Curious: Which candles do you like better? Slatkin & Co. (Bath & Body Works) or Yankee Candle?

I'm a candle nut. I have an entire end-table filled with candles and we are filling up another one. I have always preferred Slatkin & Co. ones from Bath and Body. They smell much more fragrant to me and I like their scents better in general. Their Fresh Balsam and Evergreen candles are my favorites! I know a lot of people like Yankee Candle so I am wondering if I'm missing something.

If you like Yankee, which scent is your favorite? Maybe I will give them another shot. It's that time of year where I need to start buying Christmas/winter candles!

We are a Yankee Candle family, just an hour away from their home office!!

My all time favorite is MacIntosh, and this year we are trying Holiday Garland as our Christmas scent.

this boss of mine who wanted me so badly to come back to work at subway still has not paid me for work I did 5 weeks ago. Whenever I ask her about it she just says she will look into it. Last time I asked again she got mad and said she was sick to call the head lady, but no one has a contact number for her.
I think it is time to call the labour board and get them to talk to her

Yeah, I would say that you have given her plenty of time. I'm sorry that you are having to deal with this!!

That is ridiculous, and so uncool. Especially since you went our of your way to help her out.
I'm sorry, CS. Hope this is resolved soon.

I am heading to bed soon. I'm just waiting for my oldest to get in. She was supposed to go shopping with me today but ended up ditching me. She went shopping in the city with a couple of her friends. I don't blame her, I would rather go shopping in the city too. Then my husband dragged me to another car dealer this evening. He's making me crazy, I wish he would make up his mind already! I am exhausted. I'm going to read for a little bit while I wait for my daughter. I hope everyone is well and had a happy Tuesday!
Goodnight and sweet dreams!

We just returned from Chico. The brakes on the Honda had to be fixed, and we decided to have dinner at a restaurant we like. I have begun a new book on my Nook that really started out with a bang! Talk about attention-getting!!! It's called Scare Me by Richard Palmer. I bought several other books at Barnes and Noble and Costco: three cookbooks (plus my new Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays that arrived in the mail), Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh (based on the anecdotes from her blog, HyperboleandaHalf.blogspot.com), Born to Run by Christopher McDougall, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, and The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. Born to Run is about the Tarahumara Indians who have "honed the ability to run hundreds of miles without rest or injury." The Devil in the White City is based on the "true story of two men--the brilliant architect behind the legendary 1893 (Chicago) World's Fair...and the cunning serial killer who used the fair to lure his victims to their death." In The Night Circus, "the circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Reves, and it is only open at night." (It sort of reminds me of Something Wicked This Way Comes.) I can hardly wait to finish one so I can read another! I'll keep you updated as I read. TTYT

The Pioneer woman's new cookbook looks really good!!! I may have to pick it up.

Hope all is going well with you friend!!!! Goodnight!!!

Good evening Christmas friends! First, I want to thank everyone for praying for affordable ticket for me to go home on Holidays. It's very kind of you, and I really appreciate that. <3 How was your day? The weather has been very nice here today. Sunny with crispy air, and kinda chilly in the morning. ^^ I hope that you guys have had more entertaining day than me - writing the essay. I'm now waiting for my friend to come. She is trying out some new recipes she came across lately and she has made a cake using one of them tonight so we are going to 'test' it, heh. Have a lovely and cozy evening everyone!

Good evening! I am still keeping you in my prayers that it all works out for a ticket home. My day was okay, thanks for asking! I hope your essay is completed! Have a fun night with your friend! "Testing" cake sounds like a lot of fun!

I'm about ready to clock out of the office for the night. I've been spending the last 3 days here, designing and laying out (using a 3D software) the entire new plumbing system for an elementary school in southern Maryland. So, I'm about done staring at the computer all day.

I'm hooking up with the wife tonight (near the office here in just a bit) and we are going out for dinner and maybe do some window shopping at the mall nearby. I saw on the mail yesterday, a buy 2/ get 2 for free, Yankee Candle coupon, we might use that tonight. We might also stop by the Godiva Chocolate store and get some chocolate dipped strawberries and such....

I'll talk to ya all later~

It sounds like you've had a busy couple of days! I hope that you and your wife enjoyed dinner and window shopping! Hopefully you found some cool Christmas item! I got that same coupon in the mail! Yummmm....Godiva sounds delish!

good afternoon/evening everyone

Hey there, Frosty!! Great to see you!

I like them all, different scents from different companies. I even like Colonial- bought one on clearance last week- Falling Leaves! Love it!!
I just always make sure it's a strong enough scent, so it burns nice.

Falling Leaves sounds awesome! I love fall scented candles. I think I have a couple of Colonial candles and I love them. I will have to look for more!

