Good Morning, Center of the Weekers and 'Pines Preferrers.

Can we be back around to the Shispering Pines weekly open house day again already?
Carl says "YES" (I think somehow he's able to speed up time!) and his theme tonight is "welcome to the burrrs".
I suggested to him he might have meant "bers" but he said that was too pat. With the theme referring to "burrrs", the drink of choice will be ice-cold smoothies to herald the end of summer heat and the soon to arrive crisp fall weather.
(To be honest, I think the SP is probably ovestocked on something that will likely be blended into the smoothies and I'm not sure I want to try one!)

While thinking about that, make a note of this:
Days to the Season: 70
Days to Christmas Day: 112
And it is not lost on the casual observer that we find ourselves less than half a week away from SINGLE DIGITS to the 100-day Christmas Day Window, our final "window" Milestone of 2013.
Then.......Double/Double Days are here again!

Humid. Boy is it HUMID around here!
At least the temperatures aren't too high. Don't think we got out of the 70's or perhaps low 80's yesterday but it sure felt warmer.
I'm hoping for a respite today!
We are at 70 degrees here, currently.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone.
And may you have a Practically Perfect 'Pines visit in every way this evening!

Morning! Happy Pines Day! I opened the curtains this morning to thick fog and mist but far from cold though!

First day back at school for us today. J was brilliant going in thank goodness.

Now that school has started , I really feel like a new chapter to the year has begun. Even Mr. Festive has started mentioning christmas now. The shops will start with Halloween and Christmas any day now I imagine. I can't wait!

Have a great day everyone and see you all at the pines tonight for some september celebrating!

Oh and GOODLUCK today RYAN !

Good evening, friends!!

Hope you're having a nice Tuesday!

I have a neat story to share with you guys!
On Sunday, while I was visiting my family in La Crosse, my sister took me out to lunch. We went to the Hungry Peddler, a favorite restaurant for both of us. When we pulled into the parking lot, an advertisement on a car caught my eye. It looked like a Christmas wall hanging that I put up each season. I had to investigate =]
So we walked over to it, and sure enough, it was!! On each of the front doors, there was detailing that read "Believe in the magic of Christmas"! The license plate read Santa C! A Santa hat is centered on the dashboard =}
There were bumper stickers too, that read "My other car is a sleigh" & NP (North Pole). There was also an e-mail address, so I just e-mailed Santa for more information-I'll let you know his response!

When we went inside, I took a picture of the digital Christmas countdown that is hanging near the bar and kitchen area. I always smile when I see it!! The owner, Kevin, is a friend from high school's father. They are also big Christmas lovers! He saw me taking a picture of the countdown, and he asked if I realized that Santa was actually dining in the next room. He pointed him out to me, not that I would have missed him, he had his white long beard and was dressed in all red!! It was awesome!!

I was hoping to catch him before he left, unfortunately that didn't happen. But it was pretty cool to see the big guy so early in the season!! :)

Here are a few pictures of his vehicle!!

that is so cool! Nice that you heard back from them when you wrote.

My extent of scary stuff, is the Halloween specials, I watch with the kids on Disney Jr!
I think that's great! I love to watch things on Disney Jr; especially the Hallaoween and Thanksgiving and Christmas themed shows....:-D

It's funny that you say that! Adrian makes fun of me because I like Goosebumps on HUB
I like that; just be yourself. My son used to watch goosebumps all the time, which got me started watching and liking it as well...

Twilight Zone for kids and adults alike!
Oh yea, that's a good way to put it!

Exactly!!!

A few nights back, I was clicking thru the tv channels and came across the movie Mulan on Disney Jr. I sat there and watched it. I still love to watch those Disney movies.

Good Morning and Happy Pines Day!

I FINALLY finished my video project for church. It's a video to celebrate Grandparents Day. Wayne and I spent the last 2 Sundays interviewing children about their grandparents then I put that together with a brief history of that day. I ran into so many issues with my video maker. I spent my entire Friday working on it and never got it working. My son was helping me with it as well. On Saturday after a few hours we got it working. Took me most of the day yesterday to edit, tweak the audio on it, and add music. Phew! All that work and it's a 5 minute video! I know those who are familiar with video making know the time it takes to even make a video that short.

I don't have time to hang around but wanted to stop by and say hi and hope you all have a Merry Day!:hi:

Someone please send some cool air this way! All week will be 99-100 degrees. Christmasstar, I know it's your birthday but do you mind getting your big fan out and send that cool air this way? :D Have a Happy Birthday!

Hi, I'm new here!

Today I put my fall wreath on the front door. I also decided to put my Christmas mugs on the mug rack in the kitchen. They look awesome!! :)

Welcome to the Countdown thread, Melissa! Jump right in with both feet!

I just heard back from Santa- here is an excerpt =}

"My wife (maiden name "Claus") and I have been a professional Santa and Mrs. For the past 13 years. We have appeared in large malls in LasVegas and Arlington, Texas and will be returning to Arlington again this year, starting Nov. 8th and doing 12 hour days straight through Christmas Eve. Last year we saw over 14,000 children. We dress in red all year, and since my wife is also a ventriloquist, we do things with kids all year. Never dreamed that retirement could be so much fun!"

So cool!!!

Be sure to invite him to join us!!

I forgot to say earlier that I was watching Home Improvement on Hallmark Channel this afternoon. They went to commercial and all of the sudden I hear Bing Crosby singing It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas, they had commercials for their Countdown To Christmas which begins November 2.

I think that was the earliest I have ever seen a Christmas commercial, and it is just awesome!!!!

I thought I was delirious! I got out of the shower last night and the TV was on in the bedroom. I could have sworn I heard Bing singing It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas. I chalked it up to wishful thinking, though. Thanks for clearing that up!

I wish all of You a blessed Wednesday!!!! Half of the week is over already.....Kandice wrote a dictation today in school.....zero mistakes!!! very proud of the lil gal!!!!

gotta go to school in the evening....the teacher wants to tell us all the things that will be done in the next few months, the official speaker for the parents of this class will be voted ( i was voted last year) and we are paying 20 euros for crafting supplies, copies and all that stuff.....I am sure she will let us know which fuller is the one best suited for starters......over here at first the kiddos learn for write with a pencil....later sometime in second grade when they are good writers, they start using their fullers to write.....all the kids are mighty exited about that....so I think she will tell us, which ones are good and so on!!!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Ok, I have a confession to make. I bought another Camaro...

picture.php

It was such a good deal, and it was in such good shape!

Don't look at me that way, I'm not an addict! I can stop buying Camaros any time I want!

:D

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy
