That story was posted on Defend Christmas yesterday. It was a chain of restaurants called Pret A Manger. Apparently the head office flipped on the wrong music feed by mistake, and the stores were playing Christmas music all day (and getting complaints from fed-up customers). Here's the link:

The media is really wanting to put a nasty spin on this, would be nice if they actually talked to the customers and employees.

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I banged my hand yesterday afternoon trying to loosen a bolt with a crescent wrench. I know better. I should have gotten a box-end wrench, but I was in a hurry. I paid the price...ouch! I don't think anything is broken, but it turned black & blue. LOL

The big boss made a surprise visit here from the corporate office this morning. No one knows why he came all this way, but I guess we'll find out soon.

We were just talking about Monopoly the other day. We have so many versions of it and didn't realize it. People kept giving them as gifts. We have NASCAR, Monopoly 2000, Spiderman, Anniversary Edition, a few more as well that I cannot think of at the moment.

Our favorite one that is the only one we play on is, get this, Franklin Mint one! It's not meant to be played on because it's expensive and suppose to be a collectors edition but a friend gave it to us because they said they don't play it anymore. It was a little beat up from them playing on it and I was shocked they even did that! I can't even imagine just giving that away! But since it was not in mint condition anymore, a little scratched up, velvet slightly worn, we decided it's okay to play on it too and it's really nice! Not sure it would resell for very well since it's slightly worn so why not get some use out of it! It has a drawer in it to hold the money and pieces. That book holds the property cards in it.

I love it! We would be playing it too, it looks so cool.

 

[Holiday]

I was at Hallmark the other day, and picked up a Keepsake ornament that I have been wanting for over a year now. It's a 2012, called A Carol By Candlelight. It's of an old country church, and lights up & plays Silent Night. It sounds like it is being played by one of those old-fashioned church organs. Love it. And I got it for 75% off during a sidewalk sale, sweet!

Took a pic of it, and managed to get sleeping beauty, too =)

Hope she gets well soon, there seems to be a lot of flu bugs flying around here at the moment, it's too early for them that's what January & Feb are for!!

There have been quite a few kids out sick from school here already too. Weird!

I am sure you will make her feel better soon. What are her symptoms? For some odd reason, I started running a fever, almost cold-like symptoms. I try to keep an eye on things like this so I don't get an infection. Hopefully there will come a day when that won't be so problematic for me.

I hope so too!! My friends daughter came home from school Monday with a fever. She acted fine other than having a fever! Something is in the air.. Hope you are better today!

It is still storming out.

My plans to make spaghetti sauce are on hold - I'd hate to lose electricity right in the middle of the sauce making as I tend to make a bit of a mess and I really don't want to wake up to piles of dirty dishes. A few are okay, but not sink fulls! I forgot to pick basil, too, and I can't have sauce without basil! I'd rather the rain, though! Good night to relax and catch up on my reading.

Lucky you getting rain!!! My walking partner said she heard thunder overnight, & we lost power for a split second, but never got a drop of rain! :-? Totally know what you mean about a pile of dishes! And canning does leave you with a pile of dishes & big ones at that! Hope you are able to make your sauce today!

Lots of typos and and and.....that s why I did not post the last few days.
I gotta find somebody to look at it....and if it cannot be fixed....need to get a new one.

I ended up listening to this song last night. Funny you mentioned Chicago as I heard a song of theirs the night before and I was remembering my childhood days when mum listened to them......

I about flew out my seat this morning when I saw this and then remembered I do not live anywhere near there! Recently I thought of pulling out a couple of my christmas village houses to create a Halloween scene using cob web, spiders etc. I did not know Halloween villages existed! I really really want one!!!!!!!! This looks so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I also want a tree too!

So an update to my Monopoly mishap lol. They will send a courier to collect the wrong one they sent me and they are resending the correct limited edition version. I just hope that it is the right one this time. Fingers crossed !

watching NUMBERS at the moment....gon watch a movie with the kids and later on go to Hockey practise with Kandice.....will probably clean the house when we are back and the chill on the couch.....my cousin´s gon come to visit by Thursday from Hamburg, so I am looking foward to that!!!

I recently got an HP laptop, and love it.

I say get what you know! Storage is important. And know in advance that you can take Windows 8 off if you get aggravated with it, lol.

That is absolutely amazing! You are lucky to own one like it. I am a huge monopoly fan, so many cherished memories playing with my family.

Thank you ... I spent nearly two hours on it before Mr. got home, then went to bed. Happily, there's no deadline except my wanting to get it done as soon as I can, so I can take my time and do it thoroughly. I'm constructing a detailed timeline of the matter. I've gotten through the letters, now I have to go through more than two years' worth of e-mails. If this eventually leads to something being done, it SHOULD go in my favor. I apologize for talking in riddles, but since the law is involved, I feel like I shouldn't discuss the details.

Sounds like you are organised and taking the right approach in being slow and thorough. I hope it doesn't stress you out to much.

How is everyone today? I just finished doing an online supermarket shop and I noticed that they added on a Christmas Chocolates and Sweets section. There was only a few tins of the traditional chocolates bought here around christmas but it made my day !! It is creeping in slowly.....I imagine they should start with Halloween soon!

I can not believe that it is only 77 days till the start of the season! I am really excited for this weekend as it marks the start of September!
