We are so glad to hear from you and completely understand your absence. I have heard that a lot of people are not happy with the Gastonia hospital, especially with some of the changes recently. My niece is an RN but not at that hospital. She works mainly in geriatrics in Bessemer City. I am so thankful you were able to get your mom to Wake Forest. I know a lot about the wound pump and drain lines. I had to learn to take of it myself, except that once a week, the home health nurse came to visit and checked out everything. I am sure you guys are seeing that she gets loads of protein and those "loaded" milkshakes. Sometimes it is hard, especially if the patient does not want to eat. I have been that way lately. Like today, we went to Carl's Jr. (Hardees) and I had the monster biscuit. I started to eat and then decided that I just wasn't hungry. I did end up eating something around 3:30: half a mayonnaise sandwich, LOL!!! Does your mom have access to home health care? In one of my posts, I sent you a video link. I will try to go back and find out where it is and resend it. Tell your dad to take care of himself and don't forget to take care of yourself, too. Prayers your way!

We were gone most of the day to Chico for appointments. For some reason, I was really tired all day.

Does anyone else have Yahoo email and were MADE to change to their "new and improved" service? It is crap--I cannot think of a nicer way to say it! I would be absolutely embarrassed to say that I had a hand in its development. What garbage! Does anyone have a suggestion of what we could switch to without a lot of trouble? I am desperate!

I have a dental appointment tomorrow morning. I will be starting on a treatment for bone health because of the chemo and radiation and I have to have a clearance from my dentist that I have no infections related to my teeth or gums. I start Zometa in October. The side effects sound like what I went through when I had to take Neulasta after each chemo treatment. I don't think it is going to be fun at all.

Here is what info I have:

Severe and occasionally incapacitating bone, joint, and/or muscle pain has been reported in patients taking bisphosphonates, including ZOMETA. Do not continue using ZOMETA if severe symptoms develop, as some patients had the symptoms reappear after taking ZOMETA or another bisphosphonate again. In aspirin sensitive patients, bronchoconstriction (tightening of the airways in the lungs) has been observed while taking bisphosphonates.

Report any hip, thigh, or groin pain to your doctor, as unusual thigh bone fractures have been reported in patients receiving bisphosphonates, including ZOMETA. These fractures may occur with little or no trauma.

HCM patients may experience flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, flushing, bone pain and/or joint or muscle pain). Common side effects in HCM patients include fever, nausea, constipation, anemia, shortness of breath, diarrhea, (Well, which is it?) abdominal pain, worsening of cancer, insomnia, vomiting, anxiety, (Ya think???)urinary tract infection, low phosphate levels, confusion, (I already have this, LOL) agitation, a fungal infection called moniliasis, low potassium levels, coughing, skeletal pain, low blood pressure, and low magnesium levels. Redness and swelling may occur at the site that you are injected.
Common side effects for patients with multiple myeloma and bone metastases due to solid tumors include bone pain, nausea, fatigue, anemia, fever, vomiting, constipation, shortness of breath, diarrhea, weakness, muscle pain, anorexia, cough, joint pain, lower-limb swelling, worsening of your cancer, headache, dizziness (excluding vertigo), insomnia, decreased weight, back pain, numbness/tingling, and abdominal pain. These side effects are listed regardless of any potential association with the medications used in registration studies of ZOMETA in bone metastases patients.
Eye-related side effects may occur with bisphosphonates, including ZOMETA. Cases of swelling related to fluid build-up in the eye, as well as inflammation of the uvea, sclera, episclera, conjunctiva, and iris of the eye have been reported.

Okay, who is ready for a field trip to see my oncologist? Any takers? I will share nicely, LOL!!!

We are going out to dinner tonight. I just didn't want leftovers (even though I love mac and cheese) and I don't really feel like cooking.

We just started when we stood at the traffic lights.....when I suddenly hear Mariah Carey singing.....a CD ....loud in a car.....but no...it was not Without You, Hero or any of her regular hits.........it was

Kandice and I were almost ecstatic.....lol.....I turned around to her with a huuuuge smile and gave her a thumps up........she returned my grin and that whole situation made my day.....

I heard the first Christmas Song of 2013.....on July 10th.....and the best is.....that it was not in my car

What is everyone's plans for tonight? I have some things I want to do around the house, but I am just going to mainly relax, spend time with my family, read some and watch the Christmas movie tonight on Hallmark.

Tomorrow, I am taking EA to the movies - she has never been there before, so this will be a treat for her. In the summer, they do a summer movie series, where it is $4.00 for the admission, popcorn, and drink. The movie is a year or so old, but kids still love it. I am then going to take her out to eat. She's looking to forward to it.

Good morning!
Today is my daughters 18th birthday! I'm so happy that all my girls have off from work. My youngest has drivers ed this morning but we all plan on going out to lunch later after she gets home. For dinner I will be making Spaghetti Bolognese. And for dessert I will be making brownies. Its kind of strange that the birthday girl doesn't like cake but she loves brownies. So I guess I could stick a candle in a brownie, right? And later this evening she will be having friends over to hang out around the pool in the back yard.

How your wednesday going ?
My work day has finished ~}
So have put some charcoal on bbq and waiting on it to be ready to cook
Have a nice new wee bird lol well i dont really. its a wee wild bird a little cheeky it comes into the house and helps itself to my parrots food 3 times if you dont mind lol
This is because i forgot to put out the food from my indoor birds food when i change there food eveyday. and the wee bird was reared with all his family and a good few more round my back.lol so guess it was hungrey.

Ok all am away to do a bit of burning on the bbq (hope not) and will talk later , you all take care ~}}
