So update on my great 9-foot QVC Christmas tree...it came today. One of the sections won't light. We tried everything the company said to do and it still won't work. They said they would send us a strand of lights and we can put them on ourselves. Isn't that the whole point of a pre-lite tree? Ugh!

That is such a let down! Like you said what's the point of now having to string lights up on a pre lit tree! How frustrating. I would demand a refund or an exchange!!!

I would love to be at this quaint little shop right about now!!

so the weather in Toronto has been gorgeous lately.. we went apple picking on the weekend... and this weekend is my sons birthday and we will be going to the farm Life is wonderful in the fall....

I hope you all had a great night! I am going to turn in here! I ran my 1st 5k, nonstop tonight! WEW! I have ran a 5k before, but I always took a break about 1/2 way, but tonight I made it! Still don't love to run. HA! Then my hubby came home & wanted to go for a walk, so I walked another 3.5 with him! And I just took an ibuprofen. My walking partners will be here at 5:25 am, so hopefully I can get out of bed! Lol!

It was a long day today, I am beat. The day started off when I woke up and realized I forgot to set my alarm, thank god one of our cats woke me up. I slept like a rock. I did have an MMC convention dream last night though, I remember I was talking to George Broderick, and some people that I don't believe are members here in real life, but they had screen names. It was a good time, but most of the members that are on the Countdown were not there.

Day off tomorrow, I need to get my yardwork done, and I plan on making a trip to Goodwill to see if there is anything new or interesting in the Christmas area.

It's very wet and windy here in Ireland today.

hi everyone, i ve been away on holiday for a while and missed reading all your posts i think there more than 30 pages ive mossed so i think i will probably just start catching up from this page!. Myholiday was good and my two dogs had a blast exploring woods and beaches muddy puddles and tea rooms!. We noticed alot of gift shops starting to get a few bits and bobs out on christmas display and i did buy a teatowel which said "tis the season when it is good to be fat and jolly!". I`ll take that! mince pies and Christmas cakes are in the shops which is great, time to start thinking about making our christmas cake so its nicely alcohol soaked in time for the big day!

Sounds like you had a nice holiday! I'll have some Christmas cake please!

How was your evening/night?

I went to bed earlier than usual but not as early as I had planned. My night was way better than yesterday but I'm still tired. Guess it is the weather. The last couple of days were either very foggy or very cloudy. The temperature are still moderate but it is just tiring weather.

Morning! I hope your energy levels are back up once you adjust to the change in climate. How are you finding ''Fall of Giants '' by Ken Follet. I have read his novel ''World Without End'' and thought it was really good!

Good early morning again! Just getting up to change James and I hope to get back to sleep. I was just watching the Food Network and the show that comes on starting Sunday I think a lot of folks would like is called Halloween wars. I think it is the same concept as their "cupcake wars" show. It looks to be very fun!

wow, seems the closer we get to Christmas the faster time flys by!
In 2 weeks it will be Thanksgiving, my nephews wedding is in 3 weeks and then not long after the Christmas season starts!

I would be sending it back and insisting they give me one that works. You by a prelit tree for the convenience not so you can add lights to make it work!

As for extending, I think it should remain the tradition of 5 days before the season otherwise we may end up changing it every year depending on how many people are here. 5 days is just perfect.

Good Morning all my friends. So glad to see the day is October 1st time to kick it in to major overdrive toward best time of year. IN the last week or so everyone is getting tired of me singing Christmas Music lol. Told them it is only going to get worse once Oct 1st hits.

Not too much to report this week other than only month and a few days before the three of us take our first family vacation. We can't wait and this will also be the first Vacation for me and the wife since we got married over 7 years ago. Which also means Oct 6th is our anniversary Yikes better get in gear or the wife will kill me if don't have that date night perfect lol.

Good morning. I am so happy to see October roll around! I have decided this year, I am going to slow down and truly enjoy the holiday season (starts this month for us, as we love Halloween). Every year I spend so much time anticipating these months, but am so busy when they arrive that I don't savor them. This year I am going to slow down and take in every minute.
