Christmas Countdown - 2013

Putting the finishing touches on packing today, then heading for the airport in the wee hours. Excited and nervous to get on our way.

I could use some prayers for guidance, please. I got some more unexpected news about my father's unresolved estate. The current (second) executor is quitting; the first executor, who embezzled five figures from the estate, is still hiding out somewhere; the estate lawyer can't make a claim for the bond issued to her as executor until she's found and brought to court. And that can't be done unless I agree to take over as executor. I honestly don't know if I have the time or money to pick up the ball. My share of the estate, before the bond is claimed, is less than a third of what I've already paid in legal expenses to try to untangle the mess. The bond is for less than half of the amount she actually stole (before legal fees are deducted). I can't shuttle back and forth between Massachusetts and Florida if I'm required to be there in person. I don't know if I can afford the time and money to keep pursuing this, yet the thought of letting her get away with her thievery is unbearable. It's going to be hard to keep this off my mind while we're away. It'll be a very hard decision to make.

I went to the doctor today. I am tired still, yet I hope to begin feeling better soon. We are leaving tomorrow for Mt. Shasta and will return on Wednesday. I will be back later this evening, though, before bed.

Catch 22 day here for ol' Ballcoach....

Good news...

Last day of school. Saw some good friends retire and move on. Gonna miss them! Had a great ceremony for them and it was a good day...

Bad news...
My trusty companion of 12 years is at a critical point. Almost 1.5 years ago, they told us he had congestive heart failure and we would likely have been 6 weeks to 6 months....and here we are. He is a big dog who has exceeded his life expectancy and his back legs are just about to quit. We are trying one more thing at the dr.'s recommendation, and then comes a tough decision. My love, his trust in us, and friendship for my dog is about to be tested. I'm going to have to make a decision....and it's going to result in him leaving. I know...it's what's best for him....

but it sure hurts us....:-?

Oh, coach, I know what you are going through as I am going through the same thing with Mouse. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your trusty companion!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to let everyone know I am in Utah now and am settled in to our home! I start work next Monday and am looking forward to it. It was a hard move and I am so glad it's over. I say this everytime but I mean this is the last move! I hope everyone Is doing good and I look forward to posting more this summer!

I am so tired. I can't wait to go to sleep tonight. My daughter is working so I'm going to be awake for awhile.
I have been thinking about this part time job offer and I think I am going to step out of my comfort zone and give it a shot. I am excited but nervous. I will be going in to the office tomorrow afternoon for a couple of hours to begin my training. Keeping my fingers crossed that it goes well!
I hope everyone is doing great and has had a wonderful day so far :-D

Good evening, MMC!

The long day I knew I was going to have today was made even longer by the lack of sleep I had last night. Is it too early to call it a night? I am going to try to stay up at least for another hour or so as there are a few things I still need to do tonight. The county has sprayed for mosquitoes three out of the past five nights - that tells you how bad it has been here. Was actually able to walk outside and look at the gardens when I got home - nary a bit! Yay!! I might be able to sit outside on the patio and enjoy my morning coffee - it would be nice! I stopped at Goodwill this morning and found two Christmas books I did not have and a Mikasa Christmas bell - made my day!

Good evening, snowflake!

I am tired, but well! How are you doing? We haven't gotten any storms since Friday - the ones that were forecast for us just ended up being drizzle. Good thing, too, as the ground is water logged still and the trees were dropping leaves fast and furious do to the soaking. I just checked the radar and it looks like what you are getting could end up over here by Thursday in the early a.m. Stay safe! How is Harlowe handling the storms?

A wonderful evening wish to everyone here from sunny (strike that) from rainy Florida.....lol Seems to be the thing down here everyday...

Well, so far we have been to Universal Studios twice and Sea World yesterday. Tonight we are heading back to Universal Studios to go see the Blue Man Group at 8:00 pm and then do some pm shopping! Tomorrow, we are going to do the Gatorland thing, and get me some of those gator bites ,(taste just like chicken).

Can you believe my luck, I just watched the weather channel and they just said that a low is forming in the gulf and that it can come over Florida as a tropical Depression dumping 4-6 inches of rain here on Thursday; nice...

Glad you've had a break from the storms. And thank God they sprayed for mosquitoes.

Harlowe is doing better. She's very uneasy with them, but not terrified any longer. She does follow us around the house, and want to be near us, but she isn't hiding or shaking, so I'm glad about that. Thanks for asking.

How is Mouse? Still praying for her, and sending extra hugs.

Hey all! Hope everyone had a great day. Busy here, even though today was the first day school was out. We start planning for next year around the last week of school, so we are knee deep in 2013-2014 already!

I have some time off coming next week. I can't wait. The rest of this month, I'm going to be taking a day or two off each week...so I'm gonna rest up. I'm already ready for the 4th of July...which means we usually take our first trip to Hobby Lobby since Christmas...I can't wait.

Two Christmas Shows in two nights! Christmas Vacation and Elf! Good times!

another lovely day in Vermont. Still really cool and will be so again for the next few days with more rain coming. Doe not look good for the deck painting party as the deck needs to be dry for a few days first.
Feeling old now, someone gave me my first ever seniors discount! I knew I should have colored my hair again before leaving! At that store they give them to anyone over 55.

Good to catch up here and read about school being done for the season, moves done and settled in, pets doing well, vacations being enjoyed!
I am going to enjoy some more of my book in awhile.
