Christmas Countdown - 2013

4am and I'm till up. It's definitely been one of those nights.

I was up then too, but having to be at work by 8am tried really hard to ignor it and go back to sleep. So I am not sure if I slept and had some really weird dreams, or I had really weird thoughts while half asleep.

Good Morning! Another grey. cold and wet day here today. We are expecting a heatwave in a few days and boy am I ready for it! Sun and warmth is very rare where I live lol so it is indeed a novelty when we get it!

So yesterday when I picked my son up from school, he announced quite casualy that he'd like an owl for his birthday .....LOL As I can't get him a real one , I'm on the hunt for a soft toy look alike.

I have a list of things I want to get done around the house over the next few days. I seem to have little clumps of clutter everywhere in the house and it is driving me crazy. My eldest son's room is so overcrowded with toys and bits, I don't know where to start.

I imagine that you all are very excited and busy planning for tomorrow!

we are supposed to have a heat wave here the next few days too.Will you know if we actually get it.
I hear the royal baby is about to arrive!

It's 'Pines Day!

A pre-Fourth celebration is on tap at the Shispering Pines complete with lots of flags, bunting, Sousa music, fireworks, free iced tea.......
and Carl dressed up as Uncle Sam, greeting guests at the door by saying "Uncle Sam wants YOU to try our new red, white and blue frosted fired twinkes".
(I told him that was a little over the top but -- well -- you know that Carl.)

Anyway, I digress.

Back on track:
Days to the Season: 133
Days to Christmas Day: 175
Day after tomorrow, Guys -- SINGLE DIGITS to our next Milestone, the 2/3 Season marker.
Zowie, Batman!

Same old pattern here. Off and on rains with long, damp, cloudy lulls in between.
More of the same for today and maybe tomorrow before somewhat drier weather arrives for Friday and the weekend.
Currently, we have 74 degrees here in this neck of the woods.

Morning Claire! Hubby mentioned this to me yesterday and I burst out laughing as I have gotten so used to so called heatwaves and then nothing. I hope it is true! We have had horrible weather here for a few weeks with only the occassional dry day.
Fingers crossed we will be soaking up some warmth in a few days :???:

Hope so! seeing its july I think we should be due abit of sun lol xx

Good morning!
I am going to walk the dogs as soon as I finish my coffee. I woke up early with my daugher because she had an early meeting at work, but her manager canceled it at the last minute. So we woke up really early for no reason. Oh well, I have things to do anyway. I have to finish up my food shopping for my July 4th barbecue tomorrow, I went to the supermarket last night but they didn't have a couple of things that were on my list so I'll have to go somewhere else today. And I have to go to my butcher for burgers, hot dogs, chicken and ribs. I also need to go to the mall for a baby gift. My nephew and his wife just had their first baby, a little boy. Then back home for chores. My youngest has drivers ed again this morning. After today she will get a break from that for a few days, she doesn't have to go back until Monday.

But actually it was 3 post. I think you posted yours as I was posting my 3rd one. =)

Happens to us, too ... sometimes I just reach over and shake Mr.'s hand after we've just said the same thing simultaneously.

Oh yeah! Same here. Also we sometimes just look at each other and know what each other are about to say. I will ask, "Are you about to say (whatever it is we are thinking)"? We start laughing and sure enough, that's exactly what it is!

Our Baby went in for surgery. The vet found three more growths that turned out to be cancerous. He "woke" her up and she passed out. She still has not revived. It is really hard to type this as she will not be coming home. How hard it is to be the mom and dad of a furchild.

Very very hard!!! I am so sorry, please know you are in my prayers.

Thanks for the warm welcome back my Christmas friends! Being gone for 2 weeks is too long!

We actually had a cool front come in the past few days with highs only in the upper 80's. Very nice for our area!!! We were actually able to go outside in the mornings for bike rides without dying from the heat. Usually we can't even do that in the summer even at 7 am because it's way too hot. For tomorrows forecast they predict it will be 85 degrees by the time fireworks start (9-9:30 pm), getting back to hot days again!

I am not sure what all we plan to do tomorrow for the 4th. We are closed at work but Wayne and I will go in to feed the animals.

Have you tried the time old remedy of a glass of warm milk?? Hope you get some sleep soon !

Yuck, I can't stand to drink milk. So that wouldn't work for me.

Not over the top---there's only one July Fourth each year! Count me in, especially for the Sousa music and fireworks (which I hope will be simultaneous!)!

I don't like plain milk, either. But put just a little sugar and a touch of vanilla in warm milk ... now that's soothing.

I'm posting from the hospital waiting room. I brought my mom for a procedure that's not an emergency, but she'll be sedated, so I'm her driver.

my boss just called to say he wants me to go to birmingham for a week on monday. i wish i'd had more notice, but you can't say no...lol.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! We are going to start warming up here today with a high of 80 degree's. The 70's were nice while they lasted. My big plan for today is to head to the gun range with my buddy. It's been awhile and we both need to blow off some steam. Then it will be back home to make a cheese ball to take to my sister's house tomorrow. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!
