With all seriousness....why isn't it Christmas in June??? Anyone know?

Okay who knows which podcast had MerryCarey's Vaudeville segment in it? Wasn't this mentioned in it?

It's also in the Christmas Library as an article---you can search there. I don't remember which podcast myself! I'm flattered that you remembered that. I love the story.

In short---vaudeville performers had to work through Christmas, so they gathered to celebrate their Christmas in July, when theaters closed due to the heat.

Made it to Hilo---we paid for wi-fi access while we're here, so I have to get my money's worth. My body doesn't know what time zone it's in. Off to bed soon. It's 2:45am back home.

It is going to be partly sunny today with a high of 70 degrees.
It is going to be a busy day for me. I have to get everyone up and going in a couple of minutes. My daughters moving up ceremony is this morning. We are going to stop for something to eat afterwards. Then I am coming back home to take care of my dogs before I head in to the doctors office to start training for the job. I will pop in when I can, it may not be until tonight.

Yet another Good Morning, my Friends.

These daily meetings just keep coming and going.

And like sand through the hourglass, so do the days of our count:
Days to the Season: 161
Days to Christmas Day: 203
And thus we find ourselves less than half a week away from Milestone #9, the 200-day Christmas Day Window.
Really nearing that auspicious point!

Cooler yesterday, with just a slight morning sprinkle.
Now we are in for a short dry period before that tropical disturbance in the Gulf brings us more rain.
Currently, the thermometer shows 65 degrees here.

Mid-week once again, Guys!
Time to let that certain camel strut his stuff. What will Carl come up with for the first 'Pines open house of June?
One must go to know.

We are off to the teddy bear factory and then to the Morgan horse museum today. After that will take in some of the jazz festival in downtown Burlington.
