Good night, MMC! I hope that everyone sleeps well and has sweet dreams. You're all in my prayers, as usual! I have to get up relatively early to get ready for my appointment with the cardiologist. It's just a precautionary appointment. My heart rate is always in the 80s or 90s which I understand is pretty high. I'd rather get it checked and see if I need to do anything about it or if all is good. After this appointment, all I have to worry about is getting my stitches out.

I may pop in tomorrow morning before my appointment. If not, talk to you all after! Have a wonderful Wednesday and drive safe to work!

Orange and black frosted fired twinkies.
"Free glasses of blood" (which I think -- and HOPE! -- is actually Kool-Aid).
Carl wearing a mask (he won't say what it depicts - you'll have to come to see).
Apple bobbing.
Black cats.
Hay rides.
Horror movie screenings in the theater.
Wow! Sounds like you don't want to miss this one!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I got here at 7:30 this morning, after taking Jacob to school early for Praise Band practice. The guys here all looked nervous when I showed up, wondering why I was here so early. It sounds like I need to work on my punctuality LOL.

Since it's Wednesday, I'm working through lunch and leaving a little early to go to Statesboro with the family for dance practice, guitar lessons and (ugh) Wal-Mart. They better have my reduced-fat Oreos when I get there, or there'll be a rumble in the aisle!

Well off from my "real" job today, but I clean once a week for an older gentleman in our church so I will do that this afternoon. Then the two oldest have basketball after school today. I've got chili on the stove for supper.

I've been moving furniture and such getting ready for the weekend so I can start decorating:???:

In lieu of Crown's countdown update; Hey! It's 'Pines Day!

Good morning everyone!

I posted earlier, but the forum seemed to go down as soon as I hit sent. My post was lost! Oh well, let's try for round two. Carl sure has the place looking fine and festive. Halloween is tomorrow and that camel has been hard at work.

I awoke to a typical late October morning. Temperatures were hovering around zero with a decent breeze. The breeze certainly helped bring my first sight of snow for this season. I managed to snap a picture while at the bus stop. I will post it below!

A few things are new over here, but not a whole lot. I was busy last night, so I ddin't have the opportunity to post my photos to the Blossoms thread. I think I should be able to tonight, as soon as I return home from the gym.


Well, I should do some work. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to return later in the day. I don't suspect it will be too busy. Enjoy 'Pines Day, everyone!

I have had the same problem with this site this morning, I would post one or two things and then it would shut down. I had to do some running around so hopefully now it is working ok now.

have to leave for work in about 1/2 hour, really do not feel like going, but once there I am fine. It has been busy so that makes the day go by fast.
It is the day before halloween so the candy will be disappearing. Not sure how tomorrow will go as rain and high winds are predicted so not expecting a lot of kids to come by. Will by only candy I like so if I am going to be stuck with a bowl full it might as well be stuff I like!

 

[Holiday]

I'm about ready to clock out of the office for the night. I've been spending the last 3 days here, designing and laying out (using a 3D software) the entire new plumbing system for an elementary school in southern Maryland. So, I'm about done staring at the computer all day.

I'm hooking up with the wife tonight (near the office here in just a bit) and we are going out for dinner and maybe do some window shopping at the mall nearby. I saw on the mail yesterday, a buy 2/ get 2 for free, Yankee Candle coupon, we might use that tonight. We might also stop by the Godiva Chocolate store and get some chocolate dipped strawberries and such....:-D

Curious: Which candles do you like better? Slatkin & Co. (Bath & Body Works) or Yankee Candle?

I'm a candle nut. I have an entire end-table filled with candles and we are filling up another one. I have always preferred Slatkin & Co. ones from Bath and Body. They smell much more fragrant to me and I like their scents better in general. Their Fresh Balsam and Evergreen candles are my favorites! I know a lot of people like Yankee Candle so I am wondering if I'm missing something.

If you like Yankee, which scent is your favorite? Maybe I will give them another shot. It's that time of year where I need to start buying Christmas/winter candles!

I like them all - seriously, I don't think I can pick! Seems the Yankee's (single wick) lasts much longer than the B & B double wickers!! I agree with Snowflake - Falling Leaves is extra awesome!!!

