy (don't know the proper name for it) on it, and it wouldn't open, so since he couldn't open it, he threw himself on the kitchen floor. He started screaming and crying again. EA is such a light sleeper...so instead of taking him into his room and letting him scream, I gave him a snack.

I know, I know...I shouldn't have. He slept until 9:00 am though.

LOL!!! Hey, if it works and he's a growing boy, so one snack isn't going to hurt.

I actually thought about that, but I'm going to try to get back up around lunch time, so I think in about 10 minutes or so, I'm going to close the laptop, put my sleep mask on, and really try to close the world out...lol

Yeah, Benadryl will knock me out for about 4 hours at least. I hope you get some sleep!!!!

This is probably the last time I log on from Georgia we have 4 more days until weleave for Utah!! Brandi has 2 more days of post planning then we are out of here!!! Have a great holiday weekend my fellow Americans and everyone else have a great weekend also! talk to yall when I get to Utah!!

I agree, but my pediatrician wouldn't. See would never say that's okay. She would say, a little crying isn't going to hurt him, which I agree, but...it's also going to make his sister go nuts, which that is where I go nuts. She is worse then him...lol. She's a little drama queen!

Hey everybody! Between Paul and Bay City, some of yall have been jamming! I love, love, love live music. A lot of the songs on my phone are my favorite groups playing live (ripped from youtube). You just can't beat live music.

Yesterday, we went to a branch of Toys-R-Us called Babies-R-Us. Let me tell you, I can't wait for Christmas with a little one! There were all kinds of things! It just was almost overwhelming! We had such a good time looking at all the little gadgets and toys!

More outside work today. I really need to weed my flower bed, but I HATE doing that! But I bought my flowers Thursday night, so I need to do it.

Love the Christmas in July party coming up....I love this place.

We're MAYBE thinking of having a #3 and I had to stop in BRU the other day to look at car seats for the hubby's car for Jude... and man, I love that place!!! Magical baby wonderland.. hehe

I am smiling right along with you! Only a mom and someone who has been through this knows what an accomplishment that is! We know, though, that it ALWAYS turns out right in the end, LOL!!!

Good evening, everyone! How was your Saturday? Mine was nice. I've been enjoying spending time with the kids this weekend. It's been cold here though! It should warm up for Monday, so that's all that matters to me.

What are your plans for tomorrow? I'm not sure what we'll do tomorrow yet, but it will be lots of family time, that is for sure. DH will be on his days off, so I am looking forward to it. I go back to work tomorrow night, then I will be off Monday.

Special news from my house! DS used the potty tonight before bed! He's been attempting to use for the past week, but he actually went on it tonight. I was so proud of him and he and his sister were too. He's not even 23 months yet, so I feel that's a pretty big accomplishment for a boy. I hope he can keep it up.

Well, I am off to read some more of the posts. I hope you all enjoy what's left of this night, then enjoy tomorrow. Thinking of all of you. God Bless and keep smiling!

Good evening!
I can't believe how cool it was today. It rained all day and the temperature barely made it over 50 degrees. We had a nice time with my family. My mother grilled steaks and made mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables and a big tossed salad for dinner. Dessert was chocolate pudding pie, assorted cookies and a birthday cake for my dad. I am very tired now. I am hoping that it isn't a late night for me. We have to go to a graduation party tomorrow. It is going to be brunch at a restaurant so it will be an early party. I am going to text my girls now to see where they are at. I would like them to come in a little bit earlier tonight.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Saturday :-D

Here's the recipe for one of the strawberry thingies. I will also post this in the recipe section later today.

Strawberry Mallo Cheesecake Squares​

40 Vanilla Wafers, finely crushed 2 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
¼ C (1/2 stick) butter, melted 1 T lemon juice
1 8-oz. bag Strawberry Marshmallows 2 C thawed Cool-Whip
1 10-oz. pkg. frozen strawberries in syrup, undrained, but in half

Mix wafer crumbs with butter; press into bottom of 13 X 9-in. pan; set aside. Put marshmallows and strawberries in microwaveable bowl and microwave on high for 3 minutes or until puffed, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until well-blended; set aside. Beat cream cheese and lemon juice in a large bowl with electric mixer on medium until well-blended. Add marshmallow mixture and mix well. Gently stir in whipped topping. Pour over crust. Refrigerate 4 hours or until firm. Cut into squares to serve. Store leftovers in refrigerator.

I love music, but can you believe I have only been to one concert my whole life. It was the Straight No Chaser concert in spring 2010, it was great, it was an anniversary gift of going out for a date with my wife.

Same here---I've only been to concerts of local groups (barbershop choruses, etc.)---I've never been to a rock concert. We saw Straight No Chaser twice, and I saw Woody Herman and his band at a concert at my high school when I was a student back in the 1970s. Otherwise, just recorded music (and lots of it).
