Our Baby went in for surgery. The vet found three more growths that turned out to be cancerous. He "woke" her up and she passed out. She still has not revived. It is really hard to type this as she will not be coming home. How hard it is to be the mom and dad of a furchild.

I'm so sorry Seawaters! Praying for you!

Dear Seawaters, I'm so sorry.....but I'm convinced that our animals know how much we love them and how lucky they are to be in good homes with caring people....you made your animals life better....and it loved you because of that....God bless you....you are such a sweet person....I'm praying for you...

As of 11 a.m., Mr. still hadn't been visited by a neurosurgeon. His surgical team think he's healing really well and showing no signs of infection, but he needs a neurosurgeon to say that before they'll consider releasing him from the hospital. The suspense is gnawing at me. It's the difference between his coming home in a day or two versus more surgery and a couple weeks in the hospital. He looks good, sounds good, is eating well, and feels pretty well considering what he's been through, but we just don't have the final word yet. I appreciate all your prayers ... looks like they're being heard ... please send up a few more, if you will. I'll be visiting him again after work.

and MerryCarey, I know how tired you are and how ready you are to get home...Mr. is pretty darn lucky to have someone who will be there by his side....stay patient....you will be home soon....prayers for you, too.

Ok.....we are going to give this vacation thing another try.....here we go....

I'm off work until Monday!!!! Yipeeeee!

I am ashamed to say I am just now listening to the December podcast...a bit late...but it's wonderful to hear so many of your voices! Now, when I read your posts, I wonder if I'll hear your voices in my mind?

Listening made me smile, and was just what I needed today!

Seawaters: All the best to you and yours right now. Stay strong!

so happy to hear he is doing so well. Will pray the neurosurgeon will stop in soon and he gets the green card to go home again!
I would be nice for you both to have him home for the 4th!

That's what I'm hoping for. The Fourth is my birthday, and what I want for my birthday is to bring my Mr. home.

Thank you ... I don't want to mislead you: I haven't been there at the hospital with him all this time. But I've certainly been there in spirit. I went to work yesterday and today to keep myself from constantly fretting, and stopped in to visit him on my way home. As for patience ... oh, my fingers are cramped from being crossed since Sunday. He's doing very well, so I'm not worried about that. We're just waiting for assurance that the infection didn't spread to the shunt. The neurosurgeon has to decide whether the shunt is contaminated and needs to be replaced now, or whether they should just keep him on antibiotics for now and keep and sharp eye on any signs of infection while letting him heal from the appendectomy. I think they're leaning toward the antibiotics route, which would get him home quicker, but he could still be looking at surgery down the road. Hoping not.

This is probably TMI---I apologize for that. I have a one-track mind at the moment.

Pretty good, thanks =]

How are you, friend?