I'm trying to keep up with your talk, but I have to give up... LOL

this boss of mine who wanted me so badly to come back to work at subway still has not paid me for work I did 5 weeks ago. Whenever I ask her about it she just says she will look into it. Last time I asked again she got mad and said she was sick to call the head lady, but no one has a contact number for her.
I think it is time to call the labour board and get them to talk to her

That's not right! Hope it gets worked out very soon!

I am heading to bed soon. I'm just waiting for my oldest to get in. She was supposed to go shopping with me today but ended up ditching me. She went shopping in the city with a couple of her friends. I don't blame her, I would rather go shopping in the city too. Then my husband dragged me to another car dealer this evening. He's making me crazy, I wish he would make up his mind already! I am exhausted. I'm going to read for a little bit while I wait for my daughter. I hope everyone is well and had a happy Tuesday!

We just returned from Chico. The brakes on the Honda had to be fixed, and we decided to have dinner at a restaurant we like. I have begun a new book on my Nook that really started out with a bang! Talk about attention-getting!!! It's called Scare Me by Richard Palmer. I bought several other books at Barnes and Noble and Costco: three cookbooks (plus my new Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays that arrived in the mail), Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh (based on the anecdotes from her blog, HyperboleandaHalf.blogspot.com), Born to Run by Christopher McDougall, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, and The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. Born to Run is about the Tarahumara Indians who have "honed the ability to run hundreds of miles without rest or injury." The Devil in the White City is based on the "true story of two men--the brilliant architect behind the legendary 1893 (Chicago) World's Fair...and the cunning serial killer who used the fair to lure his victims to their death." In The Night Circus, "the circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Reves, and it is only open at night." (It sort of reminds me of Something Wicked This Way Comes.) I can hardly wait to finish one so I can read another! I'll keep you updated as I read. TTYT

I hope your appt. goes very well! I just read on a card the other day a heartrate of anywhere from 60-100 is normal. (with men having a lower heart rate) I hope everything checks out ok. My heart rate use to be much higher until I started walking every day - close to 100 at times!

Good afternoon (already!) It's a dreary ol day in Ohio. Supposed to hit 66º but haven't seen sun since yesterday morning! Rain coming in later on. Good thing I have the PINES to look forward too!!

Went to basket bingo with my Mom/sisters/sil last night. We ended up sitting at a table with 5 other women from town here (they are a hoot!) We had a lot of fun, but it got kind of long. I'm not use to sitting on a metal chair for 20 games of Bingo. They could have ended after 15 - that was enough. Ha ha! By 10:00 my eyes were getting buggy starring at those bingo cards!! ;-) But it was fun & I would do it again.

No plans tonight - but plenty of things to do at home. Hoping to get some hookin done on my afghan too. Tomorrow night is stitch 'n b*tch AND GREAT PUMPKIN CHARLIE BROWN!!! Yay!!! It was funny - the one lady we sat at the table with last night made sure to remind everyone that Charlie Brown is on at 8:00 Thursday night! Ah - a lady looking as forward to it as me!!! :grin:

Hi All- Hope everyone is having a great hump day.

We had a very sad day yesterday and we had it put down on 12 y/o boxer, Max. He woke up yesterday and could not even stand so we took him to the vets' office first thing and they did some bloodwork and he had cancer. I think one of the hardest parts was how sad my kids were...that truly breaks my heart

I work from home so it is very strange not having him here with me today. We also have a Boston Terrier, Leo who is also missing his sidekick.

I know we will get through this...just takes some time. We just have to remember all the great memories we had with him!

I am listening to some Christmas music to brighten my day..

Good morning!
We are going to have sun and clouds today with a high of 57 degrees.
I walked the dogs a little while ago, straightened up the house and started laundry. I have a few phone calls to make and then I am heading out to run my errands. I'll probably get to the gym later this afternoon.
I got a letter in the mail with information on ordering my daughter a yearbook, I want to do that today. It seems a little early, they don't hand them out until they graduate in the middle of June. I also need to order her senior portraits too. She had pictures taken twice, so we have a lot to choose from. We are having a hard time deciding, we like so many. I will probably get a package that lets me choose more than one pose.