Three is a great age, I love the things they say when they are that young.
I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow!

Thank you, HMG!!

I like Yankee Candle. There are so many scents that I love. Some of my favorites are Home Sweet Home, Sage & Citrus, Midsummer's Night, Pink Sands and Clean Cotton. Some of my favorite Holiday scents are Autumn Wreath, Sugared Apple, Balsam & Cedar, Christmas Cookie and Sparkling Cinnamon. Just to name a few, lol. I could go on and on.

I love the smell of cotton, lol. I use a shower gel from Bath & Body that is cotton scented and I loveeee it! Christmas Cookie also sounds awesome....maybe I will go scope out Yankee tomorrow!

I'm trying to keep up with your talk, but I have to give up... LOL
So MANY pages!! Wow!

Maybe I try some other day.... Im ready for bed!

Hope YOU have a wonderful day wherever you are

Goodnight!

We have a gabbing problem here! Good night and sleep well!

Good evening, everyone. How are you all doing? Hope you're all well and enjoy your day so far. I've just been trying to relax and spend time with my kids.

What are you plans for this evening? We're going to do a quick dinner here soon and then we're going to carve pumpkins, before I lay down for nap for work tonight.

Tomorrow, after getting off of work, I have to go on a small field trip with EA to a local theater, where we will see a play. She is excited to be going. I work tonight and tomorrow night yet, then will have off Thursday night to spend Halloween with them and take them Trick-or-Treating. The kids are looking forward to that.

Well, I just wanted to check in and say hi. Hope you guys all enjoy the rest of your evening! Talk to you guys later tomorrow. Thinking of you all and praying for you all who need my prayers. God Bless and keep smiling!

I hope that you enjoyed carving pumpkins! Have fun tomorrow with EA! I am sure that you will have a blast spending Halloween with the kids. Hope all is well with you!

Jennifer- Hope your arm is healing well!!

Thanks for remembering, Made! I can't wait to get these stitches out. It's below the part where my arm bends and it's so annoying. My stitches keep poking into that part of my arm every time I move! How is your foot feeling tonight? Hope you've been resting!

Well it's official. Halloween has been postponed to friday night here because of the rain that we are going to get Thursday. I wonder if the stores will still mark down there candy on friday morning? Hmm......

Nooooooooooooo! But hey - I hope the candy is discounted. You better charge the stores first thing in the morning to see! Stock up on the candy!

glad to be home again! Dinner is done and going to work some more on my competition gingerbread house.

Ok, after that break I am back again, got a call from a friend to go out for a tea with her, nice to visit for awhile. The cake I thought was not needed until the 10th is actually needed on the 3rd! Fortunately it is an easy cake to do!

Now on to relaxing for awhile.

I can't wait to see your gingerbread house - take tons of pictures! I am glad that you had a nice visit with your friend! I hope everything works out with the cake since you are in a little bit of a time crunch!

We are a Yankee Candle family, just an hour away from their home office!!

Oooh! Holiday Garland sounds awesome. Now I will have to add that to my list of ones to check out!

Yeah, it's definitely time to pursue the labor board or somebody higher up in regards to not getting paid. That is entirely inappropriate and not cool. I hope it all works out!

Awww! I am sorry that she ditched you! She'll just have to make it up to you later! Ugh! Sorry you were dragged out to do more car shopping. That would bore me to tears lol. I hope that you enjoyed reading! Good night, sleep well, sweet dreams!

I need to go buy that Pioneer Woman cookbook. I am obsessed with her TV show and her recipes. I watch her show every week. I hope that you enjoy your new books!

Goodnight, MMC!!!!! See ya in the morning!!!!!

Night, Made! Sleep well, sweet dreams, hope you're feeling good in the morning!

Good night, MMC! I hope that everyone sleeps well and has sweet dreams. You're all in my prayers, as usual! I have to get up relatively early to get ready for my appointment with the cardiologist. It's just a precautionary appointment. My heart rate is always in the 80s or 90s which I understand is pretty high. I'd rather get it checked and see if I need to do anything about it or if all is good. After this appointment, all I have to worry about is getting my stitches out.

I may pop in tomorrow morning before my appointment. If not, talk to you all after! Have a wonderful Wednesday and drive safe to work!

I am up later than I wanted, but I am adding Christmas music to an SD Card to be ready to switch it for the season. That and I forgot that since I ordered the new Straight No Chaser Christmas CD through Amazon, I automatically get the MP3 version sent right to my computer on release day. I listened to it this afternoon, and I like it especially there original take on "Nutcracker."

It is quite funny, it will be the song of the day tomorrow for the members that don't visit this thread.

I am going to try to go to work in the morning, I just hope my back will hold up.

Good night, everyone.
