Good evening, MMC!
I have to clean the kitchen a bit after the canning I did this afternoon/evening. Today I made tomato basil jam and ketchup. I have been in the kitchen most of the afternoon and ended up making only 5 pints total. Since I was trying out new recipes I only did one batch each. Takes a long time to cook ketchup down and there is a lot of stirring, too. Smells tangy in here! Still a lot to do today - busy season in more ways than one!
Be MERRY!!!
Good evening friends. I have The Christmas Waltz stuck in my head (the Frank Sinatra version) and I love it! I may have to listen to it.
Hope you all have a good night!

LOL!!!! I have "Nuttin For Christmas" stuck in my mine.
Of course you do! You were bad by putting off getting your foot checked out!oint:
Put this in your list of things not to do....
Open a stuck lid on a glass jar with a pair of plyers
Don't worry it was not to bad!
MerryCarey, Happy Anniversary!!!
I was thinking about you yesterday at work. We have posters hung up on the outside window advertising Laurel and Hardy and other classic films. I kept trying to go outside to stop and read them and planned to take some pictures of it to show you but we were so busy that I still don't know what we are advertising out there! I am sure it has something to do with the old theater in our downtown square. I will try and get pictures of it next time I am at work and will send your way.
My knee was feeling great when I got up so I spent a good part of my day cleaning, preparing stuff for freezer and generally walking around without my cane. Another thing to add to my do not do list!
Sitting here with leg up icing it again .

If that theater ever shows an L&H film please let me know. I would make the short drive to Dallas for that!

Coach - just wanted to send my sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your doggy. I can't imagine what you're going through right now.
Oh Coach! I am so sorry you lost your dog! Prayers with you!
Ouch...take it easy, friend. That's a pretty painful injury...I've got a stress fracture of one of the bones in my foot. So I'm in an aircast and on crutches for the next 4 to 6 weeks.
I started my week long vacation yesterday and I will still occasionally check in,
********** MILESTONE DAY **********
Good Milestone Morning, Declining Balance Friends!
Check out the numbers:
Days to the Season: 37
Days to Christmas Day: 79
We - Have - Arrived.
THE HOME STRETCH HAS STARTED!
Ninety percent of our journey has been completed and nothing -- not a single further Milestone -- stands between us and the begining of Christmas Season 2013, barely over a month away now!
(Can it be? Can it really be??)
A very brief hard rain fell last night.
This morning has started damp but without active precipitation.
We stand at a warmish 73 degrees here in the capital city at this hour.
Have a Marvelous Monday, Folks!
Happy Milestone Day MMC!!!!!!! It's a beautiful day here with the high only getting to the mid 60's. I finally broke down and went to the ER this morning to get my foot checked. Mainly because I was threatened within an inch of my life by Sugar and Snowflake if I didn't go. LOL!!!! I was pretty sure that I knew what was wrong already but the doctor confirmed it. I have a stress fracture of one of the metatarsal bones. So for the next 4 to 6 weeks I get to wear some fancy new footwear and use Crutches. Which I hate and probably won't use. I'll just use a cane to keep some of the weight off of it. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you! I'd love to see a photo if you can manage it!
Thanks for saying so! It's very sad that Laurel & Hardy are almost unknown today. I'm showing my age when I say I grew up seeing them on TV and everyone knew them. Now younger generations have never even HEARD of them, much less seen them. They've gone from universally known and loved to practically unknown in the space of a couple decades. In another couple decades, I guess they'll be an obscure footnote in film history, like Lloyd Hamilton or Lupino Lane. Oh, what joy the world will be missing if that day comes!
Mr. heads the local Sons of the Desert (L&H appreciation society) chapter. The meetings used to draw an audience of 30 to 40 of all ages. Now a dozen is a good turnout, and they're mostly the ones who have been regular attendees for years. Well, we'll always love them here. We met thanks to the boys---they brought us together.
