Christmas Countdown - 2013

Well today I decorated, got the lights that I needed for the house, finished all my Christmas shopping, wrote 3 blogs, did four loads of laundry, and watched a movie with my son after we had dinner together. It was good day!

I just want to say how much I appreciate this message board and being able to share the Christmas season with other people who are like-minded and love celebrating everything about Christmas.

Just checked the updated forecast for around here. 6 to 10 inches of snow expected Saturday evening into Sunday morning. So it'll look very Christmassy around here soon. There's still a little snow on the ground from earlier this week, and it was nice while making cookies to look out at snow and listen to Christmas music. Now it's time for a Christmas movie, I think. And I SHOULD sample those cookies to make sure they came out just right.

We are without electricity, and have been that for almost 24hours!!!
And It's 28f outside!
We had a storm here yesterday.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!!! It's going to be a little bit warmer today with a high near 32. Hopefully it gets warmer than that. We haven't been above freezing in over a week. We are supposed to get another 3 to 6 inches of snow overnight and they are saying that it's going to be a heavy snow. Yuck!!! That's not what I need. I have way to much to do tomorrow and one of those things includes an hour drive each way to go with my sister and niece's on a polar express train ride. So I really don't need the roads to be bad. Thankfully there's not much on my agenda for today. I just need to do some things around the apartment and then run to the grocery. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!

How cool that you are going on a Polar Express Ride - I would love to do something like that with my grandnieces/nephews! I hope the weather cooperates for you - have fun and be safe!!!

Well I just got my world rocked.

My husband called to tell me that our business partner wants out of the partnership. I used to run our entire business for about 10 years. I've had the last 3 years of someone else handling the bulk of it and its been such a blessing allowing me to focus on other things with Noah and my own business. This means that not only does it all fall back to me, but the expansions we've developed in the last 3 years as well.

Then he tells me that someone else that we work with has arranged a Vegas style show to take place starting in Dubai next summer, touring internationally and he's one of the performers on it.

Then he tells me that this same person has been working on a project revolving around the two of us moving to where he lives to become his partners in his business and that's about to come to fruition. This will also be taking place next summer.

The last two - I knew were possibilities as we'd discussed it in the past year, but the partner dissolution - that was new. It's kind of a lot to absorb in 20 minutes while your standing there feeling overwhelmed with Christmas lights in your hands. LOL

Good evening, MMC family! Just getting ready to eat dinner! Hope you're all having a great evening and staying warm. Winter weather is on the way here, with lots of snow.

I have to work tonight and DH is at the Penguins game, so my MIL is going to stay with the kids until he gets home. Nothing new to report here.

I hope you all have a great rest of your evening and you have safe travels if you have to go out in this weather.

You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed them. I kept trying to capture one where the sprays of water were breaking through the ice like geysers. It was gorgeous! But I couldn't find my gloves when I stepped out of the truck and my hands were frozen to the point of not being able to operate the camera. Though my one favorite is of my husband standing on one of the frozen dune like waves, the spray is in front of him, so it's between us, the lake is behind him and he's texting. YES I'm serious! ROFL I was looking back through the pictures and asked, "What are you doing there? Are you texting??" He looked, "I guess, I was either texting or posting something on Facebook or Twittering." ROFLMBO Of course. I know if I was standing on a dune of ice on Lake Erie - that would be the first thing I would think to do. LOL

Although - in spring of 2011 we summitted Pike's Peak in Colorado. Okay, I did - I posted pics on Facebook from the summit. LOL Honestly, mostly because I was just impressed that I still had reception up there. I was taking pics and saw bars and thought, "There's no way!!" Sure enough - on Pike's Peak, Sprint still had 2 bars of connectivity. LOL I had to - I couldn't resist it. LOL

My mom is going this morning for a sonogram to check for ovarian cancer. We had a family member who passed away from it years ago. I'll keep you updated when I know anything!

Noah and I will be doing the lights on the house today and I have some more glasses to engrave. A friend asked me to make her daughter and daughter's fiance big steins with Steelers logo on one and Green Bay Packers on the other. LOL. So long as I'm not selling them... I'm safe from copyright infringement. LOL.

Carving some small primitive style cardinals for my mom out of a piece of that chestnut wood. She'll flip when she finds out what wood it came from. She adored my grandparents, her ILs. She thought my grandfather hung the moon. Heck... so do I.
